Setting there ve rsing camera or 360° Cam‐
era
The reve rsing camera is only an aid. It is not a
substitute foryo ur attention tothe sur roundings.
The responsibility for safe manoeuvring and
parking remains with you. Make sure that no
persons, animals or objects etc. are in the
manoeuvring range. Pay attention to your sur‐
ro undings and be ready tobrake at all times.

nction of Parking Assist PARKTRONIC
Pa rking Assist PARKTRONIC is an electronic
parking assi stance sy stem which monitors the
area sur rounding your vehicle and sho wsyouthe
dis tance between theve hicle and a de tected
obs tacle visually and audibly.
The passi veside impact pr otection also warns
yo u of obs tacles tothe side. These must be
de tected beforehand bythe sensors in the front
or rear bumper while driving bythem. If you
st eer in the direction of a de tected obs tacle and
th ere is a risk of a lateral collision, a warning is
issued. The passive side impact pr otection can Driving and parking

Ve hicles with trailer hitch: Parking Assist
PA RKTRONIC is deacti vatedfo rth ere ar zone
when you es tablish an elect rical connection
between your vehicle and a trailer. Problems with
Parking Assist PARKTRONIC
If th ePa rking Assist PARKTRONIC display lights
up redfo r appro ximately 3 seconds and then
goes out, and theé symbol appears in the
driver displa y,Pa rking Assist PARKTRONIC may
ha ve been deactivated due tosignal inter fer‐
ence. Start theve hicle again and check if Park‐
ing Assist PARKTRONIC is working at a dif fere nt
location.
If a warning tone also sounds, it may be due to
one of thefo llowing causes:
R The sensors are dirty: cleanthe sensors
and obser vethe no tes on care of vehicle
parts (/ page 356).
R Parking Assist PARKTRONIC has been
deactivated due toa malfunction: restart
th eve hicle. If the problem persists, consult a
qu alified specialist workshop. Ac

nction of cross traf fic wa rning
The cross traf fic wa rning can warnyou of cross‐
ing traf fic when you are reve rsing out of a park‐
ing space. The radar sensors in the bumper also
monitor the area adjacent totheve hicle.
The cross traf fic wa rning is automatically active
when youre ve rse at a speed of less than appr ox‐
imately 10km/h.
If a critical situation is de tected, thefo llowing
symbol appears in red in the selected view in the
Camera & parking menu:The
vehicle can be automatically braked.
% Ifth e cross traf fic wa rning is not available,
th e same symbol appears in gr ey. If the
Camera & parking menu is not opened in the
central displ ay,th e symbol and pop-up of
Pa rking Assist PARKTRONIC bo thappear.
The cross traf fic wa rning is only an aid and not a

The cross traf fic wa rning cannot alw ays
clear lyidentify objects and traf fic situations. #
Alw ays pay careful attention tothe traf‐
fi c situation; do not rely on the cross
tra ffic wa rning alone. #
Be prepared tobrake or swer veas nec‐
essar y,prov ided the tra ffic situation
permits and that it is safe totake eva‐
sive action. Sy
stem limits
The sy stem limits of Active Parking Assist apply
(/ page 271).
If th era dar sensors are obstructed byvehicles
or other objects, de tection is not possible. In
thefo llowing situations, the cross traf fic wa rn‐
ing is not available:
R on inclines
R if transpo rtequipment, forex ample a trailer
or bicycle rack , is attached tothe trailer
hitch and the electrical connection has been
cor rectly es tablished
Manoeuvring brake function
The manoeuvring brake function can pr event col‐
lisions wi thpedestrians when theve hicle is
re ve rsing at slow speeds. If there ve rsing camera
de tects a person in theve hicle path, theve hicle
can be braked toast andstill.
The manoeuv ring brake function can inter vene
under thefo llowing conditions:
R The vehicle is reve rsing at a speed slo wer
th an 10 km/h.
R The camera ima geis shown in the cent ral
display (/ page 266).
% You can activate and deactivate the manoeu‐

Alw ays switch off the windscreen wip‐
ers and the ignition before cleaning the
windscreen or wiper blades. &
WARNING Risk of bu rns from theta il‐
pipe and tailpipe trims
The exhaust tailpipe and tailpipe trims can
become very hot. If you come into contact
with these parts of theve hicle, you could
burn yourself. #
Alw ays be particular lycareful around
th eta ilpipe and theta ilpipe trims and
supervise children especially closely in
th is area. #
Allow vehicle parts tocool down before
to uching them. To
avo id damage totheve hicle, obser vethe
no tes on cleaning and care of thefo llowing vehi‐
cle parts:
Wheels and rims
R Use wate r and acid-free alloy wheel cleaners.R
Do not use acidic alloy wheel cleaners to
re mo vebrake dust. This could damage wheel
bolts and brake components.
R Toavo id cor rosion of the brake disks and
brakepads, drive theve hicle for a few
minutes af ter cleaning before parking it. The
brake disks and brakepads warm up and dry
out.
Wi ndo ws
R Clean the windo wsinside and outside with a
damp clo thand with a cleaning agent recom‐
mended for Mercedes-Benz.
R Do not use dry clo ths or abrasive or sol vent-
based cleaning agents toclean the inside of
windo ws.
% Remo veextern al fogging or dirt on the wind‐
screen in front of the multifunction camera.
Otherwise, driving sy stems and driving
saf ety sy stems may be impaired or not avail‐
able (/ page 220).
Wi per blades
R Movethe wiper arms into there placement
position (/ page165). R
With th e wiper arms folded out, clean the
wiper blades with a damp clo th.
R Do not clean the wiper blades too of ten.
Ex terior lighting
R Clean the lenses with a wet sponge and mild
cleaning agent, e.g. car sha mpoo.
R Only use cleaning agents or cleaning clo ths
th at are suitable for plast ic lenses.
Sensors
R Clean the sensors in the front and rear
bumpers with a soft clo thand car shampoo
(/ page 220).
R When using a high-pressure cleaner, main tain
a minimum dis tance of 30 cm.
Re versing camera and 360° Camera
R Open the camera co ver with the multimedia
sy stem (/ page 267).
R Use clean water and a soft clo thtoclean the
came ralens.
R Do not use a high-pressure cleaner. Maintenance and care
