Changing the battery
Do not throw the remote control batteries away, they contain metals which are harmful to the environment.Take them to an approved collection point.
If the battery is flat, you are informed by lighting of this warning lamp in the instrument panel, an audible signal and a message in the screen.
Reinitialisation

F If fitted to your vehicle, check that the electric child lock is not on.F Open the left-hand door.
Battery ref.: CR1620 / 3 volts.
F Lock the driver's door using the key.F Press one of the remote control buttons.
F Turn the key to position 2 (Ignition on).F Switch off the ignition and remove the key from the ignition switch.The remote control is fully operational again.

Remote control problem
Following disconnection of the vehicle battery, replacement of the remote control battery or in the event of a remote control malfunction, you can no longer unlock, lock or locate your vehicle.F First of all, use the key in the lock to unlock or lock your vehicle.F Then reinitialise the remote control.If the problem persists, contact an authorized
Toyota dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional as soon as possible.
F Insert the key into the latch aperture on the edge of the door (without forcing) and slide the assembly upward.F Remove the key.F Close the door and check from the outside that it has locked correctly.
F Unclip the cover using a screwdriver in the cut-out.F Remove the cover.F Extract the flat battery from its location.F Place the new battery into its location obser ving the original direction.F Clip the cover in place.

Battery ref.: CR2032 / 3 volts.This replacement battery is available from an authorized Toyota dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional.A message appears in the instrument panel screen when replacement of the battery is needed.

Long range remote control
The range of the remote control is about 0.6 miles (1 km), in open country.
The indicator lamp in the remote control flashes for about 2 seconds if the vehicle has not received the signal.You should then move to a different location and repeat the command.
Changing the battery
If the indicator lamp in the remote control becomes orange, the state of charge of the battery is low.If the indicator lamp is not on, the battery is discharged.
F Use a coin to unscrew the cap and replace the bulb.
With Toyota Pro Touch with navigation system
F Press the "Applications" menu.
F Press "Temperature programming".
F Press the "Vehicle Apps" tab.
F Press the "Status" tab to activate/deactivate the system.F Press the "Parameters" tab to select "Heating" mode to heat the engine and passenger compartment or "Ventilation" mode to ventilate the passenger compartment.F Then set /save the activation time for each selection.F Press "OK" to confirm.

Localised Assistance Call
For technical reasons, particularly to improve the quality of Telematic ser vices to customers, the manufacturer reserves the right to carry out updates to the vehicle's on-board telematic system.
The fault with the system does not prevent the vehicle being driven.
Press this button for more than 2 seconds to request assistance if the vehicle breaks down.A voice message confirms that the call has been started*.
Pressing this button again immediately cancels the request.The cancellation is confirmed by a voice message.
Geo-location
You can deactivate geo-location by
simultaneously pressing the "Localised Emergency Call" and "Localised Assistance Call" buttons, followed by a press on "Localised Assistance Call" to confirm.
To reactivate geo-location, simultaneously press the "Localised Emergency Call" and "Localised Assistance Call" buttons again, followed by a press on "Localised Assistance Call" to confirm.
The orange indicator lamp is on fixed: the back-up battery should be replaced.In both cases, the emergency and assistance calls ser vice may not work.Contact a qualified repairer as soon as possible.
Operation of the system
When the ignition is switched on, the green indicator lamp comes on for 3 seconds indicating that the system is operating correctly.
The orange indicator lamp flashes then goes off: the system has a fault.
