Forward Collision-
Avoidance Assist sys-
tem Warning Light
This warning light illuminates :
When the POWER button is in the
ON position.
- It illuminates for approximately 3
seconds and then goes off.
When the FCA system is turned
off.
When the radar sensor (if equipped)
or cover is blocked with dirt or snow.
Check the sensor and cover and
clean them using a soft cloth. (Note
that some models with FCA do not
incorporate a radar sensor.)
When there is a malfunction with
FCA. If this occurs, have your vehi-
cle inspected by an authorized
HYUNDAI dealer.

in chapter 5.
Lane Keeping Assist
system Indicator Light
This indicator light illuminates:
[Green] When the system operat-
ing conditions are satisfied for
LKA.
[White] When system operating
conditions are not satisfied.
[Yellow] When there is a malfunc-
tion with the lane keeping assist
system.
If this occurs, have your vehicle
inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI
dealer.
For more details, refer to "Lane
Keeping Assist (LKA)" in chapter
5.
LED Headlamp Warning
Light (if equipped)
This warning light illuminates:
When the POWER button is in the
ON position.
- It illuminates for approximately 3
seconds and then goes off.
When there is a malfunction with
the LED headlamp.
If this occurs, have the vehicle
inspected by an an authorized
HYUNDAI dealer.
This warning light blinks:
When there is a malfunction with a
component or system related to the
LED headlamps.
If this occurs, have the vehicle
inspected by an an authorized
HYUNDAI dealer.
Continuous driving with the LED
Headlamp Warning Light on or
blinking can reduce LED head-
lamp life.

Icy Road Warning Light
(if equipped)
This warning light is to warn the driver
the road may be icy.
When the reading on the outside
temperature gauge is below 40°F
(4°C), the Icy Road Warning Light
and Outside Temperature Gauge
blinks and then illuminates. Also, the
warning chime sounds 1 time.
You can activate or deactivate Icy
Road Warning function from the User
Settings mode in the cluster LCD dis-
play.
Information
If the icy road warning light comes ON
while driving, it is an indication that
roads may be icy. In this situation, pay
close attention to your driving and
reduce your vehicle speed as a precau-
tion. Avoid sudden changes in accelera-
tion or braking or sudden changes in
steering in order to maintain control of
your vehicle while driving in adverse
weather conditions.
Master Warning Light
This indicator light illuminates:
When there is a malfunction in oper-
ation in any of the following systems:
- Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist
system malfunction (if equipped)
- Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist
radar blocked (if equipped)
- Blind-Spot Collision Warning sys-
tem malfunction (if equipped)
- Blind-Spot Collision Warning radar
blocked (if equipped)
- Lamp malfunction
- LED headlamp malfunction (if
equipped)
- High Beam Assist malfunction (if
equipped)
- Smart Cruise Control system mal-
function (if equipped)
- Smart Cruise Control system radar
blocked (if equipped)
- Tire Pressure Monitoring System
(TPMS) malfunction
To identify the details of the warning,
look at the LCD display.
Electronic Stability
Control (ESC) Indicator
Light
This indicator light illuminates:
When the POWER button is in the
ON position.
- It illuminates for approximately 3
seconds and then goes off.
When there is a malfunction with
the ESC system.
If this occurs, have your vehicle
inspected by an authorized
HYUNDAI dealer.
This indicator light blinks:
While the ESC is operating.

This indicator displays the exterior
lights mode when selected using the
headlamp control stalk.
You can activate or deactivate
Wiper/Lights Display function from
the User Settings mode in the cluster

Wiper mode
This indicator displays the windshield
wiper mode when selected using the
windshield wiper stalk.
You can activate or deactivate
Wiper/Lights Display function from
the User Settings mode in the cluster
LCD display.
Heated Steering Wheel turned
off (if equipped)
This message is displayed if you turn
off the heated steering wheel.
For more details, refer to "Heated
Steering Wheel" in this chapter.
Low washer fluid
This warning message is displayed
if the washer fluid level in the reser-
voir is nearly empty.
Have the washer fluid reservoir refilled.
Check headlight
This warning message is displayed if
the headlights are not operating
properly. A headlight bulb may need
to be replaced.
Make sure to replace the burned out
bulb with a new one of the same
wattage rating.

