WARNING
■When replacing the 12-volt battery 
Use a 12-volt battery designed for this vehicle. Failure to do so may cause 
gas (hydrogen) to enter the passenger compartment, causing a fire or 
explosion. 
For replacement of the 12-volt battery, contact any authorized Toyota 
retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer. 
■ When disconnecting the 12-volt battery
NOTICE
■When recharging the 12-volt battery 
Never recharge the 12-volt battery while the hybrid system is operating. 
Also, be sure all accessories are turned off.
Do not disconnect the negative (-) termi-
nal on the body side as shown. The dis-
connected negative (-) terminal may 
touch the positive (+) terminal, which 
may cause a short and result in death or
serious injury.

When trouble arises
(If equipped)
Indicates that the PCS (Pre-Crash Safety sys- 
tem) is temporarily unavailable 
 When conditions improve, the system 
resumes operation. If this item is displayed 
continuously, have the vehicle inspected 
by any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota
authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer.
(If equipped)
Indicates that the PCS (Pre-Crash Safety sys- 
tem) is temporarily unavailable 
 When conditions improve, the system 
resumes operation. If this item is displayed 
continuously, have the vehicle inspected 
by any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota

Indicates that part of the PCS (Pre-Crash Safety
system) sensor is dirty, covered with ice, etc. 
 Remove any dirt, ice, etc.
Hybrid battery (traction battery) inspection or 
replacement time. 
 Have the hybrid battery (traction battery) 
inspected by any authorized Toyota retailer
or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reli- 
able repairer immediately.
Hybrid system restarting will soon be disabled. 
 If you continue to use the vehicle in this 
state, you will soon become unable to 
restart the hybrid system. Have the hybrid
battery (traction battery) inspected by any 
authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota autho- 
rized repairer, or any reliable repairer
immediately.
Indicates that restarting of the hybrid system is 
not possible. 
 Contact any authorized Toyota retailer or 
Toyota authorized repairer, or any reliable 
repairer immediately.
