Turns the lights on/off
When the lights are on due to the
door link switch, a light will not turn
off even if its switch is pressed.
■Illuminated entry system
Vehicles without a smart key system
When the interior light switch is in the door position, the int erior lights auto-
matically turn on/off according to the engine switch position, whether the
doors are locked/unlocked and whether the doors are open/closed .
Vehicles with a smart key system
When the interior light switch is in the door position, the int erior lights and
engine switch light automatically turn on/off according to engine switch mode,
the presence of the electronic key, whether the doors are locke d/unlocked
and whether the doors are open/closed.
■ Outer mirror illumination (if equipped)
The illumination automatically turns on according to the presen ce of the elec-
tronic key (vehicles with a smart key system), or the doors are unlocked.
■ To prevent battery discharge
The following lights will turn off automatically after 20 minut es:
● Front interior light/front personal lights
● Rear interior light
● Luggage compartment light
● Vanity lights (if equipped)
■ Customization
Settings (e.g. the time elapsed before lights turn off) can be changed.

NOTICE
■Cleaning the exterior lights
● Wash carefully. Do not use organic substances or scrub with a h ard brush.
This may damage the surfaces of the lights.
● Do not apply wax to the surfaces of the lights.
Wax may cause damage to the lenses.
■ To prevent damage to th e windshield wiper arms
When lifting the wiper arms away from the windshield, pull the driver side
wiper arm upward first, and then the passenger side. When returning the
wipers to their original position, do so from the passenger sid e first.
■ When using a high pressure car wash
● When washing the vehicle, do not let water of the high pressure washer hit
directly or the vicinity of the camera. Due to the shock from t he high pres-
sure water, it is possible the device may not operate as normal .
● Do not bring the nozzle tip close to boots (rubber or resin man ufactured
cover), connectors or the following parts. The parts may be dam aged if
they come into contact with high-pressure water.
• Traction related parts
• Steering parts
• Suspension parts
• Brake parts
● Keep the cleaning nozzle at least 11.9 in. (30 cm) away from th e vehicle
body. Otherwise resin section, such as moldings and bumpers, ma y be
deformed and damaged.
Also, do not continuously hold the nozzle in the same place.
● Do not spray the lower part of the windshield continuously.
If water enters the air conditioning system intake located near the lower
part of the windshield, the air conditioning system may not ope rate cor-
rectly.
■ When raising the windshield wiper arms
Make sure to hold the hook parts of the
wiper arms to raise them.
Do not hold only the wiper blades when
raising them, or it may cause deformation
of the wiper blades.

• Does the steering wheel rotate smoothly?
• Does the steering wheel have the correctamount of free play?
• There should not be any strange sounds com- ing from the steering wheel.

■After a fuse is replaced
●If the lights do not turn on even after the fuse has been repla ced, a bulb may
need replacement. ( P. 393)
● If the replaced fuse blows again, have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota
dealer.
■ If there is an overload in a circuit
The fuses are designed to blow, protecting the wiring harness f rom damage.
■ When replacing light bulbs
Toyota recommends that you use genuine Toyota products designed for this
vehicle. Because certain bulbs are connected to circuits designed to prevent
overload, non-genuine parts or parts not designed for this vehicle may be
unusable.
WARNING
■ To prevent system breakdowns and vehicle fire
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may cause damage to the vehicle, and possibly a fire or
injury.
● Never use a fuse of a higher amperage rating than that indicate d, or use
any other object in place of a fuse.
● Always use a genuine Toyota fuse or equivalent.
Never replace a fuse with a wire, even as a temporary fix.
● Do not modify the fuses or fuse boxes.

Have the cause of electrical overload determined and repaired b y your
Toyota dealer as soon as possible.