Tire Pressure
This mode displays information relat-
ed to Tire Pressure.

Exterior Lights
Lighting control
To operate the lights, turn the knob at
the end of the control lever to one of
the following positions:
1. OFF position
2. AUTO headlamp position
3. Parking lamp position
4. Headlamp position
Daytime running light (DRL)
The Daytime Running Lights (DRL)
can make it easier for others to see
the front of your vehicle during the
day, especially after dawn and before
sunset.
The DRL system will turn the dedi-
cated lamp OFF when :
The headlamps are ON.
The parking lamps are ON.
The vehicle is turned off.
The parking brake is engaged.
AUTO headlamp position
The parking lamp and headlamp will
be turned ON or OFF automatically
depending on the amount of daylight
as measured by the ambient light
sensor (1) on the center dash.
Even with the AUTO headlamp fea-
ture in operation, it is recommended
to manually turn ON the headlamps
when driving at night, driving in rainy
or foggy conditions, or when entering
dark areas such as tunnels or under-
ground parking facilities.

Do not cover or spill anything on
the sensor (1) located in front of
the instrument panel.
Do not clean the sensor using a
window cleaner, the cleanser may
leave a light film which could
interfere with sensor operation.
If your vehicle has window tint
or other types of metallic coat-
ing on the front windshield, the
AUTO headlamp system may not
work properly.
Parking lamp position ( )
The parking lamp, license plate lamp
and instrument panel lamp are turned
ON.
Headlamp position ( )
The headlamp, parking lamp, license
plate lamp and instrument panel lamp
are turned ON.
Information
The POWER button must be in the
ON position to turn on the headlamp.

High beam operation
To turn on the high beam headlamp,
push the lever away from you. The
lever will return to its original position.
The high beam indicator will light
when the headlamp high beams are
switched on.
To turn off the high beam headlamp,
pull the lever towards you. The low
beams will turn on.To flash the high beam headlamp,
pull the lever towards you, then
release the lever. The high beams
will remain ON as long as you hold
the lever towards you.
High Beam Assist (HBA)
(if equipped)
The High Beam Assist is a system
that automatically adjusts the head-
lamp range (switches between high
beam and low beam) according to
the brightness of other vehicles and
road conditions.
Operating condition
1. Place the headlamp switch in the
AUTO position.
2. Turn on the high beam by pushing
the lever away from you.
The High Beam Assist ( ) indica-
tor will illuminate.
Do not use high beam when there
are other vehicles approaching
you. Using high beam could
obstruct the other driver's vision.

3. High Beam Assist will turn on
when vehicle speed is above 25
mph (40 km/h).
If the headlamp switch is pushed
away when High Beam Assist is
operating, High Beam Assist will
turn off and the high beam will be
on continuously.
If the headlamp switch is pulled
towards you when the high beam
is off, the high beam will turn on
without High Beam Assist can-
celed. When you let go of the light
switch, the lever will move to the
middle and the high beam will
turn off.
If the headlamp switch is pulled
towards you when the high beam
is on by High Beam Assist, the
low beam will be on and High
Beam Assist will turn off.
If the headlamp switch is placed
to the headlamp ON position,
High Beam Assist will turn off
and the low beam will be on con-
tinuously.When High Beam Assist is operating,
the high beam switches to low beam if
any of the following conditions occur :
- When the headlamp of an on-com-
ing vehicle is detected.
- When the tail lamp of a vehicle in
front is detected.
- When the headlamp or tail lamp of
a motorcycle or a bicycle is detect-
ed.
- When the surrounding ambient light
is bright enough that high beams
are not required.
- When streetlights or other lights
are detected.
- When the headlamp switch is not in
the AUTO position.
- When High Beam Assist is off.
- When vehicle speed is below 20 mph
(30 km/h).
Warning light and message
When High Beam Assist is not work-
ing properly, the Check High Beam
Assist warning message will come
on for a few seconds. After the mes-
sage disappears, the master warning
light ( ) will illuminate. Take your
vehicle to an authorized HYUNDAI
dealer and have the system
checked.
