Electronic Parking Brake
(EPB) warning light (if equipped)
This warning light illuminates:
[
When you set the ignition switch or
the Engine Start/Stop button to the ON position.
- The EPB warning light illuminates for about 3 seconds and then goes
off.
[ Whenever there is a malfunction with the EPB.
If this occurs, you have the vehicle
inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI
dealer.
Information
The Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) warning light may illuminate when
the Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
indicator light comes on to indicate that
the ESC is not working properly (This does not indicate malfunction of the EPB).
AUTO HOLD indicator light
This indicator light illuminates:
[ [White] When you activate the auto
hold system by pressing the AUTO
HOLD switch.
[ [Green] When you stop the vehicle
completely by depressing the brake
pedal with the Auto Hold system
activated.
[ [Yellow] Whenever there is a
malfunction with the Auto Hold
system.
If this occurs, you have the vehicle
inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI
dealer.

section in chapter 6. Charging system warning
light
This warning light illuminates:
When the battery is not being charged
while the engine is running. Immediately
turn OFF all electrical accessories. Try
not to use electrically operated controls,
such as the power windows. Keep the engine running.
you have the vehicle inspected by an
authorized HYUNDAI dealer as soon as possible.
Engine oil pressure warning
light
This warning light illuminates:
When the engine oil pressure is low.
If the engine oil pressure is low:
1. Drive carefully to the nearest safe
location and stop your vehicle.
2. Turn the engine off and check the engine oil level (For more details,
refer to “Engine Oil” section in
chapter 9). If the level is low, add oil
as required.
If the warning light remains on after
adding oil or if oil is not available, have
the vehicle inspected by an authorized
HYUNDAI dealer as soon as possible.
Continued driving with the warning light
on may cause engine failure.

Checking the Engine Oil Level
Engine oil is used for lubricating,
cooling, and operating various hydraulic
components in the engine. Engine oil
consumption while driving is normal,
and it is necessary to check and refill the
engine oil regularly. Also, check and refill
the oil level within the recommended
maintenance schedule to prevent
deterioration of oil performance.
Check the engine oil following the below
procedure.
1. Follow all of the oil manufacturer’s precautions.
2. Be sure the vehicle is on the level ground in P (Park) with the parking
brake set and the wheels blocked.
3. Turn the engine on and warm the engine up until the coolant
temperature reaches a constant
normal temperature.
4. Turn the engine off, remove the oil filler cap and pull the dipstick out.
Wait for 15 minutes for the oil to return
to the oil pan.
5. Wipe the dipstick clean and re-insert it fully.

6. Pull the dipstick out again and check the level. The level should be between
F (Full) and L (Low).

7. If the oil level is below L, add enough oil to bring the level to F.
Use only the specified engine oil (Refer
to “Recommended Lubricants and
Capacities” section in chapter 2).
NOTICE
To prevent damage to your engine: [ Do not spill engine oil when adding
or changing engine oil. Wipe off
spilled oil immediately.
[ The engine oil consumption may
increase while you break in a new
vehicle and it will be stabilized after
driving 6,000 km (4,000 miles).
[ The engine oil consumption can be
affected by driving habits, climate
conditions, traffic conditions,
oil quality, etc. Therefore, it is
recommended that you inspect the
engine oil level regularly and refill it
if necessary.
