1Locking/Unlocking the Doors Using a Key
When you lock the driver’s door with a key, all of the
other doors, tailgate, and fu el fill door lock at the
same time. When unlock ing, the driver’s door
unlocks first. Turn the key a second time within a few
seconds to unlock the remaining doors and the
tailgate.
You can customize the door unlock mode setting.

Pull the front door inner handle.
u The door unlocks and opens in one
motion.
Unlocking and opening the front door from the inner handle unlocks all the other
doors.
To avoid unlocking all the doors at once, use the lock tab on the driver’s door to
unlock, then lock again before opening the door. u This setting works for one time only. If you do not want all the doors to be
unlocked all the ti me, customize the Auto Door Unlock setting to OFF using
the driver information interface

front seat occupants to ope n the door in one motion.
However this feature requires that front seat
occupants never pull a front door inner handle while
the vehicle is in motion.

Your vehicle locks and unlocks all doors and the tailgate automatically when a
certain condition is met.
■Drive lock mode
All doors and the tailgate lock when the vehicle’s speed reaches about 10 mph (15
km/h).

All doors and the tailgate unlock when the driver’s door is opened.

Use a forward and back kicking motion under
the center of the rear bumper to open or close
the power tailgate while carrying the smart
entry remote.
u Some exterior lights will flash and a
beeper sounds, then the tailgate begins
to move.

During rain or in other instances when the vehicle
becomes wet, the sensor may not properly detect
your foot motion.
When performing work on or around the rear section
of the vehicle, you may in advertently open or close
the tailgate.
To prevent this from happe ning, select Customized
Features on the audio/info rmation screen display and
then select OFF for the feature.

If you hold your foot under the bumper for too long,
the power tailgate doe s not open or close.
This function will not opera te if you don’t have the
smart entry remote on you. Please make sure you
have the smart entry remote on you.

The headlights automatically come on when the wipers are used several times within
a certain number of intervals wi th the headlight switch in AUTO.
The headlights automatically go off a few minutes later if the wipers are stopped.
The headlights, all other exterior lights, an d the instrument panel lights turn off 15
seconds after you set the power mode to VE HICLE OFF, take the remote with you,
and close the driver’s door.
If you set the power mode to VEHICLE OFF with the headlight switch on, but do not
open the door, the lights turn off after 10 minutes (3 minutes, if the switch is in the
AUTO position).
The lights turn on again when you unlock or open the driver’s door. If you unlock
the door, but do not open it within 15 seconds, the lights go off. If you open the
driver’s door, you will hear a reminder chime alerting you that the lights are on.

This feature alerts you to th e possible presence of passengers or items in the second
row or third row seats. It activates when th e vehicle is set to VEHICLE OFF if the rear
doors were opened shortly before or after the vehicle was set to ON.
A reminder appears on the driver information
interface and an alert will sound when the
power mode is set to VEHICLE OFF.
A reminder appears on the audio/information
screen when the power mode is set to
VEHICLE OFF.
To dismiss the notification, select Dismiss.
■Rear Seat Reminder1Rear Seat Reminder
When the power mode is set to VEHICLE OFF, the
reminder comes on briefly, then the function is
deactivated.
The reminder will not work if the power mode has
not been set to ON within 10 minutes of operating
the rear doors.
The system does not detect passengers in the rear
seat(s). Instead, it can detect when a rear door is
opened and closed, indica ting that there may be
something in the rear seat(s).
You can turn off the notification setting.

The interior lights come on regardless of
whether the doors or the tailgate are open or
closed.
■Door activated
The interior lights come on in the following
situations:
Front:
• When any of the doors or the tailgate are
opened.
• You unlock the driver’s door.
• When the power mode is set to VEHICLE
OFF.
Cargo area:
When the tailgate is open.
■OFF
The interior lights remain off regardless of
whether the doors or the tailgate are open or
closed.
■Interior Light Switches1 Interior Light Switches
In the door activated position, the interior lights fade
out and go off about 30 se conds after the doors are
closed.
The lights go off after 30 seconds in the following
situations:
•When you unlock the driver’s door but do not open
it.
•When you set the power mode to VEHICLE OFF but
do not open a door.

•When you lock the driver’s door.
•When you set the power mode to ON.•When you close the driver’s door in ACCESSORY
mode.
If you leave any of the doors open in VEHICLE OFF
mode, the interior light s go off after about 15
minutes.
If you leave the tailgate open in VEHICLE OFF mode,
the cargo area light goes of f after about 30 minutes.
To avoid draining the ba ttery, do not leave the
interior light on for an extended length of time when
the engine is off.

Climate Control System
Using Automatic Climate Control
The automatic climate control system maintains the interior temperature you select.
The system also selects the proper mix of heat ed or cooled air that raises or lowers
the interior temperature to your pr eference as quickly as possible.
Use the system when the engine is running.
1. Press the AUTO button.
2. Adjust the interior temperature us ing the temperature control switch.
3. Press the button to cancel.
■Switching between the recirculation and fresh air modes
Press the button and switch the mode depending on environmental
conditions.
Recirculation Mode (indicator on): Recirculates air from th e vehicle’s interior through
the system.
Fresh Air Mode (indicator off): Maintains outside ventilation. Keep the system in
fresh air mode in normal situations.
Dual-zone climate control system
1 Using Automatic Climate Control
During idle-stops, air-conditioning is suspended, and
only the blower remains ac tive. If you do not want
air-conditioning suspended, press Auto Idle Stop OFF
button to cancel idle-stop.
If any buttons are presse d while using the climate
control system in auto, the function of the button
that was pressed will take priority.
The AUTO indicator will go off, but functions
unrelated to the button th at was pressed will be
controlled automatically.
To prevent cold air from bl owing in from outside, the
fan may not start i mmediately when the AUTO
button is pressed.
If the interior is very warm, you can cool it down
more rapidly by partial ly opening the windows,
turning the system on auto, and setting the
temperature to low. Change the fresh air mode to
recirculation mode until the temperature cools down.
When you set the temperat ure to the lower or upper
limit, Lo or Hi is displayed.
Pressing the button switches the climate
control system between on and off. When turned on,
the system returns to your last selection.
While ECON mode is active, the climate control
system may have reduced cooling performance.
