2. Disconnect the glove box doordamper (1) from the glove box
door assembly by squeezing
the pivot (2) to release the
damper ring.3. Squeeze both sides of theglove box bin inward to lower
beyond the stops.
4. Remove the two screwssecuring the door.
5. Press the latches on either side of the service door inward to
release. Open the service door
and remove the old filter.
6. Install the new air filter.
7. Close the service door completely.
8. Reverse the steps to reinstall the glove box.

assistance is needed.
Service
All vehicles have a label underhood
that identifies the refrigerant used in
the vehicle. The refrigerant system
should only be serviced by trained
and certified technicians. The air
conditioning evaporator should
never be repaired or replaced by
one from a salvage vehicle.
It should only be replaced by a new
evaporator to ensure proper and
safe operation.

3. Lift the hood and release thehood prop rod from its retainer
in the front of the engine
compartment. Securely insert
the rod end into the slot
marked with an arrow, on the
underside of the hood.
To close the hood: 1. Before closing the hood, be sure all filler caps are on
properly, and all tools are
removed. 2. Lift the hood and remove the
hood prop rod from the
underside of the hood. Return
the prop rod to its retainer. The
prop rod must click into place
when returning it to the retainer
to prevent hood damage.
3. Lower the hood 20 cm (8 in) above the vehicle and release
it. Check to make sure the
hood is latched completely.
Repeat this process with
additional force if necessary.
{Warning
Do not drive the vehicle if the
hood is not latched completely.
The hood could open fully, block
your vision, and cause a crash.
You or others could be injured.
Always close the hood completely
before driving.

Dolly Towing
(Front-Wheel-Drive Vehicles)
Tow the vehicle with the two rear
wheels on the ground and the front
wheels on a dolly.
To tow the vehicle from the front
with the rear wheels on the ground:1. Put the front wheels on the dolly.
2. Shift the transmission to P (Park). See Shifting Into Park
0 187.
3. Set the parking brake.
4. Secure the vehicle to the dolly. 5. Follow the dolly manufacturer's
instructions for preparing the
vehicle and dolly for towing.
6. Open the driver door and leave it open.
7. Shift to N (Neutral).
8. Ensure the parking brake is released.
9. Turn off the vehicle and release the brake pedal.
10. The vehicle should continue to be in N (Neutral). If it is not,
restart the engine and repeat
Steps 6-8.
11. Release the hood.
12. Lock the vehicle doors, with the driver door still open.
13. Exit the vehicle with the RKE transmitter.
14. Open the hood.
15. Disconnect the negative (–) terminal connector from the
12-volt battery.
16. Close and latch the hood.
17. Close the driver door.
Caution
If 105 km/h (65 mph) is exceeded
while towing the vehicle, it could
be damaged. Never exceed
105 km/h (65 mph) while towing
the vehicle.

Exhaust Fluid Certification Mark.
Engine Coolant 50/50 mixture of clean, drinkable water and use only DEX-COOL Coolant.

Engine Oil (Diesel) Engine oil meeting the dexos2 specification of the proper SAE viscosity
grade. ACDelco dexos2 is recommended. See Engine Oil0283.

Hood and Door Hinges, and Key Lock Cylinders Multi-Purpose Lubricant, Superlube (GM Part No. 12346241, in
Canada 10953474).
Hood Latch Assembly, Secondary Latch, Pivots, Spring Anchor, and
Release Pawl Lubriplate Lubricant Aerosol (GM Part No. 89021668, in
Canada 89021674) or lubricant meeting requirements of NLGI #2,
Category LB or GC-LB.
Hydraulic Brake System DOT 3 Hydraulic Brake Fluid (GM Part No. 19353126, in Canada 19353127).
Transfer Case (All-Wheel Drive) Transfer Case Fluid (GM Part No. 19351882, in Canada 19351883).
