Oil Change Setting Interval
Oil replacement period can be selected from the fixed setting.
The vehicle lets you know when
an oil change is due by illumi-
nating the wrench indicator light in the instrument cluster.
Distance (km or mile) Displays the distance until the oil replacement is due.
Select this item to set the oil replacement distance.
The wrench indication/indicator lig
ht in the instrument cluster
will be illuminated when the remaining distance is less than 1,000
km or 600 mile.
Reset Resets the remaining distance to the initial value.
Once the system turns on, it need
s to be reset whenever replacing
the engine oil.

Replenishment of DEF by an Authorized
Mazda Dealer is recommended. If you
want to replenish the DEF yourself,
follow the replenishment procedure
below.

Replenishment Procedure
1. Check the remaining amount of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) on the
multi-information display.
(Instrument cluster (Type A))
Refer to Remaining Diesel Exhaust

Distance Display (SKYACTIV-D 2.2)
on page 4-21.
(Instrument cluster (Type B))
Refer to Remaining Diesel Exhaust

on page 4-37.
3.8 L (1.0 US gal, 0.84 Imp gal) of
DEF or more needs to be added.
NOTE
The replenishment amount (reference)
according to the DEF level (%)

2. Stop the vehicle on level ground.
3. Switch the ignition OFF.
4. Open the fuel-filler lid.
Refer to Refueling on page 3-34.
5. Open the cap of the DEF filler port.
Open Close
6. Remove the cap of a bottle containing
DEF, insert the bottle into the DEF
filler port, and screw it in lightly until
it stops.

CAUTION
If too much DEF is added, the SCR
system might display a warning.
Contact an Authorized Mazda Dealer if
a warning is displayed. If the warning
remains displayed, the urea tank may
have a problem or it may be damaged.
NOTE
If excessive force is applied when
pressing in the bottom of the bottle,
the bottle or the DEF filler port may
be damaged.
When the urea tank is full, stop
adding DEF because the flow from
the bottle slows down by the bottle's
auto-stop function. If you continue
adding DEF, the urea tank will
overfill.
7. Press in the bottom of the bottle
straight and add DEF.

8. Remove the bottle in the reverse order
of the insertion. At this time, be careful
of DEF dripping from the bottle.
9. Tighten the cap of the DEF filler portuntil you hear two or more click
sounds.
10. Switch the ign ition ON once.
11. Check the following while the vehicle
is stopped.
No DEF level warning indication is
displayed on the multi-information
display.
The DEF level (%) indication on the
multi-information display shows an
increase.

12. Switch the ignition OFF.
If the above indications remain
unchanged even after one minute has
passed with the vehicle stopped:
If you have already added 3.8 L (1.0 US
gal, 0.84 Imp gal) of DEF according to
the DEF level (%) indication on the
multi-information display, prepare an
additional 3.8 L (1.0 US gal, 0.84 Imp
gal) of DEF or more and add it
following the replenishment procedure.
If you added the correct amount of DEF,
the DEF level (%) indication on the
multi-information display will show an
increase while the vehicle is being
driven. If the DEF level (%) shows no
increase or the speed restriction does not

Key Battery Replacement
If the buttons on the transmitter are
inoperable and the operation indicator
light does not flash, the battery may be
dead.
Replace with a new battery before the
transmitter becomes unusable.
CAUTION
Make sure the battery is installed
correctly. Battery leakage could occur if it
is not installed correctly.
 When replacing the battery, be careful
not to touch any of the internal circuitry
and electrical terminals, bend the
electrical terminals, or get dirt in the
transmitter as the transmitter could be
damaged.
 There is the danger of explosion if the
battery is not correctly replaced.
 Dispose of used ba tteries according to
the following instructions.
 Insulate the plus and minus terminals
of the battery using cellophane or
equivalent tape.
 Never disassemble.
 Never throw the battery into fire or
water.
 Never deform or crush.
 Replace only with the same type battery.
(Type A)
Use CR2025 or an equivalent.
(Type B)
Use CR2032 or an equivalent.
The following conditi ons indicate that the
battery power is low:
The KEY indicator light (green) flashes
in the instrument cluster for about 30
seconds after the engine is switched
OFF (for vehicles with a type A/type B
instrument cluster (page 4-13, 4-30),
messages are displayed in the instrument
cluster).
The system does not operate and the
operation indicator light on the
transmitter does no t flash when the
buttons are pressed.
The system's operational range is
reduced.
Replacing the battery at an Authorized
Mazda Dealer, is recommended to prevent
damage to the key. If replacing the battery
by yourself, follow the instruction.

Parking in an Emergency
The hazard warning lights should always
be used when you stop on or near a
roadway in an emergency.

The hazard warning lights warn other
drivers that your vehicle is a traffic hazard
and that they must take extreme caution
when near it.

Depress the hazard warning flasher and all
the turn signals will flash. The hazard
warning indicator ligh ts in the instrument
cluster flash simultaneously.
NOTE
The turn signals do not work when the
hazard warning lights are on.
Check local regulations about the use of
hazard warning lights while the vehicle
is being towed to verify that it is not in
violation of the law.

If a Warning Light Turns On or Flashes
If any warning light turns on/flashes, take appropriate action for each light. There is no
problem if the light turns off, ho wever if the light does not turn off or turns on/flashes again,
consult an Authorized Mazda Dealer.
The details for some warnings can be viewed on the center display or multi-information
display (Type A/Type B) in the instrument cluster.
Center display
1. If the warning light is turned on, select the icon on the home screen to display the
Applications screen.
2. Select “Vehicle Status Monitor”.
3. Select “Warning Guidance” to display the current warnings.
4. Select the applicable warni ng to view the warning details.
Multi-information display (Type A/Type B)
1. Press the INFO switch on the steering swit ch to display the warning indication screen.

▼ Stop Vehicle in Safe Place Immediately
If any of the following warning lights turns on,
the system may have a malfunction. Stop the
vehicle in a safe place immediately and contact an Authorized Mazda Dealer.

same time.
This indicates a malfunction w ith the vehicle system. Check the message indicated in the
display and consult an Authorized Mazda Dealer.

cator lights section, which match the symbol in the upper part of the display.
If a message is not indicated in the display, operate the INFO switch to display the “Warn-
ing” screen.

With Multi-information Display (Type C)
The light illuminates continuously if any one of the following occurs . Consult an Author-
ized Mazda Dealer.

has a malfunction. Have your vehicle in-
