How to Handle Overheating
Overheating symptoms are as follows: •The temperature gauge pointer is at the mark or the engine suddenly loses
power.
• Steam or spray comes out of the engine compartment.
■ First thing to do
1. Immediately park the vehicle in a safe place.
uPut the transmission into (P and set the parking brake.
2. Turn off all accessories and turn on the hazard warning lights.
uNo steam or spray present : Keep the power system on and open the hatch.
uSteam or spray is present: Turn off the power system and wait until it
subsides. Then open the hatch.

If the Brake System Indicator (Red) Comes On
■Reasons for the indicator to come on
• The brake fluid is low.
• There is a malfunction in the brake system.
■ What to do when the indicator comes on while driving
Depress the brake pedal lightly to check pedal pressure. • If normal, check the brake fluid level the next time you stop.
• If abnormal, take immediate acti on. If necessary, downshift the
transmission to slow the vehicle using regenerative braking.
If the Electric Power Steeri ng (EPS) System Indicator
Comes On
■Reasons for the indicator to come on
Comes on if there is a problem with the EPS system.
■ What to do when th e indicator comes on
Stop the vehicle in a safe place a nd turn on the power system again.
If the indicator comes on and stays on, immediately have your vehicle
inspected by an author ized Acura NSX dealer.
1If the Brake System Indicator (Red) Comes On
Have your vehicle repaired immediately.
It is dangerous to drive with low brake fluid. If there
is no resistance from the brake pedal, stop
immediately in a safe plac e. If necessary, downshift
the gears.
If the brake system indicator and ABS indicator come
on simultaneously, the elec tronic brake distribution
system is not working. Th is can result in vehicle
instability under sudden braking.
Have your vehicle inspecte d by an authorized Acura
NSX dealer immediately.
If both red and amber brake system indicators come
on, stop the vehicle in a safe place and have it
inspected by an authorized Acura NSX dealer

Avoid using the parking brake and immediately get your vehicle
inspected at an author ized Acura NSX dealer.
■ What to do when the electric pa rking brake indicator comes on
or blinks at the same time.

• If the electric parking brake indicator remains on or blinks even after
releasing the parking brake, immedi ately stop the vehicle in a safe
place, and call an authorized Acura NSX dealer.
uTo prevent your vehicle from moving unexpectedly, put the
transmission into

• If only the electric parking brake in dicator goes off, immediately get
your vehicle inspected at an authorized Acura NSX dealer.

If you apply the parking brake, it may not release.
If the electric parking brake indicator turns on, the
parking brake is still applied.
When the electric parking br ake indicator blinks at
the same time as the electric parking brake system
indicator, the system must be checked. The parking brake may not operate under these conditions.

The transmission is malfunctioning.
■ What to do when the indicator blinks
• Immediately have your vehicle insp ected by an authorized Acura NSX

Appears when the engine oil level is low.
■ What to do as soon as the symbol appears
1. Immediately park the vehicle on level ground in a safe place.
2. If necessary, turn the ha zard warning lights on.

You may not be able to turn on the power system.
Make sure to set the parking brake when parking
your vehicle.
Call a professional towing service if you need to tow
your vehicle.

1If the Low Oil Level Symbol Appears
NOTICE
Running the engine with a low oil level can cause
serious mechanical damage almost immediately.
This system activates after the engine warms up. If
the outside temperature is extremely low, you may have to drive for a long time until the system senses
the engine oil level.
If the symbol appears agai n, turn the power system
off, and contact an author ized Acura NSX dealer for
repairs immediately.

Fuse Locations
If any electrical device
s are not working, set
the power mode to VEHICLE OFF, and check
to see if any applic able fuse is blown.
There are two fuse boxes under the hood.
Fuse locations are shown on the fuse box
cover. Locate the fuse in question by the

allow, let the vehicle coast for several se conds without using the accelerator pedal
