Definitions
Anti-lock braking system (ABS)
and electronic brake force
distribution (EBFD)
These systems improve the stability and
manoeuvrability of your vehicle when braking
and contribute towards improved control in
corners, in particular on poor or slippery road
surfaces.
The ABS prevents wheel lock in the event of
emergency braking.
The electronic brake force distribution system
manages the braking pressure wheel by wheel.
Emergency braking assistance
(EBA)
In an emergency, this system enables you to
reach the optimum braking pressure more
quickly and therefore reduce the stopping
distance.
It is triggered in relation to the speed at which
the brake pedal is pressed. This is felt by a
reduction in the resistance of the pedal and an
increase in braking efficiency.
Anti-slip regulation (ASR)
This system optimises traction in order to
avoid wheel slip by acting on the brakes of
the driving wheels and on the engine. It also
improves the directional stability of the vehicle
on acceleration.
Dynamic stability control (DSC)
If there is a difference between the path
followed by the vehicle and that required by the
driver, this system monitors each wheel and
automatically acts on the brake of one or more
wheels and on the engine to return the vehicle
to the required path, within the limits of the laws
of physics.
Trailer stability assist (TSA)
This system allows control of the vehicle to be
retained when towing a trailer, so as to avoid
the risk of snaking.
Anti-lock braking system
(ABS) and electronic brake
force distribution (EBFD)
The fixed illumination of this warning
lamp signals that there is a fault with
the ABS.Illumination of this warning lamp,
coupled with the STOP
and ABS
warning lamps, accompanied by
the display of a message and an
audible signal, signals that there is a
fault with the electronic brake force
distribution (EBFD).
Normal operation of the ABS may make
itself felt by slight vibrations of the brake
pedal.
When braking in an emergency, press
very firmly and maintain this pressure.
When changing wheels (tyres and rims),
ensure that these are approved for your
vehicle.
After an impact, have these systems
checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a
qualified workshop.
The vehicle retains conventional braking. Drive
carefully at moderate speed.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified
workshop as soon as possible.
You must stop as soon as it is safe to do so.
Call a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified
workshop.

until its indicator lights up to
select the system; this indicator
lamp appears in green in the
instrument panel.

hen the vehicle begins its descent, you
can release the accelerator and brake
pedals; the system regulates the speed:
The system becomes active at a speed below
18
mph (30 km/h).

f the gearbox is in first or second
gear, the speed decreases and
the warning lamp flashes rapidly,
-
i
f the gearbox is in neutral or if
the clutch pedal is depressed,
the speed decreases and the
warning lamp flashes slowly;
in this case, the maintained
descent speed is lower. During a descent, with the vehicle stationary, if
you release the accelerator and brake pedals,
the system will release the brakes to set the
vehicle gradually in motion.
The brake lamps light up automatically when
the system is regulating.
If the speed exceeds 18
mph (30 km/h),
regulation is paused automatically, the warning
lamp goes back to grey in the instrument panel,
but the indicator lamp in the button remains lit.
Regulation resumes automatically when the
speed falls below 18
mph (30 km/h) again, and
the slope and pedal release conditions are met.
You can depress the accelerator or brake pedal
again at any time.
Switching off
F Press this button until its indicator lamp goes off; the indicator lamp also goes off in
the instrument panel.
Above 43
mph (70 km/h), the system is
automatically deactivated; the indicator lamp in
the button goes off.
Malfunction
If a fault occurs with the system,
this warning lamp comes on,
accompanied by the display of a
message in the instrument panel.
Seat belts
Front seat belts
The front seat belts are fitted with a pyrotechnic
pretensioning and force limiting system.
This system improves safety in the front
seats in the event of a front or side impact.
Depending on the severity of the impact, the
pretensioning system instantly tightens the seat
belts against the body of the occupants.
The pretensioning seat belts are active when
the ignition is on.
The force limiter reduces the pressure of the
seat belt on the chest of the occupant, thus
improving their protection. Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a
qualified workshop.

