Wireless Smartphone Charging System*
1 Place a compatible smartphone on the center of the charging pad
2 Indicator light A will change to amber once the wireless charging begins
3 Once charging is complete, the amber light will change to green
REMINDERS:

The smartphone must be a compatible phone with QI function available
•
Avoid placing other metal items in the bin while charging as to not impede the charging area

This vehicle is equipped with wireless charging technology which allows for a device to be charged using inductive charging, however, device compatibility varies See your Owner’s Manual for more detailed information and the back page for legal disclaimers

Inductive charging systems are less ef ficient than conventional charging through cable As a result, higher device operating temperatures may be experienced during use
•
Charging Performance – Your device’s position on the wireless charging system can affect charging performance Other factors that may affect the charging rate include foreign objects, such as coins or pens, and phone case thickness
•If driver door is opened, charging will be disabled

•Wireless charging must be enabled in user settings
•For wireless charging to occur, all doors (excluding rear hatch) must be closed & the Smart Key Fob must be detected inside the vehicle
•For best results, place smart-phone on the center of the charging pad
• If wireless charging does not work, move smartphone around the pad until the charging indicator turns amber Avoid placing other metal items in the bin while charging as to not impede the charging area

Auto Hold temporarily maintains the vehicle at a standstill
even though the brake pedal is not depressed after the
driver brings the vehicle to a complete stop by depressing
the brake pedal Auto Hold can be turned On/Off using the
AUTO HOLD button B on the center panel below the gear
shift Before Auto Hold will operate, the driver’s door, engine
hood and liftgate must be closed, and the driver’s seat belt
must be fastened
The AUTO HOLD indicator on the Instrument Cluster
has four states:
White: Standby - With vehicle at a standstill and AUTO
HOLD button B pressed ON, the indicator will illuminate
white While driving the vehicle (vehicle is not at a
standstill), the Auto Hold indicator will remain white
Green: Engaged - When coming to a complete stop
by depressing the brake pedal, the Auto Hold indicator
changes from white to green
Off (not illuminated) - The indicator will turn off when the AUTO HOLD button B is
manually pressed off or when the EPB is manually turned on
Yellow: Malfunction - When the indicator is illuminated yellow, there may be a system
malfunction Take your vehicle to a local Kia dealer
REMINDERS:
•
Auto Hold only operates when vehicle is in Drive or Neutral
•
To reduce the risk of an accident, do not activate Auto Hold while driving downhill, backing up or parking your vehicle
•
Do not solely rely on the Auto Hold system to keep the vehicle stopped Always pay attention to traf fic and road conditions, and be prepared to depress the brakes

Electronic Parking Brake (EPB)*
The Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) system utilizes an electric
motor to engage the parking brake
Applying the Parking Brake
Depress the brake pedal and pull up the EPB switch A Ensure
that the indicator light is illuminated on the instrument cluster
If parked on a steep incline/decline, pull up the EPB switch for
more than 3 seconds for a firmer EPB application
Releasing the Parking Brake
The EPB will automatically release when the shifter is placed in
Reverse or Drive To release EPB manually, depress the brake
pedal, then press the EPB switch A, with the ignition switch in
the ON position Ensure that the indicator light is O F F

•When leaving your keys with parking lot attendants or valet, make sure to inform them how to operate the EPB
•Pull up and hold EPB switch a second time to increase brake pressure if parked on a decline or incline

REMINDERS:

As a bulb check, the EPB malfunction indicator will illuminate for approximately 3 seconds when the ignition switch is turned ON
•
If the warning light does not illuminate temporarily, or continues to remain lit, take your vehicle to an authorized Kia dealer and have the system checked
•The EPB should not be operated while the vehicle is moving
•
A click or electric brake motor sound may be heard while operating or releasing the EPB, but these conditions are normal and indicate that the EPB is functioning properly

HomeLink® Setup - How to Sync Transmitter
If programming for the first time, begin with Step 1
(repeating this step will delete all information)
To program non-rolling and rolling code garage
door openers and other devices:

Press and hold the left A and center D buttons
simultaneously until the indicator light C begins
to flash (to reprogram buttons, skip this step)
2 Press and hold the desired button A, B or D
and hold the button on the transmitter while it
is approximately 1 to 3 inches away from the
mirror The HomeLink® Indicator light C will
flash rapidly once the frequency signal has been
successfully programmed
To finish programming rolling code garage door
openers, complete these steps:
3 Locate the “learn” or “smart” button on the garage door’s motor head unit
Press and release the button and complete Step 4 within 30 seconds
4 Firmly press and release the programmed HomeLink® button up to three times
• You can reprogram a single HomeLink® button by repeating Step 2• Erasing programmed buttons will delete all trained transmitters

Map/Room LampsPanoramic Sunroof Operation

The interior lights automatically turn off approximately 30
seconds after the ignition or Engine Start /Stop button* is OFF
Map Lamp/Room Lamp Operation
Push the lens A to turn the map lamp ON/OFF This light
produces a spot beam for convenient use as a map lamp or
as a personal lamp for the driver or the front passenger
Front/Rear Room Lamps Button – Press button B
to turn the front and rear room lamps on and off
Door Mode Button – Press button C, to enable or disable
Door Mode In Door Mode, the map and room lamps turn on
when any door is opened When all doors are locked or the
ignition is on, the map and room lamp will turn off immediately
Rear Room Lamps – Press the button D to turn the rear
passenger lamp ON/OFF
The sunroof operation is controlled through a
multidirectional switch/lever The ignition or Engine
Start /Stop button* needs to be in the
ON position to operate the sunroof
To slide the sunshade and sunroof:
• Auto Open: Slide the lever E backward to
the farthest position and release
• Auto Close (sunroof only): Slide the lever E
forward to the farthest position and release
To slide the sunshade only:
• Open: Slide the lever E partially backward
to the first detent position and release
• Auto Close: Slide the lever E partially forward to
the first detent position and release
To slide the sunroof (with sunshade open):
• Open: Slide the lever E backward to the first detent position and release
• Close: Slide the lever E forward to the first detent position and release to close
sunroof glass only Slide the lever backward to the farthest position
and release to close sunroof glass and sunshade
To tilt the sunroof:
• Raise: Push lever E upward
• Lower: Push lever E forward
• When doors are unlocked by the Smart Key, the lamp turns ON for approximately 30 seconds
• If your vehicle is equipped with the theft alarm system, the interior lights automatically turn off approximately 3 seconds after the system is in armed stage
• Using interior lights for an extended period of time may cause battery discharge

To stop the sunroof/sunshade at any position, push or pull the sunroof control lever in any direction

REMINDERS:
• Sunshade needs to remain OPEN while sunroof is open
• Sunshade cannot slide when the sunroof is in the tilt position or tilt while in an open or slide position
• Do not adjust the sunroof or sunshade while driving This could result in loss of control of the vehicle

Smart Key:
To open the Power Liftgate, press and hold the Liftgate button D until the Liftgate
begins opening Press again to close
REMINDER: Pulling the Rear Hatch upward by the handle or pressing the button a second time will interrupt the automatic opening of the Power Liftgate
Power Liftgate Opening Height Adjustment
Adjust the liftgate height opening to suit user's preference The height setting
of a fully opened liftgate can be adjusted by the following steps:
1 Position the liftgate manually to the preferred height
2 Press Power Liftgate Close button B more than 3 seconds
3 A system beep will sound twice indicating the height setting has been saved
The liftgate will then open to the set height To change setting again, repeat
steps 1-3
REMINDER: Ensure objects and people are out of the way when operating the power liftgate
