Keyless Access
If equipped, the RKE transmitter must
be within 1 m (3 ft) of the liftgate or
door being opened.
To lock or unlock the vehicle from the
driver door:
.Press the button on the driver door
handle once to unlock the driver
door only.
.Press the button again within
five seconds to unlock all doors.
.Press the button a third time to lock
all doors.
To lock or unlock the vehicle from any
passenger door:
.Press the button on the passenger
door handle. This will lock or
unlock all doors.

Driver Door Key Lock Cylinder
Access (In Case of Dead Battery)
To access the driver door key lock
cylinder: 1. Pull the door handle (1) to the open position and hold it open
until the cap removal is complete.
2. Insert the key into the slot (3) on the bottom of the cap (2) and lift
the key upward. 3. Move the cap (2) rearward and
remove.
4. Use the key in the cylinder.
To replace the cap: 1. Pull the door handle (1) to the open position and hold it open
until the cap installation is
complete.
2. Insert the two tabs (6) at the backof the cap between the seal (5) and
the metal base (4).

{Warning
Using a match near a battery can
cause battery gas to explode. People
have been hurt doing this, and
some have been blinded. Use a
flashlight if you need more light.
Battery fluid contains acid that can
burn you. Do not get it on you.
If you accidentally get it in your
eyes or on your skin, flush the place
with water and get medical help
immediately.
{Warning
Fans or other moving engine parts
can injure you badly. Keep your
hands away from moving parts
once the engine is running.
5. Connect one end of the red positive (+) cable to the discharged
battery positive (+) terminal.
6. Connect the other end of the red positive (+) cable to the good
battery positive (+) terminal. 7. Connect one end of the black
negative (–) cable to the good
battery negative (–) terminal.
8. Connect the other end of the black negative (–) cable to the discharged
battery negative (–) grounding
point.
9. Start the engine in the vehicle with the good battery and run the
engine at idle speed for at least
four minutes.
10. Try to start the vehicle that had the dead battery. If it will not start
after a few tries, it probably needs
service.Caution
If the jumper cables are connected
or removed in the wrong order,
electrical shorting may occur and
damage the vehicle. The repairs
would not be covered by the vehicle
warranty. Always connect and
remove the jumper cables in the
correct order, making sure that the
cables do not touch each other or
other metal. Jumper Cable Removal
Reverse the sequence exactly when
removing the jumper cables.
After starting the disabled vehicle and
removing the jumper cables, allow it
to idle for several minutes.
Towing the Vehicle
Caution
Incorrectly transporting a disabled
vehicle may cause damage to the
vehicle. Use proper tire straps to
secure the vehicle to the flatbed
tow truck. Do not strap or hook to
any frame, underbody,
or suspension component not
specified below. Do not move
vehicles with drive axle tires on the
ground. Damage is not covered by
the vehicle warranty.
Caution
The vehicle may be equipped with
an electric parking brake and/or an
electronic shifter. In the event of a

loss of 12-volt battery power, the
electric parking brake cannot be
released, and the vehicle cannot be
shifted to N (Neutral). Tire skates
or dollies must be used under the
non-rolling tires to prevent damage
while loading/unloading the vehicle.
Dragging the vehicle will cause
damage not covered by the vehicle
warranty.
Caution
The vehicle may be equipped with a
tow eye. Improper use of the tow
eye may cause damage to the
vehicle and is not covered by the
vehicle warranty. If equipped, use
the tow eye to load the vehicle onto
a flatbed tow truck from a flat road
surface, or to move the vehicle a
very short distance at a walking
pace. The tow eye is not designed
for off-road recovery. The vehicle(Continued)

must be in N (Neutral) with the
electric parking brake released
when using the tow eye.
Contact a professional towing service
if the disabled vehicle must be
transported. GM recommends a
flatbed tow truck to transport a
disabled vehicle. Use ramps to help
reduce approach angles, if necessary.
If equipped, a tow eye may be located
near the spare tire or emergency jack.
Do not use the tow eye to pull the
vehicle from the snow, mud, sand,
or ditch. Tow eye threads may have
right or left-hand threads. Use caution
when installing or removing the
tow eye.
The vehicle must be in N (Neutral)
and the electric parking brake must be
released when loading the vehicle
onto a flatbed tow truck.
.If the vehicle is equipped with car
wash mode and has 12-volt battery
power, refer to “Car Wash Mode ”
under Automatic Transmission 0233
to place the vehicle in N (Neutral).
.If the 12-volt battery is dead and/or
the engine will not start, the vehicle
will not move. Try to jump start the
vehicle. Refer to Jump Starting -
North America 0364 and if the
jump start is successful, retry the
“Car Wash Mode ”procedure.
.If jump starting is unsuccessful, the
vehicle will not move. Tire skates or
dollies must be used under the
non-rolling tires to prevent vehicle
damage.
Front Attachment Points
The vehicle is equipped with specific
attachment points to be used by the
towing provider. These holes may be

When calling Roadside Service, have
the following information ready:

.Telephone number of your location
.Location of the vehicle
.Model, year, color, and license plate
number of the vehicle
.Odometer reading, Vehicle
Identification Number (VIN), and
delivery date of the vehicle
.Description of the problem
Coverage
Services are provided for the duration
of the vehicle’s powertrain warranty.In the U.S., anyone driving the vehicle
is covered. In Canada, a person driving
the vehicle without permission from
the owner is not covered.
Roadside Service is not a part of the
New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
General Motors North America and
Cadillac reserve the right to make any
changes or discontinue the Roadside
Service program at any time without
notification.
General Motors North America and
Cadillac reserve the right to limit
services or payment to an owner or
driver if they decide the claims are
made too often, or the same type of
claim is made many times.
Cadillac Owner Privileges
™
.Emergency Fuel Delivery: Delivery
of enough fuel for the vehicle to get
to the nearest service station.
.Lock-Out Service: Service to unlock
the vehicle if you are locked out.
A remote unlock may be available if
you have OnStar. For security
reasons, the driver must present
identification before this service is
given.
.Emergency Tow from a Public
Road or Highway: Tow to the
nearest Cadillac dealer for warranty
service, or if the vehicle was in a
crash and cannot be driven.
Assistance is not given when the
vehicle is stuck in the sand, mud,
or snow.
.Flat Tire Change: Service to change
a flat tire with a spare tire. The
spare tire, if equipped, must be in
good condition and properly
inflated. It is your responsibility for
the repair or replacement of the tire
if it is not covered by the warranty.
.Battery Jump Start: Service to
jump start a dead battery.
.Trip Interruption Benefits and
Service: If your trip is interrupted
due to a warranty failure, incidental
expenses may be reimbursed during
the Powertrain warranty period.
Items considered are hotel, meals,
and rental car or a vehicle being
delivered back to the customer, up
to 500 miles.
