■Cleaning the areas with satin-finish metal accents
The metal areas use a layer of real metal for th
e surface. It is necessary to clean them reg-
ularly. If dirty areas are left uncleaned for lo ng periods of time, they may be difficult to
clean.
■Caring for leather areas
Lexus recommends cleaning the interior of the vehicle at least twice a year to maintain
the quality of the vehicle’s interior.
■Shampooing the carpets
There are several commercial foaming-type cl eaners available. Use a sponge or brush to
apply the foam. Rub in overlapping circles. Do not use water. The excellent results are
obtained when keeping the ca rpet as dry as possible.
■Seat belts
Clean with mild soap and lukewarm water using a cloth or sponge. Also check the belts
periodically for excessive wear, fraying or cuts.
WARNING
■Water in the vehicle
●Do not splash or spill liquid in the vehicle.
Doing so may cause electrical components etc. to malfunction or catch fire.
●Do not get any of the SRS components or wiring in the vehicle interior wet. (P. 38)
An electrical malfunction ma y cause the airbags to deploy or not function properly,
resulting in death or serious injury.
■Cleaning the interior (especially instrument panel)
Do not use polish wax or polish cleaner. Th e instrument panel may reflect off the wind-
shield, obstructing the driver’s view and leading to an accident, resulting in death or
serious injury.
NOTICE
■Cleaning detergents
●Do not use the following types of detergent, as they may discolor the vehicle interior
or cause streaks or damage to painted surfaces:
• Non-seat portions: Organic substances su ch as benzene or gasoline, alkaline or
acidic solutions, dye, and bleach
• Seats: Alkaline or acidic solutions, su ch as thinner, benzene, and alcohol
●Do not use polish wax or polish cleaner. The instrument pane l’s or other interior part’s
painted surface may be damaged.

■After a fuse is replaced
●If the lights do not turn on even after the fuse has been replaced, a bulb may need
replacement. (

●If the replaced fuse blows again, have th e vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer.
■If there is an overload in a circuit
The fuses are designed to blow, protecting the wiring harness from damage.
WARNING
■To prevent system breakdowns and vehicle fire
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may cause damage to th e vehicle, and possibly a fire or injury.
●Never use a fuse of a higher amperage rati ng than indicated, or use any other object
in place of a fuse.
●Always use a genuine Lexus fuse or equivalent.
Never replace a fuse with a wi re, even as a temporary fix.
●Do not modify the fuses or the fuse boxes.
NOTICE
■Before replacing fuses
Have the cause of electrical overload dete rmined and repaired by your Lexus dealer,
as soon as possible.

*1: This light illuminates on the multi-information display.
*2: Open door warning buzzer: The open door warning buzzer sounds to al ert hood or one or more of the doors or
glass hatch are not fully closed (with the vehicle having reached a speed of 3 mph [5
km/h]).
*3: Driver’s seat belt warning buzzer:
The driver’s seat belt warning buzzer sounds to alert the driver that his or her seat belt
is not fastened. Once the engine switch is turned to ON, the buzzer sounds. If the seat
belt is still unfastened, the buzzer sounds intermittently for a certain period of time
after the vehicle reaches a certain speed.
Front passenger’s seat belt warning buzzer:
The front passenger’s seat belt warning buzzer sounds to alert the front passenger
that his or her seat belt is not fastened. If the seat belt is unfastened, the buzzer sounds
intermittently for a certain period of time after the vehicle reaches a certain speed.
■SRS warning light
This warning light system monitors the airbag sensor assembly, front airbag sensors, side
and curtain shield airbag sensors, rear side and curtain shield airbag sensors, floor sen-
sor, driver’s seat belt buc kle switch, front passenger occupant classification system (ECU
and sensors), “AIR BAG ON” indicator light, “AIR BAG OFF” indicator light, front pas-
senger’s seat belt buckle sw itch, seat belt pretensioner assemblies, airbags, intercon-
necting wiring and power sources. ( P. 36)
■Front passenger detection sensor, seat belt reminder and warning buzzer
●If luggage is placed on the front passenger seat, the front passenger detection sensor
may cause the warning light to flash and the warning buzzer to sound even if a passen-
ger is not sittin g in the seat.
●If a cushion is placed on the seat, the sens or may not detect a passenger, and the warn-
ing light may not operate properly.
■If the malfunction indicator lamp comes on while driving
First check the following:
●Is the fuel tank empty?
If it is, fill the fu el tank immediately.
●Is the fuel tank cap loose?
If it is, tighten it securely.
The light will go off after several driving trips.
If the light does not go off even after severa l trips, contact your Lexus dealer as soon as
possible.
