2022 FORD BRONCO door lock

When you start the engine, it remainsrunning until you press the push buttonignition switch, even if your vehicle doesnot detect a valid passive key. If you openand close a door when the engine isrunning, the system searches for a validpassive key.

ENGINE BLOCK HEATERPRECAUTIONS
WARNING: Failure to follow engineblock heater instructions could result inproperty damage or serious personalinjury.
WARNING: Do not use your heaterwith ungrounded electrical systems ortwo-pronged adapters. There is a risk ofelectrical shock.
WARNING: Do not fully close thehood, or allow it to drop under its ownweight when using the engine blockheater. This could damage the powercable and may cause an electrical shortresulting in fire, injury and propertydamage.
We recommend that you do the followingfor a safe and correct operation:
•Use a 16-gauge outdoor extension cordthat is product certified byUnderwriter’s Laboratory (UL) orCanadian Standards Association(CSA). This extension cord must besuitable for use outdoors, in cold
temperatures, and be clearly markedSuitable for Use with OutdoorAppliances. Do not use an indoorextension cord outdoors. This couldresult in an electric shock or become afire hazard.
•Use as short an extension cord aspossible.
•Do not use multiple extension cords.
•Make sure that when in operation, theextension cord plug and heater cordplug connections are free and clear ofwater. This could cause an electricshock or fire.
•If the block heater cord is under thehood, do not remove the wiring fromits original location. Do not close thehood on the extension wiring.
•Make sure your vehicle is parked in aclean area, clear of combustibles.
•Make sure the heater, heater cord andextension cord are firmly connected.
•Check for heat anywhere in theelectrical hookup once the system hasbeen operating for about 30 minutes.
•Make sure the system is unplugged andproperly stowed before starting anddriving your vehicle. Make sure theprotective cover seals the prongs of theblock heater cord plug when not in use.
•Make sure the heater system ischecked for proper operation beforewinter.
HOW DOES THE ENGINE BLOCKHEATER WORK
The engine block heater warms the enginecoolant. This allows the climate controlsystem to quickly respond. The equipmentincludes a heater element installed in theengine block and a wire harness. You canconnect the system to a grounded220-240 volt AC electrical source.

Note:The heater is most effective whenoutdoor temperatures are below 0°F(-18°C).
USING THE ENGINE BLOCKHEATER
Make sure the receptacle terminals areclean and dry prior to use. Clean them witha dry cloth if necessary.
The heater uses 0.4 to 1.0 kilowatt-hoursof energy per hour of use. The system doesnot have a thermostat. It achievesmaximum temperature afterapproximately three hours of operation.Using the heater longer than three hoursdoes not improve system performance andunnecessarily uses electricity.
STOPPING THE ENGINE
STOPPING THE ENGINE WHENYOUR VEHICLE IS STATIONARY -MANUAL TRANSMISSION
1.Shift into neutral.
2.Apply the parking brake.
3.Wait until the engine reaches idlespeed.
4.Press the push button ignition switch.

1.Shift into park (P).

STOPPING THE ENGINE WHENYOUR VEHICLE IS MOVING -MANUAL TRANSMISSION
WARNING: Switching off theengine when your vehicle is still movingresults in a significant decrease inbraking assistance. Higher effort isrequired to apply the brakes and to stopyour vehicle. A significant decrease insteering assistance could also occur. Thesteering does not lock, but higher effortcould be required to steer your vehicle.When you switch the ignition off, someelectrical circuits, for example airbags,also turn off. If you unintentionally switchthe ignition off, shift into neutral (N) andrestart the engine.

