Die Airbag-Abdeckungen öffnen sich und
bleiben beim Auslösen des Fahrer- und Bei- fahrerairbags am Lenkrad bzw. der Instru-

Das Frontairbag-System bietet in Ergänzung
zu den Sicherheitsgurten einen zusätzlichen
Schutz für den Kopf- und Brustbereich des
Fahrers und des Beifahrers bei Frontalkollisio-
nen mit höherer Unfallschwere ››› .
Ihr e besonder

kontrollierten Gasausgang, indem der Insas-
se Druck auf den Sack ausübt. So bleiben
Kopf und Torax durch den Airbag geschützt.
Nach einem Unfall leert sich der Sack demzu-
folge so weit, dass die Sicht nach vorne wie-

Die Einbauorte sind jeweils durch den Schrift-
zug „AIRBAG“ im oberen Bereich der Rücken-
lehnen gekennzeichnet. Das Seitenairbag-System bietet in Ergänzung
zu den Sicherheitsgurten einen zusätzlichen

Seitenairbags das Verletzungsrisiko für die
Partien des Körpers, die direkt vom Aufprall
betroffen sind. Neben des normalen Schutzes
der Sicherheitsgurte werden die Insassen
auch bei einem Seitenaufprall festgehalten;
auf diese Weise entfalten diese Airbags ihre
