Automatic locking when driving
The doors and trunk lid will automatically lock when the vehicle begins to move.

Opening and closing the power trunk lid

The trunk lid can be opened and closed auto- matically with the power trunk release.
OpeningTo open the power trunk lid, do one of the fol- lowing:
–Press and hold the button on the
remote key until the trunk lid begins to open.
–Press and hold the button on the
dashboard until the trunk lid begins to open.
–Press lightly on the trunk lid's outside han- dle.

ClosingTo close the power trunk lid, do one of the fol- lowing:
–Press the button on the lower edge of

NOTE
The button remains active 24 hours after the tailgate was opened. After thistime, the tailgate must be closed man-ually.
If the tailgate has been open for morethan 30 minutes, it will automaticallyclose slowly.

Closing and locking
–Press the button on the lower edge of
the trunk lid to close and simultaneously lock 14
both the trunk lid and doors (all
doors must be closed in order to lock).
> The trunk lid closes automatically – the trunk lid and doors lock, and the alarm is armed.
NOTE
One of the vehicle's remote keys must be within range for locking and unlock-ing to be possible.
When the keyless locking or closing
*
functions are used, three audible signals
will sound if the key is not detected close enough to the tailgate.
CAUTION
When operating the trunk lid manually, open and close it slowly. If you encounterresistance, do not use force. This couldlead to damage and loss of function.
Interrupting closingInterrupt closing by doing one of the follow- ing:
Press the button on the dashboard.
Press the button on the remote key.
Press the close button on the underside ofthe trunk lid.
Press the rubberized pressure plate on theunderside of the tailgate's outer handle.
Using a foot movement
*.
The trunk lid will stop closing and return to itsfully open position. The trunk lid can then beopened or closed manually.
Pinch protectionIf anything obstructs the tailgate with enoughforce to prevent it from closing, pinch protec-tion will be activated.
The trunk lid will stop and then return toits fully open position. A long audible sig-nal will sound.
WARNING
Be aware of the risk of serious injury when operating the trunk lid. Before opening or closing, make sure that no one is near the trunk lid's range ofmotion. Serious injury could occur. Always operate the trunk lid with caution.

Alarm indicator
A red indicator light on the dashboard shows the status of the alarm:
Indicator off - the alarm is disarmed.
Indicator flashes once every two seconds -the alarm is armed.
The indicator flashes quickly after thealarm has been disabled for up to30 seconds or until the ignition is put in
I
mode – the alarm has been triggered.
In the event of alarm system failureIf a problem is detected in the alarmsystem, a symbol and the message

required will appear in the instru-
ment panel. Contact a workshop - an author- ized Volvo workshop is recommended.
NOTE
Do not attempt to repair or alter any of the components in the alarm system yourself.Any such attempt could affect the termsand conditions of your insurance policy.

A red LED light on the dashboard will flash every other second when the vehicle is locked and thealarm is armed.

Opening/closing the fuel filler door
A button on the instrument panel is used to unlock the fuel filler door.
An arrow next to the fuel pump symbol in the instru-ment panel indicates the sideof the vehicle on which thefuel filler door is located.
1. Press the button on the dashboard.
> Pressure equalization in the fuel tankcauses a slight delay before the fuel filler door opens. The message
Preparing for refuel Fuel lid will be
unlocked when ready will appear in
the instrument panel. When the system is ready, the message
Fuel tank Ready
for refueling will be shown. If the gas-
oline engine is activated when the but- ton is pressed, it will usually be deacti-vated and the vehicle will switch toelectric propulsion.
NOTE
Refueling must be done within approxi- mately 15 minutes of opening the fuel fillerdoor. After this time, the valve opened bypushing the button for opening the fuelfiller door will close and it will no longer bepossible to refuel without the pump's noz-zle switching off. If the valve is closed before refueling is complete - press the button again and waituntil the driver display shows the message
Fuel tank Ready for refueling.
2. After refueling, press the fuel filler door lightly to close it.

Tire inflation pressures. This label indi-
cates the correct inflation pressures for the tires that were on the vehicle when it left thefactory.
