RECOMMENDED LUBRICANTS AND CAPACITIES
To help achieve proper engine and powertrain performance and durability, use only
lubricants of the proper quality. The correct lubricants also help promote engine
efficiency that results in improved fuel economy.
These lubricants and fluids are recommended for use in your vehicle.
Lubricant Volume
Engine oil
*1 *2
(drain and refill) Recommends 5.49 US qt. (5.2 ℓ) SAE 0W-30 API SN PLUS/SP or
ILSAC GF-6
*3
Manual transmission fluid
1.9 ~ 2.0 US qt.
(1.8 ~ 1.9 ℓ) HK SYN MTF 70W (SK)
SPIRAX S6 GHME 70W MTF
(H.K.SHELL)
GS MTF HD 70W (GS CALTEX)
(API GL-4, SAE 70W, TGO-9)
Dual clutch
transmission
fluid Gear oil
3.4 ~ 3.6 US qt.
(3.3 ~ 3.4 ℓ) GS WDCTF HD G (WDGO-1)
Control oil 2.58 ~ 2.64 US qt.
(2.45 ~ 2.5 ℓ) GS WDCTF HD H (WDHO-1)
Coolant 8.12 US qt.
(7.68 ℓ) Mixture of antifreeze and water
(Phosphate-based Ethylene glycol
coolant for aluminum radiator)
Brake/clutch fluid
*40.74 ~ 0.85 US qt. (0.7 ~ 0.8 ℓ) DOT-4
Fuel 12.42 US gal.
(47 ℓ) Refer to “Fuel requirements” in the
chapter 1.
*1 : Refer to the recommended SAE viscosity numbers on the next page.
*2 : Engine oils labeled Energy Conserving Oil are now available. Along with other additional
benefits, they contribute to fuel economy by reducing the amount of fuel necessary
to overcome engine friction. Often, these improvements are difficult to measure in
everyday driving, but in a year’s time, they can offer significant cost and energy savings.
*3 : Requires < API SN PLUS (or above) Full synthetic> grade engine oil. If a lower grade
engine oil (mineral oil including Semi-synthetic) is used, then the engine oil and engine
oil filter must be replaced as indicated severe maintenance condition.
*4 : For the best performance of braking and ABS/ESC functions, you should use genuine
brake fluid that conform to standards. (Standards: SAE J1704 DOT-4 LV, ISO4925 CLASS-6
and FMVSS116 DOT-4)

• Use a towing cable or chain less than 5 m (16 feet) long. Attach a white or
red cloth (about 30 cm (12 inches)
wide) in the middle of the cable or
chain for easy visibility.
• Drive carefully so the towing cable or chain remains tight during towing.
• Before towing, check the Dual clutch transmission for fluid leaks under
your vehicle. If the Dual clutch
transmission fluid is leaking, flatbed
equipment or a towing dolly must be
used.
NOTICE
Accelerate or decelerate the vehicle
in a slow and gradual manner while
maintaining tension on the tow rope
or chain to start or drive the vehicle,
otherwise tow hooks and the vehicle
may be damaged.
NOTICE
To avoid damage to your vehicle and
vehicle components when towing:
• Always pull straight ahead when
using the towing hooks. Do not pull
from the side or at a vertical angle.
• Do not use the towing hooks to pull
a vehicle out of mud, sand or other
conditions from which the vehicle
cannot be driven out under its own
power.
• Limit the vehicle speed to 10mph
(15km/h) and drive less than 1 mile
(1.5 km) when towing to avoid serious
damage to Manual transmission /
Dual clutch transmission.

Maintenance9-6
While operating your vehicle:
• Note any changes in the sound of the exhaust or any smell of exhaust fumes
in the vehicle.
• Check for vibrations in the steering wheel. Notice if there is any increased
steering effort or looseness in the
steering wheel, or change in its
straight-ahead position.
• Notice if your vehicle constantly turns slightly or “pulls” to one side when
traveling on smooth, level road.
• When stopping, listen and check for unusual sounds, pulling to one side,
increased brake pedal travel or “hard-
to-push” brake pedal.
• If any slipping or changes in the operation of your transmission occurs,
check the transmission fluid level.
• Check the dual clutch transmission P (Park) function.
• Check the parking brake.
• Check for fluid leaks under your vehicle (water dripping from the air
conditioning system during or after
use is normal).
• Check the manual transmission operation, including clutch operation.
At least monthly:
• Check coolant level in the engine coolant reservoir.
• Check the operation of all exterior lights, including the brake lights, turn
signals and hazard warning flashers.
• Check the inflation pressures of all tires including the spare for tires that
are worn, show uneven wear, or are
damaged.
• Check for loose wheel lug nuts.
At least twice a year:
(for example, every Spring and
Autumn)
• Check radiator, heater and air conditioning hoses for leaks or
damage.
• Check windshield washer spray and wiper operation. Clean wiper blades
with a clean cloth dampened with
washer a fluid.
• Check headlamp alignment.
• Check muffler, exhaust pipes, shields and clamps.
• Check the seat belts for wear and function.
At least once a year:
• Clean body and door drain holes.
• Lubricate door hinges and hood hinges.
• Lubricate door and hood locks and latches.
• Lubricate door rubber weather strips.
• Lubricate door checker.
• Check the air conditioning system.
• Inspect and lubricate dual clutch transmission linkage and controls.
• Clean the battery and terminals.
• Check the brake fluid level.
