Instrument Cluster Control
Adjusting Instrument Cluster
Illumination
The brightness of the instrument
panel illumination is changed by
pressing the illumination control button
(“+” or “-”) when the Engine Start/Stop
button is ON, or the taillights are
turned on. If you hold the illumination control
button (“+” or “-”), the brightness
will be changed continuously.
If the brightness reaches the maxi- mum or minimum level, an alarm
will sound.
LCD Window Control
The LCD Window modes can be
changed by using the control buttons
on the steering wheel.
(1) : MODE button for changing modes
(2) / : MO VE scroll switch for
selecting the items
(3) OK : SET/RESET button for set- ting the items or resetting
the items

er-controlled driver information sys-
tem that displays information related
to driving.

Assist, Lane Following Assist),
Highway Driving Assist), Smart

Shift to P or N to start engine
This warning message illuminatesif you try to start the engine with
the transmission not in the P (Park)
or N (Neutral) position.
✽ ✽ NOTICE
You can start the engine with the
transmission in the N (Neutral) posi-
tion. But, for your safety, we recom-
mend that you start the engine with
the transmission in the P (Park) posi-
tion.
Windows open
The window status will be dis-
played for six seconds if the win-
dow is opened with the ignition
“OFF”. Close the window.
Door, Hood, Trunk
It means that a door, hood, or trunkis open.
The hood warning message will appear on the LCD display when
hood is open.
The warning chime will operate
when the vehicle is being driven at
or above 2 mph (3 km/h) with the
hood open.

Description
The head up display is a transparent
display which projects a shadow of
some information from the instru-
ment cluster and navigation on the
windshield glass. The head up display image on the
windshield glass may not be visible
when:
- Sitting posture prevents visibility.
- Wearing polarized sunglasses.
- There is an object on the cover ofthe head up display.
- Driving on a wet road.
- Lighting is turned on inside the vehicle.
- Any light comes from the outside.
- Wearing inadequate glasses for your eyesight.
If the head up display image is not shown well, adjust the height, rota-
tion or illumination of the head up
display in the Navigation touch
screen in the instrument panel.
When the head up display needs inspection or repair, consult an
authorized K900 Kia dealer.
Do not place any accessories on the dashboard or attach any
objects on the windshield glass.
✽ ✽ NOTICE
Installing window tint or any other
type of metallic coating on the wind-
shield can prevent the driver from
seeing the Head Up Display images.
✽ ✽NOTICE
When replacing the front wind-
shield glass of vehicles equipped
with the head up display, replace it
with a windshield glass designed for
the head up display operation.
Otherwise, duplicated images may
be displayed on the windshield glass.

High beam operation
To turn on the high beam headlamp,
push the lever away from you. The
lever will return to its original posi-
tion. The high beam indicator will illu-
minate when the headlight high
beams are switched on.
To prevent the battery from being
discharged, do not leave the lights
on for a prolonged time while the
engine is not running.
WARNING - High beams
Do not use high beam when
there are other vehicles in front
of your vehicle. Using high
beam could obstruct the other
driver's vision.

CAUTION
Never put anything over the light sensor (1) this willimpede operation of the auto-light system control.
Don’t clean the sensor using a window cleaner, the cleanermay leave a light film whichcould interfere with sensoroperation.
If your vehicle has window tint or other types of metallic coat-ing on the front windshield,the Auto light system may notwork properly.

  When the light from an on-
coming or front vehicle ispoor
When the light from an on- coming or front vehicle is notdetected because of lampdamage, or because it is hid-den from sight, etc.
When the lamp from an on- coming or front vehicle is cov-ered with dust, snow or water.
When a front vehicle’s head- lamps are off but the foglamps are on and etc.
  When external conditions

When there is a a lamp that has a similar shape as a vehi-cle’s lamps.

When headlamp aiming is not properly adjusted.
When driving on a narrow curved road, rough road,downhill or uphill.
When only part of the vehicle in front is visible on a cross-road or curved road.
When there is a traffic light, reflecting sign, flashing signor mirror ahead.
When there is a temporary reflector or flash ahead (con-struction area).
When the road conditions are poor, such as when wet, icy, orcovered with snow.
When a vehicle suddenly appears from a curve.
When the vehicle is tilted from a flat tire or being towed.

Turn signals and lane change
signals
The ignition switch must be on for the
turn signals to function. To turn on
the turn signals, move the lever up or
down (A). The green arrow indicators
on the instrument panel indicate
which turn signal is operating.
They will self-cancel after a turn is
completed. If the indicator continues
to flash after a turn, manually return
the lever to the OFF position.
To signal a lane change, move the
turn signal lever slightly and hold it in
position (B). The lever will return to
the OFF position when released.

Do not disassemble the front view camera for window tint-ing or installing any forms ofcoatings or accessories. Ifyou disassemble andreassemble the camera, takeyour vehicle to an authorizedK900 Kia dealer and have thesystem checked to see if a cal-ibration is needed.
When you replace or reinstall the windshield glass, or frontview camera, take your vehicleto an authorized K900 Kiadealer and have the systemchecked.
Be careful that water doesn’t get into the High Beam Assistunit and do not remove ordamage related parts of theHigh Beam Assist system.
Do not place objects on the crash pad that reflect light suchas mirrors, white paper, etc. Thesystem may not be able to func-tion if sunlight is reflected.
