A WORD ABOUT YOUR KEYS
The authorized dealer that sold you your new
vehicle has the key code numbers for your
vehicle locks. These numbers can be used to
order duplicate RKE Key Fobs. Ask your autho-
rized dealer for these numbers and keep them
in a safe place.
Ignition Key Removal
1. Place the gear selector in PARK (if equipped
with an automatic transmission).
2. Place the ignition in the ACC (Accessory)
position.3. Push the RKE Key and cylinder inward and
rotate the key to the LOCK position.
4. Remove the RKE Key from the ignition.NOTE:
If you try to remove the key before you place
the gear selector in PARK, the key may
become trapped temporarily in the ignition.
If this occurs, place the gear selector in
PARK, rotate the key clockwise slightly, and
then remove the RKE Key as described
above. If a malfunction occurs, the system
will trap the RKE Key in the ignition to warn
you that this safety feature is inoperable.
The engine can be started and stopped but
the key cannot be removed until you obtain
service.
WARNING!
•Before exiting a vehicle, always shift the
automatic transmission into PARK or the
manual transmission into FIRST gear or
REVERSE, apply the parking brake, turn
the engine OFF, remove the key fob from
the ignition and lock your vehicle.
•Never leave children alone in a vehicle, or
with access to an unlocked vehicle.

WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND
WASHERS
The windshield wiper/washer control
lever is located on the right side of the
steering column. The front wipers are
operated by rotating a switch, located
on the end of the lever. For information on the
rear wiper/washer, refer to “Rear Window Fea-
tures” in “Understanding The Features Of Your
Vehicle”.
CAUTION!
•Turn the windshield wipers off when driv-
ing through an automatic car wash. Dam-
age to the windshield wipers may result if
the wiper control is left in any position
other than off.
•In cold weather, always turn off the wiper
switch and allow the wipers to return to the
“Park” position before turning off the en-
gine. If the wiper switch is left on and the
wipers freeze to the windshield, damage to
the wiper motor may occur when the ve-
hicle is restarted.
•Always remove any buildup of snow that
prevents the windshield wiper blades from
returning to the off position. If the wind-
shield wiper control is turned off and the
blades cannot return to the off position,
damage to the wiper motor may occur.
Windshield Wiper OperationRotate the end of the lever upward to the
second detent past the intermittent settings forlow-speed wiper operation. Rotate the end of
the lever upward to the third detent past the
intermittent settings for high-speed wiper opera-
tion.
Intermittent Wiper SystemUse the intermittent wiper when weather condi-
tions make a single wiping cycle, with a variable
pause between cycles, desirable. Select the
delay interval by turning the end of the lever.
Rotate the end of the lever upward (clockwise)
to decrease the delay time and downward
(counterclockwise) to increase the delay time.

Once the audio device is connected and syn-
chronized to the vehicle’s iPod/USB/MP3 con-
trol system (iPod or external USB device may
take a few minutes to connect), the audio
device starts charging and is ready for use by
pushing radio switches, as described below.
NOTE:
If the audio device battery is completely
discharged, it may not communicate with
the iPod/USB/MP3 control system until a
minimum charge is attained. Leaving the
audio device connected to the iPod/USB/MP3 control system may charge it to the
required level.
Using This FeatureBy using an external USB device to connect to
the USB port:
•The audio device can be played on the
vehicle’s sound system, providing metadata
(artist, track title, album, etc.) information on
the radio display.
•The audio device can be controlled using the
radio buttons to Play, Browse, and List the
iPod contents.
•The audio device battery charges when
plugged into the USB/AUX connector (if sup-
ported by the specific audio device).
Controlling The iPod Or External
USB Device Using Radio Buttons
To enter the iPod/USB/MP3 control mode and
access a connected audio device, either push
the “AUX” button on the radio faceplate or push
the VR button and say"USB"or"Switch to

functions in a similar manner as the scroll wheel
on the audio device or external USB device.
•Turning it clockwise (forward) and counter-
clockwise (backward) scrolls through thelists, displaying the track detail on the radio
display. Once the track to be played is high-
lighted on the radio display, push theTUNE

scroll through the list faster. During fast
scroll, a slight delay in updating the informa-
tion on the radio display may be noticeable.
During all List modes, the iPod displays all lists
in “wrap-around” mode. So if the track is at the
bottom of the list, just turn the wheel backward
(counterclockwise) to get to the track faster.

•Before replacing a fuse, make sure that the
ignition is off and that all the other services
are switched off and/or disengaged.
•If the replaced fuse blows again, contact
an authorized dealer.
•If a general protection fuse for safety sys-
tems (air bag system, braking system),
power unit systems (engine system, gear-
box system) or steering system blows,
