between on and off each time is pressed.
● LDA (Lane Departure Alert) (P. 310)*1
Select to set up the alert sensitivity.
● RSA (Road Sign Assist) (P. 322)*1
Select to set up the following items.
• Notification method (excess speed/other warnings)
Select to change the notification method of the following warnings to no
notification/display only/display and buzzer.
Excess speed warning:
Warns the driver if the vehicle exceeds the speed displayed on the
speed limit sign on the multi-information display.
Other warnings:
Warns the driver if the system determines that the vehicle is overtaking
when a no overtaking sign is displayed on the multi-information display.
• Excess speed notification level
Select to set the speed threshold over which the excess speed warning
starts to operate when a speed limit sign is displayed on the multi-infor-
mation display.
● Clock
Adjusts the hour and minute, and switches between 12-hour and
24-hour display of the clock. ( P. 131)

The Toyota Safety Sense consists of the following drive assist
systems and contributes to a safe and comfortable driving expe-
rience:
WARNING
■ Toyota Safety Sense
The Toyota Safety Sense is designed to operate under the assumption that
the driver will drive safely, and is designed to help reduce the impact to the
occupants and the vehicle in the case of a collision or assist the driver in
normal driving conditions.
As there is a limit to the degree of recognition accuracy and control perfor-
mance that this system can provide, do not overly rely on this system. The
driver is always responsible for paying attention to the vehicle’s surround-
ings and driving safely.

WARNING
■The ABS does not operate effectively when
● The limits of tire gripping performance have been exceeded (such as
excessively worn tires on a snow covered road).
● The vehicle hydroplanes while driving at high speed on wet or slick roads.
■ Stopping distance when the ABS is operating may exceed that of nor-
mal conditions
The ABS is not designed to shorten t he vehicle’s stopping distance. Always
maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you, especially in the
following situations:
● When driving on dirt, gravel or snow-covered roads
● When driving with tire chains
● When driving over bumps in the road
● When driving over roads with potholes or uneven surfaces
■ TRC/VSC may not operate effectively when
Directional control and power may not be achievable while driving on slip-
pery road surfaces, even if the TRC/VSC system is operating.
Drive the vehicle carefully in conditions where stability and power may be
lost.
■ Hill-start assist control does not operate effectively when
● Do not overly rely on hill-start assist control. Hill-start assist control may
not operate effectively on steep inclines and roads covered with ice.
● Unlike the parking brake, hill-start assist control is not intended to hold the
vehicle stationary for an extended period of time. Do not attempt to use
hill-start assist control to hold the vehicle on an incline, as doing so may
lead to an accident.

■If “Front camera unavailable.” or “Front camera vision
blocked. Clean and demist windshield.” is displayed.
The following systems may be suspended until the problem shown
in the message is resolved.

●Automatic High Beam*
●RSA (Road Sign Assist)*

■Engine oil change reminder message comes on (diesel engine)
Replace the engine oil filter when the engine oil change reminder
message does not come on even if you have driven over 40000 km
(25000 miles) after the engine oil was changed.
There is a possibility that the “Oil maintenance required.” message
has been displayed when you have driven less than 40000 km
(25000 miles) based on a usage or driving condition.

NOTICE
■If the fuel filter warning message comes on (diesel engine)
Never drive the vehicle with the warning message is shown. Continued driv-
ing with water accumulated in the fuel filter will damage the fuel injection
pump.

WARNING
■When using the full-size spare tire (if equipped)
● On vehicles with a tire pressure warning system: Replace the full-size
spare tire with a standard tire as soon as possible.
● Avoid sudden acceleration, abrupt steering, sudden braking and shifting
operations that cause sudden engine braking.
■ When using the compact spare tire (if equipped)
● Remember that the compact spare tire provided is specifically designed
for use with your vehicle. Do not use your compact spare tire on another
vehicle.
● Do not use more than one compact spare tire simultaneously.
● Replace the compact spare tire with a standard tire as soon as possible.
● Avoid sudden acceleration, abrupt steering, sudden braking and shifting
operations that cause sudden engine braking.
■ When storing the spare tire (if equipped)
Be careful not to catch fingers or other body parts between the spare tire
and the body of the vehicle.
■ After using the tools and jack
Before driving, make sure all the tools and jack are securely in place in their
storage location to reduce the possibility of personal injury during a collision
or sudden braking.
■ When the compact spare tire is attached (if equipped)
The vehicle speed may not be correctly detected, and the following systems
may not operate correctly:
■ Speed limit when using the compact spare tire (if equipped)
Do not drive at speeds in excess of 80 km/h (50 mph) when a compact
spare tire is installed on the vehicle.
The compact spare tire is not designed for driving at high speeds. Failure to
observe this precaution may lead to an accident causing death or serious
injury.
