of the brake pedal m ay be shown while
the driving suppor t systems such as
PCS (Pre-Collis ion system) (if
equipped) or the dynamic radar cruise
control with full- speed range (if
equipped) is operating. If a warning
message is shown, be sure to deceler -
ate the vehicle or follow an instruction

■If “Engine Oil Level Low Add or
Replace” is displayed
The engine oil level may be low. Check
the level of the engine oil, and add
engine oil if necessary. This message may be displayed if the vehicle is
stopped on a slope. Move the vehicle to
a level surface and check if the mes - sage disappears.
■If a message that indicates the mal -
function of fron t camera is dis-

NOTICE
■“High Power Consumption Par- tial Limit On AC/Heater Opera -
tion” is frequently shown
There is a possible malfunction relat - ing to the chargin g system or the 12-
volt battery may b e deteriorating.
Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota
authorized repairer, or any reliable
repairer.
■If “Maintenance required For

scheduled to be inspected or
replaced. Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota retailer or
Toyota authorized repairer, or any
reliable repairer immediately.
●Continuing to drive the vehicle with -
out having the hybr id battery (trac-
tion battery) inspected will cause the hybrid system not to start.
●If the hybrid system does not start, contact any autho rized Toyota
retailer or Toyota authorized
repairer, or any reliable repairer immediately.

repairer as soon as possible.
6 Start the hybrid system and turn
the air conditioning system on to
check that the radiator cooling
fan operates and to check for
coolant leaks from the radiator
or hoses.
The fan operates when the air condi -
tioning system is turned on immediately
after a cold start. Confirm that the fan is operating by check ing the fan sound
and air flow. If it is difficult to check
these, adjust the temperature control switch to “LO” and turn the “A/C” switch
ON and OFF. After t his, turn the air
conditioning system o n and off repeat- edly. (The fan may not operate in freez-
ing temperatures.)
7 If the fan is not operating:
Stop the hybrid system immedi -
ately and contact any authorized
Toyota retailer or Toyota autho -
rized repairer, or any reliable
repairer.
If the fan is operating:
Have the vehicle inspected at
the nearest authorized Toyota
retailer or Toyota authorized
repairer, or any reliable repairer.

WARNING
■When inspecting under the hood of your vehicle
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may result in serious injury such as burns.
●If steam is seen coming from under
the hood, do not open the hood until the steam has subsided. The
engine compartment may be very
hot.
●After the hybrid system has been
turned off, check that the “READY” indicator is off.
When the hybrid system is operat -
ing, the gasoline engine may auto - matically start, or the cooling fan
may suddenly operate even if the
gasoline engine stops. Do not touch or approach rotatin g parts such as
the fan, which may lead to fingers
or clothing (especia lly a tie, a scarf or a muffler) getting caught, result -
ing in serious injury.
●Do not loosen the c oolant reservoir
cap while t he hybrid system and
radiator are hot. High temperature steam or coolant
could spray out.
NOTICE
■When adding engine/power con -
trol unit coolant
Add coolant slowly after the hybrid system has cooled down sufficiently.
Adding cool coolant to a hot hybrid
system too quickly can cause dam- age to the hybrid system.
■To prevent damage to the cool -
ing system
Observe the following precautions:
●Avoid contaminating the coolant
with foreign matter (such as sand or dust, etc.).
●Do not use any coolant additive.

■Oil capacity (Drain and refill ⎯ reference*)
*: The engine oil capacity is a reference quantity to be used when changing the
engine oil. Warm up the engine and turning off the hybrid system, wait more than
5 minutes, and check the oi l level on the dipstick.
■Engine oil selection
“Toyota Genuine Motor Oil” is used
in your Toyota veh icle. Toyota rec-
ommends the use of approved
“Toyota Genuine Motor Oil”.
Another motor oil of matching qual -
ity can also be used.
Oil grade:
0W-16:
API grade SN “Resource-Conserv -
ing” or SN PLUS “Resource-Con -
serving” multigrade engine oil
0W-20 and 5W-30:
API grade SL “Energy-Conserving”,
SM “Energy-Conserving”, SN
“Resource-Conserving” or SN
PLUS “Resource-Conserving”; or
ILSAC multigrade engine oil
Recommended visc osity (SAE):
SAE 0W-16 is filled into your
Toyota vehicle at manufacturing,
and the best choice for good fuel
economy and good starting in cold
weather.
If SAE 0W-16 oil is not available,
SAE 0W-20 oil may be used. How -
ever, it should be replaced with
SAE 0W-16 at the next oil change.
