BLED FRONT AIR BAG. This can result in

Always mo vethe front passenger seat as
fa r back as possible and fully retract the
seat cushion length adjustment. While
doing so, alw ays make sure that the
shoulder belt st rap is cor rectly routed
from the seat belt outlet of theve hicle to
th e shoulder belt guide on thech ild re
straint system. The shoulder belt strap
must be routed forw ards and down wards
from the seat belt outlet. If necessar y,
adjust the front passenger seat accord-
ingl y. #
Always comply with thech ild restraint
system manufactu rer's installation

automatically when theve hicle pulls away.
If an accident did not occur, the pre-em ptive
measures that we re ta ken are reve rsed.

Depending on the type and se verity of the acci-
dent, and depending on theve hicle's equipment,
th efo llowing measures can be implemented, for
ex ample:
R automatic braking (post-collision brake)
R activating the hazard warning lights
R triggering an automatic emer gency call

R switching o. the engine
To start theve hicle again, switch theve hicle
o. and on once more (/ page 169). Depend-
ing on the type and se verity of the accident,
yo u may no longer be able tostart theve hicle.

cle is in motion #
Before starting theve hicle: in particular,
adjust the driver's seat, head restraint,
stee ring wheel and mir ror,and fasten
yo ur seat belt. &

If yo u adjust the seat height carelessl y,yo u or
ot her vehicle occupants could be trapped and

Children in particular could accidentally press

va te the easy entry‑ and exitfeature, particu-

ke y with you and lock theve hicle. When
the easy entry and exitfeature is active, the
driver's seat will mo vebackwards and the bac k-
re st will be mo vedto a steeper position when:
R You switch the ignition o. when the driver's
door is open
R You open the driver's door when the ignition is
switched o. %
The driver's seat will then mo vebackwards
only if it is not already at there ar of the seat
adjustment range.
The seat backrest will then mo ve forwards
only if it is not already at the front of the bac k-
re st adjustment range.
The driver's seat will mo veback tothe last drive
position when:
R You switch the ignition on with the driver's
door closed.
R You close the driver's door when the ignition is
switched on
The last drive position will be sa ved when:
R You switch the ignition o..
R You call up the seat settings via the memory
function.
R You sa vethe seat settings via the memory