WHAT IS TRAIL CONTROL
WARNING: The system does notcontrol speed in low traction conditionsor extremely steep slopes. The systemis designed to be an aid and does notrelieve you of your responsibility to drivewith due care and attention. Failure tofollow this instruction could result inpersonal injury.
Trail control lets you focus on steeringduring low-speed and off-road use bycontrolling your vehicle's acceleration andbraking to maintain the speed that you set.
You may hear a noise from the anti-lockbrake system pump motor when you usethe system. This is normal.
TRAIL CONTROL LIMITATIONS
Trail control is unavailable when any of thefollowing occur:
•Your vehicle speed is greater than20 mph (32 km/h) in two-wheel drivehigh (2H) or four-wheel drive high (4H)modes.
•Your vehicle speed is greater than9 mph (15 km/h) in four-wheel drivelow (4L) mode.
•Your vehicle speed is greater than5 mph (8 km/h) in reverse (R).
•The transmission is in park (P).
•The driver side door is open or yourseatbelt is off when the driver side dooris removed.
•Cruise control is on.
•Pro trailer backup assist is on.
SWITCHING TRAIL CONTROL
ON AND OFF
Press the button on the center console.
Note:If your vehicle is equipped with trailone pedal drive, this will activate trail onepedal drive if you are in four wheel drive high(4H) or four wheel drive low (4L) mode,until you set a speed for trail control.
The system switches off if you press thebutton again or exceed 40 mph (64 km/h).

Note:The buttons are on the steeringwheel.
Drive to the speed you prefer.
Press the button to set orincrease the set speed. Pressand hold to adjust the speed inlarger increments.

1.Loosen the upper and lower hingemounting bolts.
2.Add or remove shims as necessary toattain proper latch alignment, startwith no shims.
3.Tighten the upper and lower hingemounting bolts, but do not apply finaltorque.
4.Disengage the latch from the strikerand confirm proper alignment.
5.Tighten the upper and lower hingemounting bolts to 41 lb.ft (55 Nm).
Removing the Doors
WARNING: Removal of doors foroff-road use only. Removing the doorsfrom the vehicle will affect protectionprovided by the doors and may affectsafety system performance, includingsafety canopy and front seat mountedside airbags, during a crash or rollover.
1.Switch your vehicle off.
2.Fold the mirrors completely toward thefront of your vehicle before removingthe front doors.
3.Fully open the door you are removing.
4.Use the provided hex tool to loosenand remove the lower hinge bolt.
5.Loosen and remove the upper hingebolt.
Note:You can store the hinge bolts in thetool pouch zipped pocket, if needed.
6.Lift the door vertically to separate itfrom the vehicle.
Note:Use caution when removing the doorsas they are heavy.
Note:Store the doors in a secure area.
Note:Store the doors out of the elementsto prevent damage.
7.To remove additional doors, repeatsteps 3-6.
8.Return the hex tool to the tool kit andsecure the tool kit in the vehicle’scenter console.
9.Return the mirrors to the drivingposition.
Note:When you remove the doors, the rearseat occupant alert no longer functions.
Cleaning the Tube Doors
We recommend that you wash the tubedoors with mild soap and rinse with astandard pressure water hose. Whilerinsing, avoid spraying water directly ontothe latch mechanism. Dry with a microfibercloth or leave to air dry.

5.Repeat the steps to remove thepassenger side panel front roof panel.
6.Store the front roof panels in thestorage bag. See Storing the RoofPanels (page 366). See Storing theDoors and the Roof Panels (page360).
7.To install, reverse the removalprocedure.
REMOVING AND INSTALLING THECENTER ROOF PANEL - 4-DOOR
Remove both of the front roof panelsbefore removing the center roof panel.
1.Turn the three L-shaped latches on thecenter roof panel, unlocking them fromthe rear roof panel.
2.Unlatch the driver side and passengerside latches of the center roof panel.
3.Remove the center roof panel.
4.To install, reverse the removalprocedure.
REMOVING AND INSTALLING THEREAR ROOF PANEL - 2-DOOR
Remove the front panels before removingthe rear roof panel.
1.Open the rear doors.
2.Open the tailgate window. SeeOpening and Closing the Windows(page 103).
3.Locate the wire harness and washerhose on the driver side rear insidecorner of the vehicle.
4.Release the locking tab by pushing itdown.
5.Push the tab inward when pulling downto disconnect and remove the wiringharness.
6.Push the release button on the hoseconnector and pull down to removethe washer hose.