Do not leave the vehicle while it is being
held temporarily by hill start assist.
If you need to leave the vehicle with the
engine running, apply the parking brake
manually then ensure that the parking
brake warning lamp lights up fixed on the
instrument panel.
Malfunction
- certain slope conditions are met,
- t he driver’s door is closed.
Uphill , with the vehicle stationary, the vehicle
is held for a short time when you release the
brake pedal.
With a manual gearbox , if you are in first gear
or in neutral.
With an automatic gearbox , if you are in
position D or M . Downhill
, with the vehicle stationary and
reverse gear engaged, the vehicle is held for a
short time when you release the brake pedal.
If a fault in the system occurs, these warning
lamps come on.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified
workshop to have the system checked.5-speed manual gearbox
Engaging reverse gear
Only engage reverse gear when the vehicle
is stationary with the engine at idle.
As a safety precaution and to facilitate
starting of the engine:

place the gear lever in neutral.

With a manual gearbox
With the speed of the vehicle between 20 and

buttons 2 or 3 : the current speed of your
vehicle becomes the cruise speed setting.
The cruise control starts operating (displayed
in green).
With an automatic gearbox
The D or M mode must be selected.
With the speed of the vehicle between 1 and

mph (30 km/h and 180 km/h):

Switching off the ignition cancels any speed
setting value chosen by the driver.
By default, the inter-vehicle distance is set
at "
Normal " (2 dashes). Other wise, the last
setting made will be used when switching on
the system.
Pause
The cruise control can be paused manually:
- e ither by action by the driver:

n the button 4 (Pause).

n the brake pedal.

n the automatic electronic parking
brake control.

n the clutch pedal, by pressing for
approximately 10
seconds or more.

hen changing from D to N with an

hen the speed of the vehicle goes

mph (30 km/h) (1,100 rpm) with
a manual gearbox.
When the cruise control is paused, it can
only be reactivated when all of the safety
conditions are met again. The message
"Activation not possible, conditions
unsuitable" is displayed while reactivation
is not possible.
Reactivating the function
With manual gearbox
To reactivate the function, the driver must
accelerate to reach at least 19 mph (30 km/h),
then press one of the buttons 2 , 3 or 4.
With automatic gearbox
Following braking of the vehicle bringing it to
a complete stop, the system holds the vehicle
stationary; the cruise control is paused.
The driver should press the accelerator pedal
to move off, then reactivate the system above
19
mph (30 km/h) by pressing one of the
buttons 2 , 3 or 4.
If the driver takes no action following this
immobilisation, the automatic electronic parking
brake is applied automatically after a while
(approximately 5
minutes).
As a safety measure, wait until the current
speed approaches the speed setting to
reactivate the function by pressing button 4 .
Modification of the speed
setting
With the engine running and cruise control on
(green), you can modify the speed setting.
From the current speed
F By successive short presses on button 2 or
3, to lower or raise the setting in steps of +
or -1
mph (km/h).
Driving

As a safety measure, the driver must
only modify the speed settings when
stationary.
Changing a speed setting
From the Driving/Vehicle menu of
the touch screen, select " Driving
functions " then "Memorised speed
settings ".

Active Safety Brake
with Distance Alert and
Intelligent emergency
braking assistance
This system allows:
- t he driver to be warned that their vehicle is
at risk of collision with the vehicle in front,
-
a c
ollision to be prevented, or its severity to
be limited, by reducing the vehicle’s speed.
This system is a driving aid that includes three
functions:
-
D
istance Alert (alert if there is a risk of
collision),
-
I
ntelligent emergency braking assistance,
-
A
ctive Safety Brake (automatic emergency
b r ak ing).
The vehicle has a camera located at the top of
the windscreen.
By default, some speed settings are already
memorised.
This system is designed to assist the
driver and improve road safety.
It is the driver's responsibility to
continuously monitor the state of the
traffic, observing the driving regulations.
This system does not replace the need for
vigilance on the part of the driver.
As soon as the system detects a potential
obstacle, it prepares the braking circuit in
case automatic braking is needed. This
may cause a slight noise and a slight
sensation of deceleration.
Deactivation/Activation
By default, the system is automatically
activated at every engine start.
This system can be deactivated or
activated via the vehicle settings
menu.
With this button, you can select a memorised
speed setting to use with the speed limiter or
the programmable cruise control. Deactivation of the system is signalled
by the illumination of this indicator
lamp, accompanied by the display of a
message.
Driving

