■Air intake selector
Outside or recirculated air positions can be selected. Press th e
switch to select outside/ r ecirculated air positions.
● Recirculated air po sition (indicator light illuminated)
Outside air is shut off. Use this position when going through t un-
nels, driving in congested traffic (high engine exhaust areas) or
when quick cooling is desired.
● Outside air position (indi cator light turned off)
Outside air is allowed to enter t he cabin. Use this mode for venti-
lation or windshield defrosting.
■Rear window defogger switch
Press the rear window defogger switch to defrost the rear windo w.
Refer to Rear Window Defogger on P. 207.
■ Mode selector dial
●With the airflow mode set to the position and the temperature control
dial set at a medium temperature, heated air is directed to the feet and air at
a comparably lower temperature will flow through the central, left and right
vents.
● When the fan control dial is ON, and the mode selector dial is in the
or position, the air conditioner is automatically turned on and the out-
side air position is automatically selected to defrost the windshield. In the
or position, the outside air position cannot be changed to th e
recirculated air position.
■ A/C switch
The air conditioner may not function when the outside temperatu re
approaches 0 °C (32 °F).
WARNING
■ Do not use the position in cold or rainy weather:
Using the position in cold or rainy weather is dangerous as it will
cause the windows to fog up. Your vision will be hampered, whic h could
lead to a serious accident.

Set the mode selector dial to the AUTO position.
Set the air intake selector to the outside air position (indicator light
turned off).
Set the fan control dial to the AUTO position.
Press the A/C switch to operate the air conditioner (turn indic ator
light on).
Set the temperature control dial to the desired position.
To turn off the system, set the fan control dial to the 0 position.
■Operation of Automatic Air conditioner
●If the recirculated air position is used for long periods in co ld weather or high
humidity, the windshield may fog up more easily.
● Setting the temperature to maximum hot or cold will not provide the desired
temperature at a faster rate.
● When selecting heat, the system will restrict airflow until it has warmed to
prevent cold air from blowing out of the vents.
Set the mode selector dial to t he position and turn the fan co n-
trol dial to the desired speed.
In this position, the outside air position is automatically sel ected, and
when the fan control dial is ON , the air conditioner automatica lly turns
on. The air conditioner will directly dehumidify the air to the front wind-
shield and side windows ( P. 258). Airflow amount will be increased.
Use the temperature control dial to increase the air flow temperature and
defog the windshield more quickly.

WARNING
■Set the temperature control to the hot or warm position when de fog-
ging ( position):
Using the position with the temperature control set to the col d posi-

Devices compatible with Toyota Email/SMS function:
SMS (Short Message Service) mes sages, and E-mail for the
device are downloaded automatically. A download permission
operation for your device may be required depending on the
device.
When Call history and messages are downloaded automatically,
each automatic download setting must be on.
Refer to Communication Settings on P. 351.
After a device is registered, the system automatically identifi es
the device. By activating Bluetooth® Hands-Free again, or by
activating Bluetooth® Hands-Free first after switching the ignition
from OFF to ACC, the device connec tion condition is indicated in
the center display.
● IMPORTANT note about pairing and automatic reconnection:
• If pairing is redone on the same mobile phone device, first clear “Toyota” displayed on the Bluetooth
® setting screen of
the mobile device.
• When the OS of the device is updated, the pairing information may be deleted. If this happens, reprogram the pairing infor-
mation to the Bluetooth
® unit.
• Before you pair your device, make sure that Bluetooth® is
“ON”, both on your phone and on the vehicle.

■To prevent a deterioration in the voice recognition rate and
voice quality, the following points should be observed:
• The voice recognition cannot be performed while voice guidance
or the beep sound is operating. Wait until the voice guidance o r
the beep sound is finished bef ore saying your commands.
• Phone related commands are available only when your phone is connected via Bluetooth
®. Make sure your phone is connected
via Bluetooth® before you operate phone related voice com-
mands.
• Music play commands, such as Play Artist and Play Album can be used only in USB audio mode.
• Do not speak too slowly o r loudly (no loud voice).
• Speak clearly, without pausi ng between words or numbers.
• Dialects or different wording other than hands-free prompts ca n-
not be recognized by voice recognition. Speak in the wording
specified by the voice commands.
• It is not necessary to face the microphone or approach it. Spe ak
the voice commands while maint aining a safe driving position.
• Close the windows to reduce loud noises from outside the vehi- cle, or turn down the airflow of the air-conditioning system wh ile
Bluetooth
® Hands-Free is being used.
• Make sure the vents are not directing air up towards the micro -
phone.
If the voice recognition perf ormance is not satisfactory.
Refer to Troubleshooting on P. 366.

Voice recognition using
Siri® is poor or incor-
rect for commands or
contact names.
There are many possi-
ble reasons for this
such as:
1. Poor network connectivity
2. Road noise/ sound of air
blowing from air
conditioner
3. Incorrect iPhone
® lan-
guage setting
1. Use the com- mander switch to
complete the task
or wait until there is
sufficient network
connectivity before
using Siri
® again.
2. For better voice recognition, speak
loud and clear.
3. Make sure that the iPhone
® language
is set correctly
(Example: US
English vs UK
English).
If you are still having
difficulty using Siri
®,
visit the Apple® support
site or contact Apple®.
There is a difference in
the audio volume
between Bluetooth
®
audio and Apple Car-
Play™.
-
Check the volume of
the audio on the device
connected via Blue-
tooth
®. The volume on
some devices con-
nected via Bluetooth
®
can be adjusted.

●Always check tire pressure when tires are cold.
●Warm tires normally exceed recommended pressures. Do not releas e
air from warm tires to adjust the pressure.
●Underinflation can cause reduced fuel economy, uneven and accel er-
ated tire wear, and poo r sealing of the tire bead, which will d eform the
wheel and cause separat ion of tire from rim.
●Overinflation can produce a harsh ride, uneven and accelerated tire
wear, and a greater p ossibility of damage from road hazards.
Keep your tire pressure at the correct levels. If one frequentl y needs
inflating, have it inspected.
During rotation, inspect them for
correct balance.
WARNING
■Always inflate the tires to the correct pressure
Overinflation or underinflation o f tires is dangerous. Adverse handling or
unexpected tire failure could result in a serious accident.
Refer to Tires on (P. 553).
■Use only a Toyota-genuine tire valve cap
Use of a non-genuine part is dangerous as the correct tire air pressure
cannot be maintained if the tire valve becomes damaged. If the vehicle
is driven under this condition, the tire air pressure will decr ease which
could result in a serious accident. Do not use any part for the tire valve
cap that is not a Toyota-genuine part.
