Auto Fan Speed
This setting specifies the amount of airflow
when the climate control fan setting is
Auto Fan.
Touch Low, Medium, or High.
Auto Cooled Seats
This setting automatically turns on and
regulates the ventilated seats when the
cabin temperature is warm. SeeHeated and
Ventilated Front Seats 040.
Touch Off or On.
Auto Heated Seats
This setting automatically turns on and
regulates the heated seats when the cabin
temperature is cool. The auto heated seats
can be turned off by using the heated seat
buttons on the center stack. See Heated and
Ventilated Front Seats 040.
If equipped with Auto Heated Steering
Wheel, this feature will turn on when the
Auto Heated Seats turn on.
Touch Off or On.
Auto Defog
This setting automatically turns the front
defogger on when the engine is started. Touch Off or On.
Auto Rear Defog
This setting automatically turns the rear
defogger on when the engine is started.
Touch Off or On.
Ionizer
If equipped and on, this feature helps to
clean the air inside the vehicle and remove
contaminants such as pollen, odors, and
dust. See
Dual Automatic Climate Control
System 0183.

Collision / Detection Systems
Touch and the following may display:

This setting specifies the type of vehicle
feedback provided, either a beep or seat
vibration, when you are in danger of
colliding with an object.
Touch Beeps or Safety Alert Seat.
Forward Collision System
This setting can alert of a potential crash
with a detected vehicle ahead and can apply
brakes to help reduce a collision’s severity.

This feature may help avoid or reduce the
harm caused by front-end crashes with

The rear reading lamps are over the rear
seats.
Press the lamp lens to turn the rear
passenger reading lamps on or off.
Lighting Features
Entry Lighting
Some exterior lamps and most of the
interior lights turn on briefly at night, or in
areas of limited lighting when
Kis pressed
on the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
transmitter. See Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
System Operation 07. When the driver door
is opened, all control lights, Driver
Information Center (DIC) lights, and door
pocket lights turn on. After about
30 seconds the exterior lamps turn off, then
the remaining interior lights dim to off.
Entry lighting can be disabled manually by
turning the ignition on or to ACC/
ACCESSORY, or by pressing
Qon the RKE
transmitter.
This feature can be changed. See “Vehicle

Exit Lighting
Some exterior lamps and interior lights
come on at night, or in areas with limited
lighting, when the driver door is opened
after the ignition is turned off. The dome
lamp comes on after the ignition is turned
off. The exterior lamps and dome lamp
remain on for a set amount of time, then
automatically turn off.
The exterior lamps turn off immediately by
turning the exterior lamp control off.
This feature can be changed. See Vehicle
Personalization 0114.
Battery Load Management
The vehicle has Electric Power Management
(EPM) that estimates the battery's
temperature and state of charge. It then
adjusts the voltage for best performance
and extended life of the battery.
When the battery's state of charge is low,
the voltage is raised slightly to quickly bring
the charge back up. When the state of
charge is high, the voltage is lowered
slightly to prevent overcharging. If the
vehicle has a voltmeter gauge or a voltage
display on the Driver Information Center (DIC), you may see the voltage move up or
down. This is normal. If there is a problem,
an alert will be displayed.
The battery can be discharged at idle if the
electrical loads are very high. This is true for
all vehicles. This is because the generator
(alternator) may not be spinning fast
enough at idle to produce all of the power
needed for very high electrical loads.
A high electrical load occurs when several of
the following are on, such as: headlamps,
high beams, rear window defogger, climate
control fan at high speed, heated seats,
engine cooling fans, trailer loads, and loads
plugged into accessory power outlets.
EPM works to prevent excessive discharge of
the battery. It does this by balancing the
generator's output and the vehicle's
electrical needs. It can increase engine idle
speed to generate more power whenever
needed. It can temporarily reduce the power
demands of some accessories.
Normally, these actions occur in steps or
levels, without being noticeable. In rare
cases at the highest levels of corrective
action, this action may be noticeable to the
driver. If so, a DIC battery voltage and
charging message displays. It is

instrument cluster.

