Ce rtain parts are only o1cial lyappr ovedfor
installation or modi/cation if they comply with

Mercedes-Benz AGcannot, despite carefully
de veloping vehicle systems, comple tely rule out
th e interaction of vehicle systems with elect ronic
medical aids such as ca rdiac pacemake rs. In addition,
there are components ins talled in the
ve hicle that, rega rdless of the operating status of
th eve hicle, can generate magnetic /elds on a par
with permanent magnets. These /elds can be
fo und, forex ample, in the area around the multi-
media and sound system or also in the area of the
seats, depending on theve hicle equipment.
Fo rth is reason, thefo llowing can occur in isolated
cases, depending on the aids used:
R Medical aids malfunctioning
R Adve rse health e.ects
Obser vethe no tes and warnings of the manufac-
turer of the medical aids; if in doubt, contact the
device manufacturer and/or your doctor. If there
is continuing uncer tainty concerning the possibil-
ity of medical aids malfunctioning, Mercedes-
Benz AGrecommends using only fewelectrical
ve hicle systems and/or main taining a distance
from the components.

head airbag is damaged
If th e co ver of a head airbag is damaged, the
head airbag may no lon ger function as inten-
ded and may even cause additional injuries if
deplo yed. In particular, the co ver of the head
airbag can be damaged bypeople sitting on it
or by heavy objects. #
Before commencing your journe y,make
sure that the head airbag co vers are
undamaged. Ha vea damaged head air-
bag co verre placed immediately at a
qu ali/ed specialist workshop. #
Never sit on the co ver of the head air-
bag. #
Do not place heavy objects on the co ver
of the head airbag. The head airbags are integ
rated into the beltline

Ne ver allow babies and children totrave l sitting

impr oveprotection forch ildren younger than
12 years old or under 1.50 m in height,
Mercedes-Benz recommends you obser vethefo l-
lowing information:

R The child restraint system must be appropria te
to the age, weight and size of thech ild.
R The vehicle seat must be suitable for /tting a

Ac cident statistics show that children secured on
