Maintenance
Brake/Clutch* Fluid
Use the same fluid for both the brakes and clutch*.
The fluid level should be between the MIN
and MAX marks on the side of the reserve
tank.
The brake fluid reserve tank is also used for
your vehicle’s clutch fluid. As long as you keep
the brake fluid level as in structed above, there
is no need for checking the clutch fluid level.
Specified fluid: Honda Heavy Duty Brake Fluid DOT 3
■Checking the Brake Fluid
1Brake/Clutch* Fluid
NOTICE
Brake fluid marked DOT 5 is not compatible with your
vehicle’s braking system and can cause extensive
damage.
If the specified br ake fluid is not av ailable, you should
use only DOT 3 or DOT 4 fluid from a sealed
container as a temporary replacement.
Using any non-Honda brake fluid can cause corrosion
and decrease the longevity of the system. Have the
brake system flushed and re filled with Honda Heavy
Duty Brake Fluid DOT 3 as soon as possible.
If the brake fluid level is at or below the MIN mark,
have a dealer inspect the vehicle for leaks or worn
brake pads as soon as possible.

Refilling Window Washer Fluid
Open the cap and check the amount of
window washer fluid.
If the level is low, fill the washer reservoir.
If the washer fluid is low, a message appears
on the driver information interface.
Pour the washer fluid carefully. Do not
overflow the reservoir.1Refilling Window Washer Fluid
NOTICE
Do not use engine antifreeze or a vinegar/water
solution in the windshield washer reservoir.
Antifreeze can damage y our vehicle's paint. A
vinegar/water solution ca n damage the windshield
washer pump.
Use only commercially avai lable windshield washer
fluid.
Avoid prolonged use of hard water to prevent lime
scale build up.

Checking and Maintaining Wiper Blades
Checking Wiper Blades
If the wiper blade rubber has deteriorated, it will leave streaks and the hard surfaces
of the blade may scratch the window glass.
Changing the Front Wiper Blade Rubber
1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0*1.
2. While holding the wiper switch in the MIST
position, turn the igni tion switch to ON
(w*1, then to LOCK (0*1.
u Both wiper arms are set to the
maintenance position as shown in the
image.
3. Lift both wiper arms.
*1: Models with the smart entry system have an ENGINE START/STOP button instead of an
ignition switch.

uuChecking and Maintaining Tires uWear Indicators
Maintenance
Wear Indicators
The groove where the wear indicator is
located is 1/16 inch (1.6 mm) shallower than
elsewhere on the tire. If the tread has worn so
that the indicator is ex posed, replace the tire.
Worn out tires have poor traction on wet
roads.
Tire Service Life
The life of your tires is dependent on many factors, including driving habits, road
conditions, vehicle loading, inflation pre ssure, maintenance history, speed, and
environmental conditions (even when the tires are not in use).
In addition to regular in spections and inflation pres sure maintenance, it is
recommended that you have annual inspecti ons performed once the tires reach five
years old. All tires, including the spare
*, should be removed from service after 10
years from the date of manufacture, regard less of their condition or state of wear.
1Checking Tires
High speed driving
We recommend that you do not drive faster than the
posted speed limits and conditions allow. If you drive
at sustained high speeds (over 137 mph or 220
km/h), adjust the cold tire pressures as shown below
to avoid excessive heat build up and sudden tire
failure.
This vehicle is equippe d with high grip tires.
Due to their focus on dry- grip performance, these
tires have shallower tread grooves and wear faster
than ordinary commercial tires.
Periodically check the tread depth.
Drive at a safe speed in the rain and on wet roads.

Maintenance
Winter Tires
If driving on snowy or frozen roads, mount all season marked M+S tires, snow tires,
or tire chains; reduce speed; and maintain sufficient distance between vehicles when
driving.
Be particularly careful wh en operating the steering wheel or brakes to prevent
skidding.
Use tire chains, snow tires, or all season tires when necessary or according to the
law.
When mounting, refer to the following points.1Winter Tires
NOTICE
Traction devices that are the wrong size or improperly
installed can damage your vehicle’s brake lines,
suspension, body, and wheels. Stop driving if they are
hitting any part of the vehicle.
When tire chains are mounted, follow the chain
manufacturer’s instructi ons regarding vehicle
operational limits.
If your vehicle is equipp ed with summer, high grip
*1
or ultra high performance*2 tires, be aware that these
tires are not designed for winter driving conditions.
For more information, contact a dealer.

3WARNING
Using the wrong chains, or not properly
installing chains, can damage the brake
lines and cause a crash in which you can be
seriously injured or killed.
Follow all instruction s in this owner’s
manual regarding the selection and use of
tire chains.

Maintenance
For winter tires:
• Select the size and load ranges that are the same as the original tires.
• Mount the tires to all four wheels.
For tire chains:
• Install them on the front tires only.
• Because your vehicle has limited tire clearance, we strongly recommend using the
chains listed below:
*1: On 245/30ZR20 tires, you cannot install any type of tire chains. If you have to use
tire chains, replace the original tires with the 235/40R18 tires.
• Follow the chain manufacturer’s instruction when installing. Mount them as
tightly as you can.
• Check that the chains do not to uch the brake lines or suspension.
• Drive slowly.

Maintenance
Cold Weather Driving
Summer Only tires and High Grip tires*1 or Ultra High Performance (UHP) tires*2 are
very sensitive to ambient temperatures and are designed to be used at temperatures
above 45°F (7°C). If the vehicle is operat ed with Summer Only tires or UHP tires at
temperatures below 45°F (7°C), the tires will provide decreasing amounts of grip
and other performance attributes. If the vehi cle is operated with Summer Only tires
or UHP tires at temperatures below 20°F (–7°C)
*1 or –4°F (–20°C)*2, the tire tread
may lose their elasticity and become brittl e, resulting in permanent damage to the
tread. A damaged tire may fail during use. Therefore, if you operate the vehicle
when ambient temperatures are below 45°F (7°C), we recommend that you install
other tires (e.g., mud+snow, winter) that are designed to provide appropriate
performance attributes under the anticipated conditions.

Use of Summer Only tires or Ultra High
Performance tires at temperatures below
45°F (7°C) may lead to a loss of
performance and control, which could
result in a crash, se rious injury or death.