up or down in a list on the instrument
cluster.
V: Press to select a highlighted menu item.
CorB: Press to go to the next or
previous favorite when listening to the
radio. Press to go to the next or previous
track when listening to a media source.
x+ orx– :Press to increase or decrease
the volume.
Using the System
Audio
Touch the Audio icon to display the active
audio source page. Examples of available
sources may include AM, FM, SXM (if
equipped), USB, and Bluetooth.
Phone
Touch the Phone icon to display the Phone
main page. See Bluetooth (Pairing and Using
a Phone) 0161 or
Bluetooth (Overview) 0160.
Nav
If equipped, touch the Nav icon to display
the navigation map. See Using the
Navigation System 0143.
Climate
If equipped, touch the Climate icon to
display the Climate main page. See Dual
Automatic Climate Control System 0183.
Wi-Fi Hotspot
Touch the Wi-Fi Hotspot icon to display the
Wi-Fi Hotspot information. See Settings
0 165.
Users
If equipped, touch the Users icon to sign in
or create a new user profile, and follow the
on-screen instructions.
Only four user profiles can be active at one
time in the vehicle. It may be necessary to
remove a profile from the menu before
creating or signing into an existing profile.
The removed profile can be logged into at a
later time.
Settings
Touch the Settings icon to display the
Settings menu. See Settings0165.
Apple CarPlay
Touch the Apple CarPlay icon to activate
Apple CarPlay (if equipped) after a
supported device is connected. See Apple
CarPlay and Android Auto 0164.
Android Auto
Touch the Android Auto icon to activate
Android Auto (if equipped) after a supported
device is connected. See Apple CarPlay and
Android Auto 0164.
Apps
If equipped, in-vehicle apps are available for
download. Touch the Apps icon on the
Home Page to begin.
Downloading and using in-vehicle apps
requires Internet connectivity which can be
accessed with a data plan through the
vehicle’s built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot,
if equipped, or a compatible mobile device
hotspot. On most mobile devices, activation
of the Wi-Fi hotspot is in the device’s
Settings menu under Mobile Network
Sharing, Personal Hotspot, Mobile Hotspot,
or similar.

.Reset Music Index: This allows the music
index to be reset if you are having
difficulty accessing all of the media
content on your device.
Touch Yes or No.
Climate
If equipped, touch and the following may
display:
.Auto Fan Speed: This setting specifies the
amount of airflow when the climate
control fan setting is Auto Fan.
Touch Low, Medium, or High.
.Air Quality Sensor: This setting switches
the system into Recirculation Mode based
on the quality of the outside air.
Touch Off, Low Sensitivity, or High
Sensitivity.
.Auto Cooled Seats: This setting
automatically turns on and regulates the
ventilated seats when the cabin
temperature is warm.
Touch the controls on the infotainment
display to disable or enable.
.Auto Heated Seats: This setting
automatically turns on and regulates the
heated seats when the cabin temperature is cool. The auto heated seats can be
turned off by using the heated seat
controls on the center stack.
Touch the controls on the infotainment
display to disable or enable.
.Auto Defog: This setting automatically
turns the front defogger on when the
vehicle engine is started.
Touch the controls on the infotainment
display to disable or enable.
.Auto Rear Defog: This setting
automatically turns the rear window
defogger on when the vehicle engine is
started.
Touch the controls on the infotainment
display to disable or enable.
.Ionizer: This setting purifies the air in the
interior of the vehicle..

last name.
.Re-sync Device Contacts: Allows the device
contacts to re-sync if you are having
difficulty accessing all of the contacts on
your cell phone.
.Delete All Vehicle Contacts: Touch to
delete all vehicle stored contacts.

The climate control buttons on the center stack and on the climate control display are used to
adjust the heating, cooling, and ventilation.

Climate Control Display

The fan, air delivery mode, air conditioning,
driver and passenger temperatures, and Sync
settings can be controlled by touching CLIMATE on the infotainment display Home
Page or the climate button in the
application tray display. A selection can then
be made on the front climate control page
displayed. See the infotainment manual.
Climate Control Status Display
The climate control status display appears
briefly when the climate controls on the
center stack are adjusted. The air delivery
mode can be adjusted on the climate control
display.
Automatic Operation
The system automatically controls the fan
speed, air delivery, air conditioning, and
recirculation in order to heat or cool the
vehicle to the desired temperature.
When AUTO is lit, all four functions operate
automatically. Each function can also be
manually set and the selected setting is
displayed. Functions not manually set will
continue to be automatically controlled,
even if the AUTO indicator is not lit.
For automatic operation:
1. Press AUTO.
2. Set the temperature. Allow the system time to stabilize. Adjust the temperature
as needed for best comfort.
To improve fuel efficiency and to cool the
vehicle faster with A/C on, recirculation may
be automatically selected in warm weather.
Press
@to select recirculation; press it
again to select outside air.
Driver and Passenger Temperature
Controls : The temperature can be adjusted
separately for the driver and the passenger.
Turn the knob clockwise or counterclockwise
to increase or decrease the driver or
passenger temperature setting.

