ing tra1c when reve rsing and manoeuvring out of
a parking space. The radar sensors in the bumper
also monitor the area adjacent totheve hicle. If a
critical situation is de tected, theL symbol
appears in the media display and theve hicle can
be braked automaticall y.

ailer Manoeuv ring Assist assists you when
re ve rsing with a trailer. By means of a turning
angle sensor in the trailer coupling, Trailer
Manoeuv ring Assist moni tors the articulation
angle between theve hicle and trailer and adjusts
it to a speci/ed value.
Tr ailer Manoeuv ring Assist is only an aid. It is not
a substitute foryo ur attention tothe sur round-
ings. The responsibility for safe manoeuvring and
parking remains with you. Make sure that there
are no persons, animals or objects in the manoeu-
vring area while manoeuvring and parking in/exit-
ing parking spaces.
Yo u can either enter the articulation angle value
directly via the multimedia system or use a Driving and parking

tening manoeuvre. When ca rrying out a
straigh tening manoeuvre, the system calculates
th e articulation angle automatically and straight-
ens theve hicle/trailer combination tothe trailer's
cur rent direction.

the length of the trailer. This is calculated by

including cornering. Before the length of the
trailer has been calcula ted, the maximum
articulation angle is appr oximately 23°. The
longer the trailer is, the higher the maximum