During a correction, if the driver is inactive
(not holding the steering wheel for
10 seconds), a warning message appears.
If the driver remains inactive (not holding
the steering wheel for 2
more seconds),
the correction is interrupted.
Risk of undesirable operation
The system is not intended for driving in the
following situations:

riving on a racing circuit,

riving with a trailer,
-
d
riving on a rolling stand,
-
d
riving on unstable sur faces.
Malfunction
Operating limits
The system goes into standby automatically in
the following cases:

he ASR /DSC systems are deactivated or
the ESC operation is triggered,

s
peed below 40 mph (65 km/h) or greater
than 112
mph (180 km/h),

c
onnected electrically to a trailer,
-
u
se of the "space-saver" spare
wheel detected (as detection is not
immediate, deactivation of the system is
recommended),
-
d
ynamic driving style detected, pressure on
the brake or accelerator pedal,
-
d
riving where there are no lane markings,
-
a
ctivation of the direction indicators,
-
c
rossing the inside line on a bend,
-
d
riving in a tight corner,
-
i
nactivity by the driver detected during
correction.
Deactivation of the system is recommended in
the following situations:

riving on a road sur face in poor condition,
-
u
nfavourable climatic conditions,
-
d
riving on slippery sur faces (ice).In the event of a fault with the system, you are
alerted by the illumination of these warning
lamps in the instrument panel, accompanied by
the display of a message and an audible signal.
Have the system checked by a PEUGEOT
dealer or a qualified workshop.
The following situations may interfere with
the operation of the system or prevent it
from working:

onditions of poor visibility (inadequate
street lighting, snowfall, rain, fog),
-
d
azzle (headlamps of an oncoming
vehicle, low sun, reflections on a damp
road, leaving a tunnel, alternating
shade and light),
-
w
indscreen area located in front of the
camera: dirty, misted, frost-covered,
snow-covered, damaged or covered by
a s t i c ke r,
-
l
ane markings worn, hidden (snow,
mud) or multiple (roadworks, etc.),
-
r
unning close to the vehicle in front
(the lane markings may not be
detected),
-
r
oads that are narrow, winding, etc.

Malfunction
If a fault occurs when shifting to
reverse, this warning lamp comes on
in the instrument panel, accompanied
by a message and an audible signal
(short beep).
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified
workshop to have the system checked.
Reversing camera
With the ignition on, this system uses a camera
located near the third brake lamp to display a
view of the rear of your vehicle on the output
screen (if it is a panel van or has a solid
partition).
The reversing camera is activated automatically
when reverse gear is engaged. The image is
displayed on the output screen. The output
screen switches off when the gearbox is in
neutral or in a for ward gear. The blue lines 1 represent the general direction
of the vehicle (the gap corresponds to the width
of your vehicle with the mirrors).
The red line 2 represents a distance of about
30
cm beyond the edge of your vehicle's rear
b u m p e r.
The green lines 3 represent distances of
about 1 and 2
metres beyond the edge of your
vehicle's rear bumper.
The turquoise blue curves 4 represent the
maximum turning circle.
The reversing camera is a driving aid which
cannot, in any circumstances, replace the
need for vigilance on the part of the driver.
Some objects may not be seen by the
camera. Certain vehicles may be difficult to see
(dark colours, headlamps off) when the
brightness of the screen is reduced by the
vehicle’s lighting dimmer.
The image quality may be affected by the
environment, the exterior conditions (rain,
dirt, dust), the driving mode, the lighting
conditions (night, low sun).
In the presence of areas in shade, or in
conditions of bright sunlight or inadequate
lighting, the image may be darkened and
with lower contrast.
Obstacles may appear further away than
they actually are in reality.
During parking manoeuvres and lane
changes, it is important to check the sides
of the vehicle using the mirrors.
The rear parking sensors also provide
information on the vehicle's surroundings.

Take care to reposition the tabs and the supply
wire correctly to avoid trapping the wire.
After changing a rear direction
indicator bulb, the reinitialisation time is
approximately 2
minutes or more.

ove aside the tabs, then extract the bulb

on it, then turning it a quarter turn anti-
