When washing the engine compartment:
•Never wash or rinse the engine while itis hot or running.

CLEANING THE CONVERTIBLETOP
Remove lint with a lint roller or vacuumwith a soft bristle brush.
Wash with an approved high qualityconvertible top cleaner and protectant.
Note:Do not use stiff bristle brushes,abrasive materials or household cleaningproducts.
Note:High pressure water may cause waterleaks and possible seal damage to theconvertible top.
Cleaning the Soft Top Windows
We recommend that you only clean thesoft top windows in the following way:
1.Use only a microfiber cloth, cold orlukewarm water, and a mild soap andwater solution to clean the soft topwindows in a circular motion.
2.Rinse thoroughly with cold water, thenwipe with a soft, damp cloth.
3.Use a small amount of soft top windowcleaner or equivalent to remove finescratches and to improve visibility andprovide UV protection to help preventyellowing.

Note:Test any cleaner on an inconspicuousarea before applying broadly.
Note:Do not use hot water or anythingstronger than mild soap on the soft topwindow.

Note:Do not paste stickers, gummed labelsor any tape on the soft top window surface.
CLEANING STRIPES ORGRAPHICS
It is recommended to wash your vehicle byhand however, pressure washing may beused under the following conditions:
•Use a spray with a 40° wide sprayangle pattern.
•Keep the nozzle at a 12 in (305 mm)distance and 90° angle to yourvehicle's surface.
•Do not use water pressure higher than2,000 psi (14,000 kPa).
•Do not use water hotter than 179°F(82°C).
Note:Holding the pressure washer nozzleat an angle to the vehicle's surface maydamage graphics and cause the edges topeel away from the vehicle's surface.
CLEANING CAMERA LENSES ANDSENSORS
We recommend that you only uselukewarm or cold water and a soft clothto clean the camera lens and sensors.

We recommend that you only clean theinstrument panel and cluster lens with adamp soft cloth. Dry the area with a clean,soft cloth.

Note:Avoid cleaners or polishes thatincrease the gloss of the upper portion ofthe instrument panel. The dull finish in thisarea helps protect you from undesirablewindshield reflection.
CLEANING PLASTIC
We recommend that you only use a mildsoap and water solution on a soft cloth.Dry the area with a clean, soft cloth.
CLEANING DISPLAYS ANDSCREENS
We recommend that you only use amicrofiber cloth in a circular motion toclean off the fingerprint or dust.
If dirt or fingerprints are still on the screen,apply a small amount of alcohol to thecloth and try to clean it again.
Note:Do not pour or spray alcohol onto thetouchscreen.

3.Make sure the leather is dry, then applya small amount of conditioner to aclean, dry cloth.

Cleaning Rubber Floors
1.Remove the floor mats prior to washingout. See Floor Mats (page 299).

2.Turn active drain plugs in eachpassenger compartmentcounterclockwise to open.

3.Wash out debris using a standardgarden style hose.
Note:Use caution to not spray seats,console, door interior, electrical connections,instrument cluster display and underside ofthe instrument panel on both driver andpassenger sides.
4.Wipe out remaining water or debrisfrom the floor.
5.Install active drain plugs and turnclockwise to close.
6.Reinstall floor mats.
CLEANING SEATBELTS
WARNING: Do not use cleaningsolvents, bleach or dye on the vehicle'sseatbelts, as these actions may weakenthe belt webbing.
1.Wipe the surface with a soft, dampcloth and a mild soap and watersolution. Dry the area with a clean, softcloth.
REPAIRING MINOR PAINT
DAMAGE
Authorized dealers have touch-up paint tomatch your vehicle’s color. Your vehiclecolor code is printed on a sticker on thefront, left-hand side door jamb. Take yourcolor code to your authorized dealer tomake sure you get the correct color.
Before repairing minor paint damage, usea cleaner to remove particles such as birddroppings, tree sap, insect deposits, tarspots, road salt and industrial fallout.
Read the instructions before using cleaningproducts.
WAXING YOUR VEHICLE
Wax the high-gloss painted surface of yourprewashed vehicle once or twice a year.
We recommend that you only use anapproved quality wax that does notcontain abrasives. Follow themanufacturer's instructions to apply andremove the wax. For additional informationand assistance, we recommend that youcontact an authorized dealer.
When washing and waxing, park yourvehicle in a shaded area out of directsunlight.
Note:Avoid waxing unpainted or low-glossblack colored parts, they discolor over time.

