7Control unit (mode 2)
Type 1
Type 2POWER
Green: electrical connection established;
charging can begin.
CHARGE
Flashing green: charging in progress or
temperature pre-conditioning activated.
Fixed green: charging complete.
FAULT
Red: fault; charging not permitted or must
be stopped immediately. Check that everything
is connected correctly and that the electrical
system is not faulty.
If the indicator lamp does not go off, contact a
CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
Upon plugging the charging cable into a
domestic socket, all of the indicator lamps come
on briefly.
If no indicator lamps come on, check the
domestic socket's circuit-breaker.
–
If the circuit-breaker has tripped, contact a
professional to check that your electricity supply
is compatible and carry out any necessary
repairs.
–
If the circuit-breaker has not tripped, stop
using the charging cable and contact a
CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
Type 1 control unit label
- Recommendations
1. Refer to the handbook before use. 2.
Incorrect use of this charging cable may
result in fire, property damage and serious
injury or death by electrocution!
3. Always use a correctly earthed power
socket, protected by a 30 mA residual
current device.
4. Always use an electrical socket protected
by a circuit-breaker appropriate for the
electrical circuit’s current rating.
5. The weight of the control unit must not be
borne by the electrical socket, plug and
cables.
6. Never use this charging cable if it is
defective or in any way damaged.
7. Never attempt to repair or open this
charging cable. It contains no repairable
parts - replace the charging cable if it is
damaged.
8. Never immerse this charging cable in water.
9. Never use this charging cable with an
extension cable, a multi-plug socket, a
conversion adaptor or on a damaged
electrical socket.
10. Do not unplug the plug from the wall as a
means of stopping charging.
11 . Do not force the connector if it is locked into
the vehicle.
12. Immediately stop charging, by locking and
then unlocking the vehicle using the remote
control key, if the charging cable or wall
socket feel burning hot to the touch.

Practical information
► Gently tilt the screen downwards.
► Pull it towards you to free the entire unit.
For the lower centre screen
► Insert a flat blade screwdriver into each of
the screen's orifices and prise out the 5 clips to
unclip them.
► Pull it towards you to free the entire unit.
Fitting
► Place one of the side screens against the
corresponding side of the lower bumper grille.
► Insert the mounting tabs into the bumper until
they are all properly seated.
► Check that the unit is firmly held by pressing
around the edges.
Repeat the same operations for the other side
screen, then for the lower centre screen in the
lower part of the bumper.
functions, such as the air conditioning and the
heated rear screen.
The deactivated functions are reactivated
automatically as soon as conditions permit.
Snow chains
In wintry conditions, snow chains improve
traction as well as the behaviour of the vehicle
when braking.
The snow chains must be fitted only to the front wheels. They must never be
fitted to "space-saver" type spare wheels.
Take account of the legislation specific to each country on the use of snow chains
and the maximum authorised speed.
Use only chains designed to be fitted to the type
of wheel fitted to the vehicle:
Original tyre size Maximum link size 215/65 R17 9 mm
225/55 R18 9 mm
235/55 R18 Cannot be fitted with
chains
205/55 R19 9 mm
For more information on snow chains, contact a
CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
Installation tips
► To fit the chains during a journey, stop the
vehicle on a flat surface on the side of the road.
►
Apply the parking brake and position any
wheel chocks under the wheels to prevent
movement of the vehicle.
►
Fit the chains following the instructions
provided by the manufacturer
.
►
Move off gently and drive for a few moments,
without exceeding 31
mph (50 km/h).
►
Stop the vehicle and check that the snow
chains are correctly tightened.
It is strongly recommended that before
you leave, you practise fitting the snow
chains on a level and dry surface.
Avoid driving with snow chains on roads that have been cleared of snow to avoid
damaging the vehicle's tyres and the road
surface. If the vehicle is fitted with alloy
wheels, check that no part of the chain or its
fixings is in contact with the wheel rim.
Very cold climate screen
(Depending on country of sale)
This removable device prevents the
accumulation of snow around the radiator
cooling fan.
It consists of two elements for the lower part of
the front bumper and another element for the
lower central part.
In case of difficulty with installation/
removal
Contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified
workshop.
Before any operation, ensure that the
engine is off and the cooling fan has
stopped.
It is essential to remove them when:
– the outside temperature exceeds
10°C.
–
recovery is in progress.
–
the speed is above 75 mph (120
km/h).
Removing
For the side screens
► Insert a flat blade screwdriver into each of
the screen's orifices and prise out the 4
clips to
unclip them.

Practical information
7Once the pressure has dropped, remove the cap
and top up to the required level.
Cooling of the engine when stopped
The engine cooling fan may start after
the engine has been switched off.
Take care with objects or clothing that
could be caught in the blades of the fan!
Screenwash fluid
Top up to the required level when necessary.
Fluid specification
The fluid must be topped up with a pre-mixed
product.
In winter (temperatures below zero), a fluid
containing an anti-freeze agent which is
appropriate for the temperature conditions
must be used in order to protect the system's
components (pump, tank, ducts, jets).
Filling with pure water is prohibited in all
circumstances (risk of freezing,
limescale, etc.).
Diesel fuel additive (Diesel
with particle filter)
or On reaching the minimum level
in the particle filter additive tank,
this warning lamp comes on fixed, accompanied
by an audible signal and a warning message.
Topping up
This additive must be topped up without delay by
a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
AdBlue® (BlueHDi)
An alert is triggered when the reserve level is
reached.
For more information on the Indicators and in
particular the AdBlue range indicators, refer to
the corresponding section.
To avoid the vehicle being immobilised in
accordance with regulations, you must top up the
AdBlue tank.
For more information on AdBlue
® (BlueHDi),
and in particular the supply of AdBlue, refer to
the corresponding section.
Checks
Unless otherwise indicated, check these
components in accordance with the
manufacturer's service schedule and according
to your engine.
Otherwise, have them checked by a CITROËN
dealer or a qualified workshop.
Only use products recommended by
CITROËN or products of equivalent
quality and specification.
In order to optimise the operation of
components as important as those in the
braking system, CITROËN selects and offers
very specific products.
12 V battery
The battery does not require any maintenance.
However, check regularly that the terminals
are correctly tightened (versions without quick
release terminals) and that the connections are
clean.
For more information on the precautions
to take before any work on the 12 V
battery, refer to the corresponding section.
Versions equipped with Stop & Start are
fitted with a 12 V lead-acid battery of
specific technology and specification.
Its replacement should be carried out only by
a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
Passenger compartment
filter
Depending on the environment and the
use of the vehicle (e.g. dusty atmosphere,
city driving), change it twice as often, if
necessary .
A clogged passenger compartment filter
can adversely affect air conditioning
system performance and generate
undesirable odours.
