The rechargeable hybrid technology combines
two sources of energy: that of the petrol engine
and that of one or two electric motors (depending
on version).
The engine and the motor can operate
alternately or simultaneously, according to the
driving mode selected and the driving conditions. The electric power alone provides the mobility
of the vehicle in
Electric mode, and in Hybrid
mode in case of moderate demand. It assists the
petrol engine during starting and acceleration
phases.
The electric power is supplied by a rechargeable
traction battery.