PREPARING YOUR VEHICLE
FOR STORAGE
If you plan on storing your vehicle for 30days or more, the following maintenancerecommendations ensures your vehiclestays in good operating condition.
Under various conditions, long-termstorage may lead to degraded engineperformance or failure unless you usespecific precautions to preserve yourvehicle.
General
•Store all vehicles in a dry, ventilatedplace.
•If vehicles are stored outside, theyrequire regular maintenance to protectagainst rust and weather damage.
•Make sure all linkages, cables, leversand pins under your vehicle are coveredwith grease to prevent rust.
•Move vehicles at least 25 ft (7.5 m)every 15 days to lubricate working partsand prevent corrosion.
•Fill the fuel tank with high-quality fueluntil the first automatic shutoff of thefuel pump nozzle.
Engine
•Change the engine oil and filter prior tostorage because used engine oilcontains contaminants which maycause engine damage.
•Start the engine every 15 days for aminimum of 15 minutes. Run at fastidle with the climate controls set todefrost until the engine reaches normaloperating temperature.
•With your foot on the brake, shiftthrough all the gears while the engineis running.
Body
•Wash your vehicle thoroughly toremove dirt, grease, oil, tar or mud fromexterior surfaces, rear-wheel housingsand the underside of front fenders.
•Periodically wash your vehicle if it isstored in exposed locations.
•Touch-up exposed or primed metal toprevent rust.
•Cover chrome and stainless steel partswith a thick coat of auto wax to preventdiscoloration. Re-wax as necessarywhen you wash your vehicle.
•Lubricate all hood, door and luggagecompartment hinges and latches witha light grade oil.
•Cover interior trim to prevent fading.
•Keep all rubber parts free from oil andsolvents.
12 Volt Battery
•Check and recharge as necessary. Keepconnections clean.
Note:It is necessary to reset memoryfeatures if you disconnect the batterycables.
Brakes
Make sure the brakes and parking brakerelease fully.
Note:If you intend on parking your vehiclefor an extended period after cleaning thewheels with a wheel cleaner, drive yourvehicle for a few minutes before doing so toreduce the risk of increased corrosion of thebrake discs, brake pads and linings.
Tires
•Maintain recommended air pressure.

TERMINOLOGY
*Tire label: A label showing theoriginal equipment tire sizes,recommended inflation pressureand the maximum weight thevehicle can carry.
*Tire Identification Number(TIN): A number on the sidewallof each tire providing informationabout the tire brand andmanufacturing plant, tire size anddate of manufacture. Also referredto as DOT code.
*Inflation pressure: A measureof the amount of air in a tire.
*Standard load: A class ofP-metric or Metric tires designedto carry a maximum load at setpressure. For example: ForP-metric tires 35 psi (2.4 bar) andfor Metric tires 36 psi (2.5 bar).Increasing the inflation pressurebeyond this pressure will not
increase the tire’s load carryingcapability.
*Extra load: A class of P-metricor Metric tires designed to carry aheavier maximum load at 42 psi(2.9 bar). Increasing the inflationpressure beyond this pressure willnot increase the tire’s loadcarrying capability.
*kPa: Kilopascal, a metric unit ofair pressure.
*PSI: Pounds per square inch, astandard unit of air pressure.
*Cold tire pressure: The tirepressure when the vehicle hasbeen stationary and out of directsunlight for an hour or more andprior to the vehicle being driven for1 mi (1.6 km).
*Recommended inflationpressure: The cold inflationpressure found on the SafetyCompliance Certification Label(affixed to either the door hingepillar, door-latch post, or the dooredge that meets the door-latchpost, next to the driver's seatingposition), or Tire Label located onthe B-Pillar or the edge of thedriver door.
* B-pillar: The structural memberat the side of the vehicle behindthe front door.
*Bead area of the tire: Area ofthe tire next to the rim.
* Sidewall of the tire: Areabetween the bead area and thetread.

WARNING: For a mountingpressure more than 20 psi(1.38 bar) greater than themaximum pressure, a Forddealer or other tire serviceprofessional should do themounting.
WARNING: Always inflatesteel carcass tires with a remoteair fill with the person inflatingstanding at a minimum of 12 ft(3.66 m) away from the wheeland tire assembly.
WARNING: When inflatingthe tire for mounting pressuresup to 20 psi (1.38 bar) greaterthan the maximum pressure onthe tire sidewall, the followingprecautions must be taken toprotect the person mounting thetire:
•Make sure that you have thecorrect tire and wheel size.
•Lubricate the tire bead andwheel bead seat area again.

•Stand at a minimum of 12 ft(3.66 m) away from the wheeland tire assembly.
•Use both eye and earprotection.
Important: Remember to replacethe wheel valve stems when theroad tires are replaced on yourvehicle.
If a four tire rotation is beingfollowed, it is recommended thatboth front tires or both rear tiresgenerally be replaced as a pair ifthe two remaining worn tires stillhave usable tread depth. If a fivetire rotation is being followed andthe fifth tire is used to replace asingle unrepairable tire, a four tirerotation should be followed withthe undamaged tires. Any
replacement for the damaged tireshould be used as a dedicatedspare until the remaining tires arereplaced as a set.
To avoid potential Four-WheelDrive (4WD) malfunction or(4WD) system damage, it isrecommended to replace all tiresused in the tire rotation ratherthan mixing significantly worn tireswith new tires.
The tire pressure sensors mountedin the wheels (originally installedon your vehicle) are not designedto be used in aftermarket wheels.
The use of wheels or tires notrecommended may affect theoperation of your tire pressuremonitoring system.
If the tire pressure monitoringsystem indicator is flashing, yoursystem is malfunctioning. Yourreplacement tire might beincompatible with your tirepressure monitoring system, orsome component of the systemmay be damaged.
USING SNOW CHAINS
WARNING: Do not exceed 30 mph(50 km/h). Failure to follow thisinstruction could result in the loss ofcontrol of your vehicle, personal injury ordeath.
WARNING: Do not use snow chainson snow-free roads.
WARNING: Only fit snow chains tospecified tires.
WARNING: If your vehicle is fittedwith wheel trims, remove them beforefitting snow chains.
WARNING: If you choose to installsnow tires on your vehicle, they must bethe same size, construction, and loadrange as the original tires listed on thetire placard, and they must be installedon all four wheels. Mixing tires ofdifferent size or construction on yourvehicle can adversely affect yourvehicle's handling and braking, and maylead to loss of vehicle control.
Only use snow chains on rear wheels.Install snow chains in pairs. Do not useself-tensioning snow chains.
