dark outside. Be sure to keep the
HUD image dim and placed low in
your field of view.
If equipped with HUD, some
information concerning the
operation of the vehicle is projected
onto the windshield. The information
is projected through the HUD lens
on the driver side of the instrument
panel and focused out toward the
front of the vehicle.
Caution
If you try to use the HUD image
as a parking aid, you may
misjudge the distance and
damage your vehicle. Do not use
the HUD image as a parking aid.
The HUD information can be
displayed in various languages. The
speedometer reading and other
numerical values can be displayed
in either English or metric units. The language selection is changed
through the radio and the units of
measurement is changed through
the instrument cluster. See
“Settings”
in the Infotainment
Manual and “Options”under
Instrument Cluster 0107.
HUD Display on the Windshield
The HUD may display some of the
following vehicle information and
vehicle messages or alerts:
. Speed
. Audio
. Phone
. Navigation .
Performance
. Driver Assistance Features
. Vehicle Messages
Some vehicle messages or alerts
displayed in the HUD may be
cleared by using the steering wheel
controls. See Vehicle Messages
0 137.
The HUD control is to the left of the
steering wheel.
To adjust the HUD image:
1. Adjust the driver seat.
2. Start the engine.
3. Use the following settings to adjust the HUD.
$:Press or lift to center the HUD
image. The HUD image can only be
adjusted up and down, not side
to side.

!:Press to select the display
view. Each press will change the
display view.
D: Lift and hold to brighten the
display. Press and hold to dim the
display. Continue to hold to turn the
display off.
The HUD image will automatically
dim and brighten to compensate for
outside lighting. The HUD
brightness control can also be
adjusted as needed.
The HUD image can temporarily
light up depending on the angle and
position of sunlight on the HUD
display. This is normal.
Polarized sunglasses could make
the HUD image harder to see.
Head-Up Display (HUD) Rotation
Option
If equipped, this feature allows the
angle of the HUD image to be
adjusted. Press
Von the steering wheel
controls while Head-up Display
Rotation is highlighted to enter
Adjust Mode. Press
yorzto
adjust the angle of the HUD display.
Press
SorTto highlight OK, then
press
Vto save the setting.
CANCEL can also be selected to
cancel the setting. The vehicle must
be in P (Park).
HUD Views
There are four views in the HUD.
Some vehicle information and
vehicle messages or alerts may be
displayed in any view.

English
Speed View : This displays digital
speed in English or metric units,
speed limit, vehicle ahead indicator,
Lane Departure Warning/Lane Keep
Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control
and set speed. Some information
only appears on vehicles that have
these features, and when they are
active.

Audio/Phone View : This displays
digital speed, indicators from speed
view along with audio/phone
information. The current radio
station, media type, and incoming
calls will be displayed.
All HUD views may briefly display
audio information when the steering
wheel controls are used to adjust
the audio settings appearing in the
instrument cluster.
Incoming phone calls may display in
any HUD view.Metric

Navigation View : This displays
digital speed, indicators from speed
view along with Turn-by-Turn
Navigation information in some
vehicles. The compass heading is
displayed when navigation routing is
not active.
Navigation Turn-by-Turn Alerts
shown in the instrument cluster may
also be displayed in any HUD view.

Performance View : This displays
digital speed, indicators from speed
view along with rpm reading,
transmission positions, and gear
shift indicator (if equipped).
Care of the HUD
Clean the inside of the windshield
as needed to remove any dirt or film
that could reduce the sharpness or
clarity of the HUD image.
Clean the HUD lens with a soft cloth
sprayed with glass cleaner. Wipe
the lens gently, then dry it.

Touch and the following may

This feature automatically recalls
the previously stored 1 or 2 button
positions when the ignition is
changed from off to on or ACC/
ACCESSORY. See Memory Seats

This feature automatically moves
the driver seat rearward when
exiting the vehicle. See Memory
Seats 045.

