Turbocharger Information (SKYACTIV-G 2.5T,SKYACTIV-D 2.2)
CAUTION
After driving at freeway speeds or up a long h ill, idle the engine at least 30 seconds before
stopping it. Otherwise, the turbocharger could be damaged.
 Racing or over-revving the engine, particularly after it's just been started, can damage the
turbocharger.
 To protect the engine from damage, the engine is designed so that it cannot be raced just
after starting it in extremely cold weather.
The turbocharger greatly enhances engine power. Its advanced design provides improved
operation and requires minimum maintenance.

To get the most from it, observe the following.
1. Change engine oil and filter according to Scheduled Maintenan ce (page 6-4).
2. Use only recommended engine oil (page 6-22). Extra additives are NOT recommended.

If 19,200 km (12,000 miles) or mo re, top up with new diesel exhaust fluid in the urea tank.
If less than 19,200 km (12,000 mile s), replace diesel exhaust fluid in the urea tank.
*3 Replace when glow indicator light is continuously ON. Authoriz ed Mazda dealer can replace all the glow
plugs without charge if indicator light comes ON earlier than 240,000 km (150,000 miles).
*4 The engine oil and filter must b e changed at least once a year or within 12,000 km (7,500 miles) since last
engine oil and filter change. Re set the engine oil data whenever replacing the engine oil regardless of the
message/wrench indicator light display.
*5 Use of FL-22 is recommended when replacing engine coolant. Using engine coolant other than FL-22 may
cause serious damage to the engine and cooling system.
*6 According to state/provincial and federal regulations, failure to perform maintenance on these items will not
void your emissions warranties. H owever, Mazda recommends that all maintenance services be performed at
the recommended time or mileage/kilometer period to ensure long -term reliability.
*7 Check the tire repair fluid expiration date every year when performing the periodic maintenance. Replace the
