HEADLAMPS – TROUBLESHOOTING
HEADLAMPS – FREQUENTLY ASKEDQUESTIONS
Why is there condensation in theheadlamps?
Headlamps have vents to accommodatenormal changes in air pressure.Condensation can be a naturalby-product of this design. When moistair enters the lamp assembly throughthe vents, there is a possibility thatcondensation can occur when thetemperature is cold. When normalcondensation occurs, a fine mist canform on the interior of the lens. The finemist eventually clears and exits throughthe vents during normal operation.
How much condensation is acceptable?
The presence of a fine mist, for exampleno streaks, drip marks or large droplets.A fine mist covers less than 50% of thelens.
How long may it take for the acceptablecondensation to be cleared?
Clearing time may take as long as 48hours under dry weather conditions.
How much condensation is unacceptable?
A water puddle inside the lamp. Streaks, drip marks or large droplets present onthe interior of the lens.
What should I do if unacceptablecondensation is present?
Have your vehicle checked as soon aspossible.
Why do my headlamps turn off when I havethem switched on when I switch my vehicleoff?
The battery saver turns the headlampsoff after a short period of time after youswitch your vehicle off.
AUTOLAMPS
WHAT ARE AUTOLAMPS
WARNING: The system does notrelieve you of your responsibility to drivewith due care and attention. You may needto override the system if it does not turnthe headlamps on in low visibilityconditions, for example daytime fog.
Autolamps turn the headlamps on in low lightsituations or when the windshield wipersoperate.

Loose Mirror
If you manually fold the power-foldingmirrors, they may not work properly evenafter you re-position them. You need to resetthem if:
•The mirrors vibrate when you drive.
•The mirrors feel loose.
•The mirrors do not stay in the folded orunfolded position.
•One of the mirrors is not in its normaldriving position.
To reset the power-fold feature, use thepower-folding mirror control to fold andunfold the mirrors. You may hear a loud noiseas you reset the power-folding mirrors. Thissound is normal. Repeat this process asneeded each time you manually fold themirrors.
AUTO-DIMMING EXTERIOR MIRROR
WHAT IS THE AUTO-DIMMINGEXTERIOR MIRROR
The driver exterior mirror dims when theinterior auto-dimming mirror turns on.
Memory Mirrors (If Equipped)
You can save and recall the mirror positionsthrough the memory function. See MemoryFunction (page 174).

If your information display resets prematurelyor becomes inoperative, you should performthe oil change interval at six months or5,000 mi (8,000 km) from your last oilchange. Never exceed one year or 10,000 mi(16,000 km) between oil change intervals.
You can drive high performance vehicles insuch a way that may lead to higher oilconsumption including extended time at highengine speeds, high loads, engine braking, hard cornering maneuvers, track and off-roadusage. Under these conditions, oilconsumption of approximately 1 quart per500 miles (1 liter per 800 km) is possible.Check the engine oil level at every refuelingand adjust to maintain proper levels to avoidengine damage.
It is important to rely upon your dealershipto properly diagnose and repair your vehicle.
We strongly recommend only using ourgenuine or our authorized re-manufacturedreplacement parts engineered for yourvehicle.
Additives and Chemicals
We do not recommend using chemicals oradditives not approved by us as part of yourvehicle’s normal maintenance. Please consultyour warranty information.
Oils, Fluids and Flushing
In many cases, fluid discoloration is a normaloperating characteristic and, by itself, doesnot necessarily indicate a concern or that thefluid needs to be changed. Have discoloredfluids that also show signs of overheating orforeign material contamination checkedimmediately.
Make sure to change the vehicle’s oils andfluids at the specified intervals or inconjunction with a repair. Flushing is a viableway to change fluid for many vehiclesub-systems during scheduled maintenance. It is critical that systems are flushed only withnew fluid that is the same as that requiredto fill and operate the system or using ourapproved flushing chemical.
Owner Checks and Services
Make sure you perform the following basicmaintenance checks and inspections.
Check Every Month
The air filter restriction gauge.1
The engine oil level.
Function of all interior and the exterior lights.