Teen Driver
See “Teen Driver” under“Settings”
in the infotainment manual.
Valet Mode
This will lock the infotainment
system and steering wheel controls.
It may also limit access to vehicle
storage locations, if equipped.
To enable valet mode:
1. Enter a four-digit code on the keypad.
2. Select Enter to go to the confirmation screen.
3. Re-enter the four-digit code.
Touch Lock or Unlock to lock or
unlock the system. Touch Back to
go back to the previous menu.
Universal Remote
System

Universal Remote System
Programming
If equipped, these buttons are in the
overhead console.
This system can replace up to three
remote control transmitters used to
activate devices such as garage
door openers, security systems, and
home automation devices. These

There is a light sensor on top of the
instrument panel. Do not cover the
sensor; otherwise the headlamps
will come on when they are not
needed.
The system may also turn on the
headlamps when driving through a
parking garage or tunnel.
When it is bright enough outside,
the headlamps will turn off or may
change to Daytime Running
Lamps (DRL).
The automatic headlamp system
turns off when the exterior lamp
control is turned to
Oor the ignition
is off.
Adaptive Forward
Lighting (AFL)
If equipped, the AFL pivots the
headlamps horizontally to provide
greater road illumination while
turning. To enable AFL, set the
exterior lamp control to the AUTO
position. Moving the switch out of
the AUTO position deactivates the
system. AFL operates when the
vehicle speed is greater than 3 km/h
(2 mph). AFL does not operate
when the transmission is in
R (Reverse). AFL is not immediately
operable after starting the vehicle;
driving a short distance is required
to calibrate the AFL. See Exterior
Lamp Controls 0147.
LED Headlamp System
This system automatically controls
the LED headlamps light intensity
and distribution based on the
lighting condition, road type, and
driving situation. The vehicle adapts
the headlamps automatically to
enable optimal lighting while driving.
The Intelligent Light Distribution
feature can be enabled or disabled. See
“Adaptive Forward Lighting”
under Vehicle Personalization
0 138.
The following lighting functions are
available when the exterior lamp
control is in the AUTO or

position.
Curve Lighting
Certain LEDs turn on automatically
to improve lighting in curves. This is
based on the steering wheel
position and vehicle speeds from
40 km/h (25 mph) to 70 km/h
(43 mph).
Corner Lighting
If equipped with cornering lamps,
certain LEDs automatically come on
when all of the following occur:
. The turn signals are activated or
the steering wheel is at a
calibrated angle.
. The vehicle is traveling up to a
speed of 40 km/h (25 mph).

Hazard Warning Flashers
|:Press to make the front and
rear turn signal lamps flash on and
off. Press again to turn the
flashers off.
The hazard warning flashers turn on
automatically if the airbags deploy.
Turn and Lane-Change
Signals
Move the lever all the way up or
down to signal a turn.
An arrow on the instrument cluster
flashes in the direction of the turn or
lane change.
Raise or lower the lever until the
arrow starts to flash to signal a lane
change. Hold it there until the lane
change is completed. If the lever is
briefly pressed and released, the
turn signal flashes three times.
The turn and lane-change signal
can be turned off manually by
moving the lever back to its original
position. If after signaling a turn or lane
change the arrow flashes rapidly or
does not come on, a signal bulb
might be burned out.
Have any burned out bulbs
replaced. If the bulb is not burned
out, check the fuse. See
Fuses and
Circuit Breakers 0259.
Fog Lamps
The fog lamps button is on the
instrument panel to left of the
steering wheel.
To turn on the fog lamps, the ignition
and the headlamps or parking lamps
must be on.

If the fog lamps are turned on while
the exterior lamp control is in the
AUTO position, the headlamps
come on automatically.
9:Press to turn on or off. An
indicator light on the instrument
cluster comes on when the fog
lamps are on.
Some localities have laws that
require the headlamps to be on
along with the fog lamps.
Interior Lighting
Instrument Panel
Illumination Control
The brightness of the instrument
cluster display, infotainment display
and controls, steering wheel
controls, and all other illuminated
controls, as well as feature status
indicators can be adjusted.
The knob for this feature is on the
instrument panel beside the steering
column.
Press to extend the knob, then turn
it clockwise or counterclockwise to
brighten or dim the lights.
Dome Lamps
The dome lamp controls are in the
overhead console.
To operate, press the following
buttons:
jOFF : Press to turn off the
dome lamps when a door is open.
An indicator light on the button will
turn on when the dome lamp
override is activated. Press
j
OFF again to deactivate this feature
and the indicator light will turn off.
The dome lamps will come on when
doors are opened.
