The warning systems switch is used to turn
on and off the warning systems (Lane
Departure Warning (LDW) and Blind Spot
Warning (BSW) systems) that are activated
using the settings menu on the lower display.
When the warning systems switch is turned
off, the indicator
on the switch is off. The
indicator will also be off if all of the warning
systems are deactivated using the settings
menu.
The LDW system will sound a warning chime
and blink the Lane Departure Warning
(LDW) indicator will appear to alert the
driver if the vehicle is traveling close to
either the left or the right of a traveling lane
with detectable lane markers. (See “Lane Departure Warning (LDW)/Lane Departure
Prevention (LDP)” (P.5-22).)
The BSW system will turn on the side
indicator lights, located next to the outside
mirrors, if the radar sensors detect a vehicle
in the detection zone. If the turn signal is
activated in the direction of the detected
vehicle, a chime sounds twice and the side
indicator light will flash. (See “Blind Spot
Warning (BSW)” (P.5-31).)

For driving or starting the vehicle on snowy
roads or slippery areas, push on the SNOW
mode switch. The SNOW mode indicator will
illuminate. When the SNOW mode is acti-
vated, engine output is controlled to avoid
wheel spin.
Push off the SNOW mode for normal
driving.

TOW mode should be used when pulling a
heavy trailer or hauling a heavy load. Driving
the vehicle in TOW mode with no trailer/
load or light trailer/light load will not cause
any damage. However, fuel economy may be
reduced, and the transmission/engine driv-
ing characteristics may feel unusual.
Push the TOW mode switch to activate
TOW mode. The indicator light in the vehicle
information display illuminates when TOW
mode is selected. Push the TOW mode
switch again to turn TOW mode off.
TOW mode is automatically canceled when
the ignition switch is placed in the OFF
position.

The vehicle should be driven with the Vehicle
Dynamic Control (VDC) system on for most
driving conditions.
If the vehicle is stuck in mud or snow, the
VDC system reduces the engine output to
reduce wheel spin. The engine speed will be
reduced even if the accelerator is depressed
to the floor. If maximum engine power is
needed to free a stuck vehicle, turn the VDC
system off.
To turn off the VDC system, push the VDC
OFF switch. The
indicator will illumi-
nate.
Push the VDC OFF switch again or restart
the engine to turn on the system. (See
“Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system” (P.5-124).)

TURNING THE REAR DOOR
ALERT SYSTEM ON/OFF
To turn on the rear door alert system, push
the rear door alert switch. The rear door
alert switch indicator lightwill illuminate.
To turn off the system, push the rear door
alert switch again. The rear door alert switch
indicator light will go off.
When the system is turned ON:
. The system is activated when a rear door
is opened and closed within 10 minutes
of the vehicle being driven. For additional
information, refer to “System operation”
(P.2-53).
. If a rear door is opened and closed but
the vehicle is not driven within approxi-
mately 10 minutes, the system will not
be activated. A rear door must be opened
and closed and the vehicle driven within
10 minutes for the system to be acti-
vated.
NOTE:
. When turning on or off the system, the
system will retain current settings even
if the engine is restarted.
. If the battery terminal is disconnected
and connected after the system is
turned on, the system will be turned
off and initialized. To use the rear door
alert system after the battery terminal is disconnected and connected for servi-
cing by the customer or an INFINITI
retailer, push the rear door alert switch
to turn on the system.SYSTEM OPERATION
When the rear door alert system is activated
and the driver exits the vehicle after arriving
at a destination:
.
When the driver places the vehicle in the
P (Park) position, a message appears in
the vehicle information display for a
driver to select “Dismiss” or “Disable
Alert” if desired.
. With the system enabled, when the driver
exits the vehicle, an audible alert (horn
sound) will occur unless a rear door is
opened and closed within a short time to
deactivate the alert.
. If the doors are locked before the alert is
deactivated by opening a rear door, the
horn will sound.
. If the system is activated but the liftgate
is opened before opening a rear door, the
audible horn alert will be delayed until
after the liftgate is closed.
. If the audible horn alert occurs, a mes-
sage will also appear in the vehicle
information display that states, “Check
Rear Seat for all articles”.

HOW TO TEMPORARILY DIS-
ABLE THE REAR DOOR ALERT
SYSTEM
Perform the following operations to tem-
porarily disable the rear door alert system.
When the driver places the vehicle in the P
(Park) position, a message appears in the
vehicle information display for a driver to
select “Dismiss” or “Disable Alert” if desired.
. Using
switch, a driver can select
“Dismiss” to clear the display for a period
of time. If no selection is made, this
message automatically turns off after a
period of time.

.Usingswitch, a driver can select
“Disable Alert” to disable the horn alert
for the remainder of the current trip.
WARNING
. There may be times when there is an
object or passenger in the rear seat(s)
but the audible alert does not sound.
For example, this may occur if rear
seat passengers enter or exit the
vehicle during a trip.
. The system does not directly detect
objects or passengers in the rear seat
(s). Instead, it can detect when a rear
door is opened and closed, indicating
that there may be something in the
rear seat(s).
NOTE:
There may be times when the horn sounds
but there are no objects or passengers in the
rear seat(s).
CAUTION
. Use power outlet with the engine
running to avoid discharging the
vehicle battery.
. Avoid using power outlet when the
air conditioner, headlights or rear
window defroster is on.
. Before inserting or disconnecting a
plug, be sure the electrical accessory
being used is turned OFF.
. When not in use, be sure to close the
cap. Do not allow water or any liquid
to contact the outlet.

