the automatic transmission is shiTed to
position h,you can manually shiT it with the
stee ring wheel gearshiT paddle. If permitted, the
automatic transmission shiTs toa higher or lo wer
ge ar depending on the steering wheel gearshiT
paddle being pulled.

R The combustion engine is disconnected from

Glide mode is activated if thefo llowing conditions
are met:
R Drive prog ram ; is selected.
R The speed is within a suitable range. R
The road's course is suitable, e.g. no steep
uphill or downhill inclines or tight bends.
R There is no trailer hitched up tothe trailer
hitch, and no bicycle rack Fitted.
R You do not depress the accelerator or brake

Immediately depress the brake pedal /rmly
until thewa rning message disappears.
The HOLD function is deactivated.
A horn sounds at regular inter vals if, despite the
Brake immediately message,you switch o. the
ve hicle, remo veyour seat belt and open the driv-
er's door. If you attem pttolock theve hicle, the horn
tone becomes louder. The vehicle cann otbe
loc ked until you ha vedeactivated the HOLD func-
tion.

cannot restart it until you ha vedeactivated

If th eve hicle is braked sharply from speeds abo ve
50 km/h, the brake lamps 0ash rapidl y.This pro-
vides tra1c tr avelling behind you with an even
more noticeable warning.
If th eve hicle is tr avelling at speeds of more than
70 km/h at the beginning of the brake applica-
tion, the hazard warning lights switch on once the
ve hicle is stationar y.When you pull away again,
th e hazard warning lights will switch o. automati-
