If you use the engine coolant other than “SUZUKI LLC (Blue)” for replacement, follow the schedule of “SUZUKI LLC: Standard (Green)”.
NOTE:
*1: Replace when the oil change request light blinks or each months that listed in table.
*2: Inspect more frequently if the vehicle is used under dusty conditions.
For diesel engine models

Recommended maintenance items by an authorized SUZUKI dealer or a qualified service technician
#1: Inspect every 100000 km (60000 miles) or 60 months for 1st time and 2nd time.
Inspect every 50000 km (30000 miles) or 30 months for 3rd time, by a shorter interval.
These inspection intervals will be repeated after 4th time.
For details, refer to the following maintenance timing.
1st: 100000 km (60000 miles) or 60 months 2nd: 200000 km (120000 miles) or 120 months 3rd: 250000 km (150000 miles) or 150 months
4th: 350000 km (210000 miles) or 210 months 5th: 450000 km (270000 miles) or 270 months 6th: 500000 km (300000 miles) or 300 months

NOTE:
*1:Clean more frequently if the air flow from the air conditioner decreases.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency or the California Air Resources Board has determined that the failure to perform recom-
mended maintenance items enclosed with a rectangle will not nullify the emission warranty or limit recall liability prior to the completion of
the vehicle’s useful life. SUZUKI, however, urges that all recommended maintenance services be performed at the indicated intervals
and the maintenance recorded.

INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE
54P00-01E
Battery
52KM160
Your vehicle is equipped with a battery that
requires infrequent maintenance. You will
never have to add water. You should, how-
ever, periodically check the battery, battery
terminals and battery hold-down bracket
for corrosion. Remove corrosion using a
stiff brush and ammonia mixed with water,
or baking soda mixed with water. After
removing corrosion, rinse with clean water.
If your vehicle is not going to be driven for
a month or longer, disconnect the cable
from the negative terminal of the battery to
help prevent discharge.Battery replacement54P000704
NOTE:
(For diesel engine model)
To approach the battery, push the locks
and remove the suction pipe (1).
WA R N I N G
• Batteries produce flammable
hydrogen gas. Keep flames and
sparks away from the battery or an
explosion may occur. Never smoke
when working near the battery.
• When checking or servicing the
battery, disconnect the negative
cable. Be careful not to cause a
short circuit by allowing metal
objects to contact the battery posts
and the vehicle at the same time.
• To avoid harm to yourself or dam-
age to your vehicle or battery, fol-
low the jump-starting instructions
in “EMERGENCY SERVICE” sec-
tion if it is necessary to jump-start
your vehicle.
• Diluted sulfuric acid spilled from
battery can cause blindness or
severe burns. Use proper eye pro-
tection and gloves. Flush eyes or
body with ample water and get
medical care immediately if suf-
fered. Keep batteries out of reach
of children.
