NOTICE
■Cleaning the exterior lights
● Wash carefully. Do not use organic substances or scrub with a h ard brush.
This may damage the surfaces of the lights.
● Do not apply wax to the surfaces of the lights.
Wax may cause damage to the lenses.
■ Antenna installation a nd removal precautions
● Before driving, ensure that the antenna is installed.
● When the antenna is removed, such as before entering an automat ic car
wash, make sure to store it in a suitable place so as not to lose it. Also,
before driving, make sure to reinstall the antenna in its origi nal position.
■ When using a high pressure car wash
● Do not bring the nozzle tip close to boots (rubber or resin man ufactured
cover), connectors or the following parts. The parts may be dam aged if
they come into contact with high-pressure water.
• Traction related parts
• Steering parts
• Suspension parts
• Brake parts
● Keep the cleaning nozzle at least 11.9 in. (30 cm) away from th e vehicle
body. Otherwise resin section, such as moldings and bumpers, ma y be
deformed and damaged. Also, do not continuously hold the nozzle in the
same place.
● Do not spray the lower part of the windshield continuously.
If water enters the air conditioning system intake located near the lower
part of the windshield, the air conditioning system may not ope rate cor-
rectly.
■ Cleaning the high mounted stoplight and cargo lamps
When using high-pressured car washers, the tip of the nozzle sh ould be at
least 20 in. (50 cm) from the car body. Water can seep lamp hou sing or the
vehicle cabin if the nozzle is closer to the car body.

Lights• Do all the lights come on?
Windshield wipers
• The wiper blades should not show any signs
of cracking, splitting, wear, contamination or
deformation.
• The wiper blades should clear the windshield without streaking or skipping.
WARNING
■If the engine is running
Turn the engine off and ensure that there is adequate ventilati on before per-
forming maintenance checks.

■How to initialize the tire pressure warning systemPark the vehicle in a safe place and turn the engine switch off .
Initialization cannot be performed while the vehicle is moving.
Adjust the tire inflation pressure to the specified cold tire i nflation
pressure level. ( P. 546)
Make sure to adjust the tire pre ssure to the specified cold tire infla-
tion pressure level. The tire pressure warning system will oper ate
based on this pr essure level.
Turn the engine switch to ON.
Press and hold the tire pres-
sure warning reset switch
until the tire pressure warn-
ing light blinks 3 times.
A message is displayed on the
multi-information display. Also,
“--” is displayed for inflation
pressure of each tire on the
multi-information display while
the tire pressure warning sys-
tem determines the position.
Drive straight (with occasional left and right turns) at approxi-
mately 25 mph (40 km/h) or more for approximately 10 to 30 min-
utes.
Initialization is complete when the position of each tire is determined
and the inflation pressure of ea ch tire is displayed on the multi-infor-
mation display.
Initialization may take longer than approximately 30 minutes in cer-
tain situations, such as when the vehicle is stopped for a long time at
traffic lights, etc. ( P. 434)

◆Registering ID codes
Every tire pressure warning valve and transmitter has a unique ID
code. When replacing a tire pressure warning valve and transmit ter,
it is necessary to register the ID codes.
To register the ID codes, perf orm the following procedure:
Press the tire pressure warn-
ing reset switch 3 times until
the tire pressure warning
light blinks slowly 3 times.
Then a message will be dis-
played on multi-information
display. When registration is
being performed, the tire pres-
sure warning light will blink for
approximately 1 minute then
illuminate and “--” will be dis-
played for the inflation pres-
sure of each tire on the multi-
information display.
Drive straight (with occasional left and right turns) at approxi-
mately 25 mph (40 km/h) or more for approximately 10 to 30 min-
utes.
Registration is complete when the tire pressure warning light
turns off and the inflation pressure of each tire is displayed on the
multi-information display.
Registration may take longer t han approximately 30 minutes in
certain situations, such as when the vehicle is stopped for a long
time at traffic lights, etc. (→P. 434)
After registering the ID codes, make sure to initialize the tir e

Check if the fuse is blown.Normal fuse
Blown fuse
Type A and B:
Replace the blown fuse with a new fuse of an appropriate ampera ge rat-
ing. The amperage rating can be found on the fuse box cover.
Type C:
Contact your Toyota dealer.
■ After a fuse is replaced
●If the lights do not turn on even after the fuse has been repla ced, a bulb may
need replacement. ( P. 455)
● If the replaced fuse blows again, have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota
dealer.
■ If there is an overload in a circuit
The fuses are designed to blow, protecting the wiring harness f rom damage.

Light bulbs
Check the wattage of the light bulb to be replaced. ( P. 548)
■Front
You may replace the following bul bs by yourself. The difficulty
level of replacement varies depending on the bulb. If neces-
sary bulb replacement seems difficult to perform, contact your
To y o t a d e a l e r.
For more information about replacing other light bulbs, contact
your Toyota dealer.

fender liner clip, and remove
the fender liner.
Turn the steering wheel to the
left when replacing the right side
