Idle, Stop & Go (ISG) System
The ISG system is designed to help reduce fuel consumption by automatically shutting
down the engine when the vehicle is at a standstill.
When the ISG system is ON and the vehicle is at a standstill, the engine will stop, and
the green AUTO STOP indicator A on the instrument cluster will illuminate green.
The engine will restart when the brake pedal is released or the shift lever is moved from
D (Drive) to the R (Reverse) position or to Manual Shift mode. When engine restarts, the
green AUTO STOP indicator on the instrument cluster will turn off.
To deactivate the ISG System, press the ISG OFF button B. If you press again, the
system will be activated.

REMINDERS:
• When the ISG system is on and the vehicle is at a standstill, the engine may not stop and the AUTO STOP indicator on the instrument cluster will illuminate YELLOW. This indicates the system is functional but not all enabling criteria have been met.
• ISG is active by default at vehicle startup. When ignition is cycled, ISG will turn ON again
• Under certain conditions, the engine will restart automatically even if the brake pedal is still depressed
• If the AUTO STOP indicator is continuously blinking yellow and the ISG button LED is on, please contact an authorized Kia dealer
•
•The ISG system will not activate when:
– A seat belt is unfastened
– The hood or a door is opened
– Battery condition is not adequate
– The front or rear defroster is turned on
– Engine coolant temperature is low
– The outside ambient temperature is too low/high
– Emission control devices activate
– The vehicle is on a steep slope

Fuel Filler Lid ReleaseFuel Cap / Malfunction Indicator
(Check Engine Light)To open the Fuel Filler lid:
1. Pull the Fuel Filler Door Open Lever A inside the vehicle
(on floor left of Driver’s Seat)
2. Pull the Fuel Filler door to fully open B
To open the Fuel Cap, turn it counterclockwise C
To access the Fuel Cap, pull the Fuel Filler Door
Open Lever A inside the vehicle (on floor left of
Driver’s Seat). Tighten for ONE CLICK to prevent
Malfunction Indicator from illuminating.
REMINDER: It is normal operation when tightening to hear one click, and then when Fuel Cap is released, it clicks back

Opening the Hood:
1. Pull the Hood Release Lever E to unlatch the Hood
2. In the front of the vehicle, lift the Hood slightly, push
the secondary Latch to the front inside of the Hood’s
center and lift the Hood
Closing the Hood:
Lower the Hood by pressing the front center of the Hood.
Then, press down to securely lock in place.

REMINDERS:
• While lowering and closing, keep hands away from under the Hood
• Open the Hood only after turning the engine off, on a flat surface, with the gear shift in P (Park) position and setting the parking brake
• Make sure the hood is securely closed before driving
