s on climate control An interior air
filter in combination with the pre‐
fi lter in the engine compartment must alw ays be
used so that the air conditioning sy stem, pollu‐
tion le vel monitoring and the air filtration work
cor rectl y.Make sure that thefilter is ins talled
cor rectly and thefilter housing in the engine
compartment is closed cor rectly using the cap
and alw ays tightly sealed when in operation. Use
fi lters recommended and appr ovedby
Mercedes-Benz. Alw ays ha veservice workcar‐

Do not touch the windscreen while the
windscreen heater is swit ched on. #
Allow the windscreen tocool down
before touching it. The windsc
reen heater will be enabled automati‐
cally if ¬is activated on the climate bar on
th e cent ral displa y.

te d or they may even suf fer burn-like injuries. #
Do not repeatedly switch on the seat
heating. To
protect against overheating, the seat heating
may be temp orarily deactivated af ter it is
switched on repeatedly.
% This function is available on ly invehicles
with a 48 V on-board electrical sy stem (EQ
Boost tech nology).
The air inside theve hicle can be heated, ventila‐
te d or cooled tothe set temp erature when the
ve hicle is par ked.
When theve hicle is connected topowe r supply
equipment, priority is given tocharging the 48 V
battery toa specified minimum charge.
The running time of pre-entry clima tecontrol
may be reduced under thefo llowing conditions:
R The vehicle is not connected topowe r supp ly
equipment.
R The 48 V battery is not fully charge d.
Wi th active pre-ent ryclimate control, thech arge
le ve l of the 48 V battery may be reduced, even if

Note s on aquaplaning
Aq uaplaning can take place once a cer tain
amount of water has accumulated on thero ad
sur face. Obser
vethefo llowing no tes during heavy precip‐
itation or in conditions in which aquaplaning may
occur:
R reduce speed
R avoid tyre ruts
R avoid sudden steering mo vements
R brake carefully

Note s on driving through water on the road
sur face
Wa ter which has entered into theve hicle can
damage the engine, electrics and transmission.
Wa ter can also enter the air intake of the engine
and cause engine damage.
Obser vethefo llowing if you must drive thro ugh
wate r:
R The water,when calm, may only reach the
lo we r edge of theve hicle body.
R Drive at a maximum speed of 10km/h;
wate r can otherwise enter theve hicle interior
or engine compartment. R
Vehicles tr avelling in front, or oncoming vehi‐
cles, can create waves which may exceed the
maximum permissible dep thofthewate r.
The braking ef fect of the brakes is reduced af ter
fo rd ing. Brake carefully while paying attention to
th e tra ffic conditions until braking po wer has
been fully restored. Fu
nction of rear axle steering The
rear axle steering is an electromechanical
auxiliary steering on there ar axle which adjusts
th esteering of there ar wheels according tothe
position of the front wheels, depending on the
speed. This results in greater manoeuvrability
and impr oved driving stabilit y,e.g. when corner‐
ing.
Re ar axle steering has thefo llowing characteris‐
tics:
R reduced steering ef fort and turning circle

Sy stem limits
If th e calculated route is adhered towhen route
guidance is active, ECO Assist will operate with
greater accuracy. The basic function is also
av ailable without active route guidance. Notall
information and traf fic situations can be fore‐
seen. The quality depends on the map data.
ECO Assist is only an aid. The driver is responsi‐
ble forke eping a safe dis tance from theve hicle
in front, forve hicle speed and for braking in
good time.
The sy stem may be impaired or may not function
in thefo llowing situations:
R Ifth ere is poor visibility, e.g. due toinsuf fi‐
cient illumination of thero ad, high lyvariable
shade conditions, rain, sno w,fog or heavy
spr ay.
R Ifth ere is glare, e.g. from oncoming traf fic,
di re ct sunlight or reflections. R
Ifth e windscreen is dirty in the area of the
multifunction camera, or if the camera is
mis ted up, damaged or co vered.
R Ifth e tra ffic signs are hard todetect, e.g. due
to dirt, snow or insuf ficient lighting, or
because they are co vered.
R Ifth e information in the navigation sy stem's
digital map is incor rect or out-of-da te.
R Ifth e signs are ambiguous, e.g. road signs in