7.Secure the wiring harness to the bodyside by plugging it into the receptacleand pushing up on the locking tab.
8.Secure the washer hose by snapping itinto the top of the body sidereceptacle.
9.Remove the four fasteners on each sideof your vehicle that secure the rear roofpanel to the vehicle using the providedhead driver and ratchet.
10.With the tailgate window open, grabthe opening with one hand andslightly lift with the other hand. Liftthe rear roof panel straight up andoff. Place the rear roof panel on a softsurface to prevent damage.
Note:Store the rear roof panel with thetailgate window open to prevent damageto the glass seal.
11.To install, reverse the removalprocedure. Torque the fasteners thatsecure the rear roof panel to yourvehicle to 15 ± 2 lb.ft (20 ± 3 Nm).
Note:Make sure the locating pins on therear roof panel sit flush in your vehicle wheninstalled.
Note:Do not overtighten the fasteners. Youcan strip the fasteners if they areovertightened.
REMOVING AND INSTALLING THEREAR ROOF PANEL - 4-DOOR
Remove the front panels and center panelbefore removing the rear roof panel.
1.Open the rear doors.
2.Open the tailgate window. SeeOpening and Closing the Windows(page 103).

STORING THE DOORS AND
THE ROOF PANELS - 4-DOOR
(IF EQUIPPED)
WARNING: Do not store removeddoors or roof panels in vehicle withoutusing the Ford onboard storage kit, andverifying they have been secured perinstructions. Failure to follow thisinstruction could result in personal injuryor death.
Note:Cargo can shift under severe vehicleuse, to reduce the risk of damage, avoid highspeed or extreme rock crawl off-roadsituations when storing the doors in thecargo area.
Note:Inspect the bags and harnessperiodically to make sure they are notdamaged. Inspect the door retentionharness straps to make sure there are nonicks, tears or cuts. Replace if necessary.
Note:Clean the roof panels and doors priorto storing them in the bags as dirt maydamage the finish.
Storing the Front Roof Panels
1.Remove the front roof panels. SeeRemoving and Installing the FrontRoof Panel (page 350).
2.Open the bag and pull out the divider.Place the first panel into the bag.Replace the divider before placing thesecond panel into the bag.
3.Zip the bag closed.
4.Gently slide the roof panel bag into thecargo area.

3.Wash out debris using a standardgarden style hose.
Note:Use caution to not spray seats,console, door interior, electrical connections,instrument cluster display and underside ofthe instrument panel on both driver andpassenger sides.
4.Wipe out remaining water or debrisfrom the floor.
5.Install active drain plugs and turnclockwise to close.
6.Reinstall floor mats.
CLEANING SEATBELTS
WARNING: Do not use cleaningsolvents, bleach or dye on the vehicle'sseatbelts, as these actions may weakenthe belt webbing.
1.Wipe the surface with a soft, dampcloth and a mild soap and watersolution. Dry the area with a clean, softcloth.
REPAIRING MINOR PAINT
DAMAGE
Authorized dealers have touch-up paint tomatch your vehicle’s color. Your vehiclecolor code is printed on a sticker on thefront, left-hand side door jamb. Take yourcolor code to your authorized dealer tomake sure you get the correct color.
Before repairing minor paint damage, usea cleaner to remove particles such as birddroppings, tree sap, insect deposits, tarspots, road salt and industrial fallout.
Read the instructions before using cleaningproducts.
WAXING YOUR VEHICLE
Wax the high-gloss painted surface of yourprewashed vehicle once or twice a year.
We recommend that you only use anapproved quality wax that does notcontain abrasives. Follow themanufacturer's instructions to apply andremove the wax. For additional informationand assistance, we recommend that youcontact an authorized dealer.
When washing and waxing, park yourvehicle in a shaded area out of directsunlight.
Note:Avoid waxing unpainted or low-glossblack colored parts, they discolor over time.