The driver and passenger temperatures can
also be adjusted by touching the controls on
the climate control display.
Sync :Touch Sync on the display to link all
passenger settings to the driver settings.
Adjust the driver side temperature control to
change the linked temperature. When the
passenger settings are adjusted, the Sync
button is displayed and the temperatures
are unlinked.
Manual Operation
CLIMATE : Press CLIMATE to show the
climate control display.
ON/OFF : Press to turn the fan on or off.
When off, no air will flow into the vehicle.
Turning the fan on, pressing any other
button, or turning a knob will turn the
system back on using the current setting.
hi: Press or touch the fan controls on the
center stack or the display to increase or
decrease the fan speed. The fan speed
setting displays.
Pressing either button cancels automatic fan
control and the fan is controlled manually.
Press AUTO to return to automatic
operation. Air Delivery Mode Control :
When the
climate information is displayed, touch

Y, orXon the display to change the
direction of airflow. Any combination of the
three modes can be selected. The selected
air delivery mode is lit. Pressing any mode
control cancels automatic air delivery control
and the direction of the airflow is controlled
manually. Press AUTO to return to
automatic operation.
To change the current mode, select one or
more of the following:
6: Air is directed to the floor outlets, with
some air to the windshield and side
windows.
Y: Air is directed to the instrument panel
outlets.
X: Clears the windows of fog or moisture.
Air is directed to the windshield.
1MAX : Air is directed to the windshield,
the fan runs at a higher speed, and the
temperature of the air is increased if not
already at maximum. This mode overrides
the previous mode selected and clears fog or
frost from the windshield more quickly. When
1MAX is pressed again, the system
returns to the previous mode setting and
fan speed.
For best results, clear all snow and ice from
the windshield before defrosting.
A/C : Touch A/C on the display to turn the
air conditioning on or off. If the fan is
turned off, the air conditioner will not run
and A/C OFF will show on the climate
control display.
Touch AUTO to return to automatic
operation and the air conditioner runs
automatically as needed.
@: Press to turn on recirculation. An
indicator light comes on. Air is recirculated
to quickly cool the inside of the vehicle or
to reduce the entry of outside air and odors.
If selected during cool or cold weather, the
windshield and windows may fog. Turn off
recirculation to help clear the windshield
and windows.
Auto Defog : The climate control system has
a sensor to automatically detect high
humidity inside the vehicle. When high
humidity is detected, the climate control
system may adjust to outside air supply and
turn on the air conditioner. The fan speed

may slightly increase to help prevent
fogging. If the climate control system does
not detect possible window fogging, it
returns to normal operation.
To turn Auto Defog off or on, see“Climate

Ionizer : If equipped with an ionizer, this
feature helps to clean the air inside the
vehicle and remove contaminants such as
pollen, odors, and dust. If the climate
control system is on and the ionizer is
enabled, Ionizer On will be displayed. To
turn the ionizer on or off, see “Climate and
Air Quality” underVehicle Personalization
0 114.
Rear Window Defogger
K:Press to turn the rear window defogger
on or off. An indicator light on the button
comes on to show that the rear window
defogger is on. The rear window defogger
only works when the engine is running.
It turns off when the ignition is turned off
or in ACC/ACCESSORY.
The rear window defogger can be set to
automatic operation. See “Climate and Air
Quality” underVehicle Personalization 0114.
When Auto Rear Defog is selected, the rear window defogger turns on automatically
when the interior temperature is cold and
the outside temperature is about 4 °C (40 °F)
and below. The auto rear defogger turns off
automatically after about 10 minutes,
or after five minutes if the outside
temperature is not as cold.
The upper gridlines on the rear window are
antenna lines and are not intended to heat
when the defogger is activated.
The heated outside mirrors turn on when
the rear window defogger button is on and
help to clear fog or frost from the surface of
the mirror. See
Heated Mirrors028.
Caution
Do not try to clear frost or other material
from the inside of the front windshield
and rear window with a razor blade or
anything else that is sharp. This may
damage the rear window defogger grid
and affect the radio's ability to pick up
stations clearly. The repairs would not be
covered by the vehicle warranty.
Heated and Ventilated Seats

heat the driver or passenger seat.
Cor{: If equipped, pressCor{to
ventilate the driver or passenger seat. See

Remote Start Climate Control Operation :
The climate control system may run when
the vehicle is started remotely. If the vehicle
has heated or ventilated seats, they may
come on during a remote start. See Remote
Vehicle Start 013 and
Heated and Ventilated Front Seats 040.
Sensors
The solar sensor, on top of the instrument
panel near the windshield, monitors the
solar heat.
The climate control system uses the sensor
information to adjust the temperature, fan
speed, recirculation, and air delivery mode
for best comfort.
Do not cover the sensor; otherwise the
automatic climate control system may not
work properly.