Pull up the cover and plug in.
After using the power outlet, be sure to turn
off the main switch.
CAUTION
. Do not use with accessories that
exceed a 120 volt, 150W (1.25A)
power draw.
. Use this power outlet with the engine
running. (If the engine is stopped, this
could result in a discharged battery.)

USB (Universal Serial Bus) CHAR-
GING CONNECTOR
The USB connectorcan be used only for
charging an external device.
Open the cover to access the USB connec-
tor.
Connect a USB device into the connector.
Charging will start automatically (maximum
output up to 5 volt, 12W, 2.4A).
The external device will be charged continu-
ously while the ignition switch is in the ACC
or ON position.
Some mobile devices cannot be charged
depending on their specifications.
CAUTION
. Do not force a USB device into the
connector. Inserting the USB device
tilted or up-side-down into the con-
nector may damage the connector.
Make sure that the USB device is
connected correctly into the connec-
tor.
. Do not use a reversible USB cable.
Using the reversible USB cable may
damage the connector.
. Do not grab the USB connector cover
when pulling the USB device out of
the connector. This could damage the
connector and the cover.

Auto reverse function
WARNING
There are some small distances immedi-
ately before the closed position which
cannot be detected. Make sure that all
passengers have their hands, etc., inside
the vehicle before closing the window.
If the control unit detects something caught
in the window as it is closing, the window
will be immediately lowered.
The auto reverse function can be activated
when the window is closed by automatic
operation when the ignition switch is in the
ON position or for 45 seconds after the
ignition switch is pushed to the OFF posi-
tion.
Depending on the environment or driving
conditions, the auto reverse function may
be activated if an impact or load similar to
something being caught in the window
occurs.
If the windows do not close auto-
matically
If the power window automatic function
(closing only) does not operate properly,
perform the following procedure to initialize the power window system.
1. Push the ignition switch to start the
engine.
2. Close the door.
3. After starting the engine, open the window completely by operating the
power window switch.
4. Pull the power window switch and hold it to close the window, and then hold the
switch more than 3 seconds after the
window is closed completely.
5. Release the power window switch. Op- erate the window by the automatic
function to confirm the initialization is
complete.
6. Perform steps 2 through 5 above for other windows.
If the power window automatic function
does not operate properly after performing
the procedure above, have your vehicle
checked. It is recommended you visit an
INFINITI retailer for this service.
WARNING
. In an accident you could be thrown
from the vehicle through an open
moonroof. Always use seat belts
and child restraints.
. Do not allow anyone to stand up or
extend any portion of their body out
of the moonroof opening while the
vehicle is in motion or while the
moonroof is closing.
CAUTION
.Remove water drops, snow, ice or
sand from the moonroof before
opening.
. Do not place any heavy object on the
moonroof or surrounding area.
MOONROOF

CAUTION
.Turn off the lights when you leave
the vehicle.
. Do not use the lights for extended
periods of time with the engine
stopped. This could result in a dis-
charged battery.

INTERIOR LIGHT SWITCH
ON switch
When the ON switchis pushed in, the map
lights and rear personal lights will illuminate.
DOOR OFF switch
When the switchis not pushed in, the map
lights and rear personal lights will illuminate
for a period of time under the following
conditions:
. when the ignition switch is placed in the
OFF position.
. when doors are unlocked by pushing the
UNLOCK
button on the Intelligent
Key or door handle request switch with the ignition switch in the OFF position.
. when any door is opened and then closed
with the ignition switch in the OFF
position.
. when any door is opened with the
ignition switch in the ACC or ON posi-
tion.
— The lights will remain on while the
door is opened. When the door is
closed, the lights will turn off.
When the “Lamp ON when Door Unlocks”
key is set to the OFF position (see INFINITI
InTouch
TMOwner’s Manual), the lights will
illuminate under the following condition:
. any door is opened with the ignition
switch in any position
— remain on while the door is opened. When the door is closed, the lights go
off.
When the switch
is pushed in, the map
lights and rear personal lights will not
illuminate under the above condition.

matically stop and reverse, does not
meet current federal safety stan-
dards. Using a garage door opener
without these features increases the
risk of serious injury or death.
. During the programming procedure
your garage door or security gate will
open and close (if the transmitter is
within range). Make sure that people
or objects are clear of the garage
door, gate, etc. that you are pro-
gramming.
. Your vehicle’s engine should be
turned off while programming the
HomeLink
®Universal Transceiver.
Do not breathe exhaust gases; they
contain colorless and odorless carbon
monoxide. Carbon monoxide is dan-
gerous. It can cause unconsciousness
or death.

The following steps show generic instruc-
tions how to program a HomeLink®button.
If you have any questions or are having
difficulty programming your HomeLink
®
buttons, refer to the HomeLink®web site

NOTE:
It is also recommended that a new battery
be placed in the hand-held transmitter of
the device being programmed to
HomeLink
®for quicker programming and
accurate transmission of the radio-fre-
quency.
1. Position the end of your hand-held transmitter 1-3 in (26-76 mm) away
from the HomeLink
®surface, keeping
the HomeLink®indicator lightin view.

2. Using both hands, simultaneously press
and hold the desired HomeLink®button
and handheld transmitter button. DO
NOT release until the HomeLink
®indi-
cator lightflashes slowly and then
rapidly. When the indicator light flashes
rapidly, both buttons may be released.
(The rapid flashing indicates successful
programming.)
NOTE:
Some devices to be programmed may
require you to replace Step 2 with the
cycling procedure noted in the “Pro-
gramming HomeLink
®for Canadian cus-
tomers and gate openers” (P.2-73).
