Oil Change
Setting Inter-
val
The oil replacement period can be
selected from the flexible setting or fixed
setting, or it can be set to non-display.
The flexible setting is available only in the
United States and Puerto Rico. Once
engine oil flexible maintenance is
selected, the vehicle calculates the
remaining oil life based on the engine
operating conditions. The vehicle lets you
know when an oil change is due by illumi-
nating the wrench indicator light in the
combination meter. Toyota Genuine
Motor Oil or equivalent are required to
achieve optimum performance.
Distance (mile
or km)
(Displays only
in fixed set-
ting)
Displays the distance until the oil replace-
ment is due.
Select this item to set the oil replacement
distance.
“Oil Change Due!” is displayed in red and
the wrench indicator light in the combina-
tion meter will be illuminated when the
remaining distance is less than 250 miles
or 500 km.
Oil life (%)
(Displays only
in flexible set-
ting)
Displays the engine oil life until the oil
replacement is due.
“Oil Change Due!” is displayed in red and
the wrench indicator light in the combina-
tion meter will be illuminated when the
remaining oil life distance is less than
250 miles (500 km), or remaining days
are less than 15 (whichever comes first).
Reset
In flexible setting:
Resets the remaining oil life to 100%.
In fixed setting:
Resets the remaining distance to the ini-
tial value.
Once the Flexible Oil Maintenance Set-
ting is selected, the system must be reset
whenever replacing the engine oil.

After replacing the engine oil, have a repair shop such as your Toyota
dealer perform the initialization (engine oil data resetting) o f the
recorded value. If the value recorded by the computer is not in itialized,
the wrench indicator light may not turn off or it may turn on e arlier than
normal.
● This procedure is intended for vehicles with the engine oil fle xible mainte-
nance setting selected.
● The initialization (engine oil data resetting) of the recorded value can be per-
formed using the following procedure:
Switch the ignition OFF.
Vehicle Engine Control U nit Reset Procedure
Switch the ignition ON with the selec-
tor pressed and continue pressing the
selector for about 5 seconds until the
master warning light flashes.
After the master warning light
flashes for several seconds, the ini-
tialization is completed.

Key Batter y Replacement
If the buttons on the smart key are inoperable and the operation indi-
cator light does not flash, the battery may be dead.
Replace with a new ba ttery before the smart key becomes unusabl e.
The following conditions indicate that the battery power is low :
• The KEY indicator light (green) flashes in the combination met er for
about 30 seconds after the engine is switched OFF.
• The system does not operate and the operation indicator light on
the smart key does not flash when the buttons are pressed.
• The system’s operational range is reduced.
Replacing the battery at your Toyota dealer is recommended to p re-
vent damage to the key. If replac ing the battery by yourself, follow the
instruction below.
■Replacing the key battery

the auxiliary key.

Maintenance and Care
Inspect the temporary spare tire at least monthly to make sure it is
properly inflated and stored.
The temporary spare tire is easier to handle because of its con struc-
tion which is lighter and smaller than a conventional tire. Thi s tire
should be used only for an emergency and only for a short dista nce.
Use the temporary spare tire o nly until the conventional tire is
repaired, which should be as soon as possible.
Refer to Tires on P. 553.
●The temporary spare tire condition gradually deteriorates even if it has
not been used.
●Tires degrade over time, even when they are not being used on t he
road. It is recommended that tires generally be replaced when t hey are
6 years or older. Heat caused by hot climates or frequent high loading
conditions can accelerate the aging process. You should replace the
spare tire when you replace the other road tires due to the agi ng of the
spare tire. The period in which the tire was manufactured (both week
and year) is indicated by a 4-digit number.
Refer to Tire Labeling on P. 522.
Proper tire balancing provides t he best riding comfort and help s
reduce tread wear. Out-of-balance tires can cause vibration and
uneven wear, such as c upping and flat spots.
When replacing a wheel, make sure the new one is the same as th e orig-
inal factory wheel in diameter, rim width, and offset (inset/outset).
For details, contact your Toyota dealer.
Temporary Spare Tire
NOTICE
●Do not use your temporary spare tire rim with a snow tire or a conven-
tional tire. Neither will properly fit and could damage both tire and rim.
●The temporary spare tire has a tread life of less than 3,000 mi les
(5,000 km). The tread life may be shorter depending on driving condi-
tions.
●The temporary spare tire is for limited use, however, if the tr ead wear
solid-band indicator appears, replace the tire with the same ty pe of
temporary spare ( P. 417).

WARNING
■Always use wheels of the correct size on your vehicle
Using a wrong-sized wheel is dangerous. Braking and handling could
be affected, leading to loss of control and an accident.
NOTICE
A wrong-sized wheel may adversely affect:
●Tire fit
●Wheel and bearing life
●Ground clearance
●Snow-chain clearance
●Speedometer calibration
●Headlight aim
●Bumper height
●Tire Pressure Monitoring System (if equipped)
