REAR SWITCH OPERATION
If the rear window wiper operation is inter-
rupted by snow, etc., the wiper may stop
moving to protect its motor. If this occurs,
turn the wiper switch to OFF and remove
the snow, etc. on and around the wiper
arms. Af ter about 1 minute, turn the switch
ON again to operate the wiper.
The rear window wiper and washer oper-
ate when the ignition switch is in the ON
position. Turn the switch clockwise from
the OFF position to operate the wiper.

WARNING
In freezing temperatures the washer
solution may freeze on the window and
obscure your vision. Warm the rear win-
dow with the defroster before you wash
the rear window.
CAUTION
∙ Do not operate the washer continu- ously for more than 30 seconds.
∙ Do not operate the washer if the windshield-washer fluid reservoir is
empty.
∙ Do not fill the windshield-washer fluid reservoir with windshield-washer
fluid concentrates at full strength.
Some methyl alcohol based
windshield-washer fluid concen-
trates may permanently stain the
grille if spilled while filling the
windshield-washer fluid reservoir.

∙ Pre-mix windshield-washer fluid con-centrates with water to the manufac-
turer’s recommended levels before
pouring the fluid into the windshield-
washer fluid reservoir. Do not use the
windshield-washer fluid reservoir to
mix the windshield-washer fluid con-
centrate and water.
To defrost the rear window glass and out-
side mirrors (if so equipped), place the igni-
tion switch in the ON position and push the
rear window defroster switch on. The rear
window defroster indicator light on the
switch comes on. Push the switch again to
turn the defroster off.
The rear window defroster automatically
turns off af ter approximately 15 minutes.
CAUTION
When cleaning the inner side of the rear
window, be careful not to scratch or
damage the rear window defroster. NOTE:
The top and bottom few rows of wires on
the rear window are not part of the rear
window defroster system. These wires
make up the antenna for the audio sys-
tem.

switch to prevent unexpected use of
the power windows.
∙ To help avoid risk of injury or death through unintended operation of the
vehicle and/or its systems, including
entrapment in windows or inadver-
tent door lock activation, do not leave
children, people who require the as-
sistance of others or pets unattended
in your vehicle. Additionally, the tem-
perature inside a closed vehicle on a
warm day can quickly become high
enough to cause a significant risk of
injury or death to people and pets.
The power windows operate when the ig-
nition switch is placed in the ON position or
for a period of time af ter the ignition switch
is placed in the OFF position. If the driver’s
or passenger’s door is opened during this
period of time, the power to the windows is
canceled.

Driver’s side power window
switch
The driver’s side control panel is equipped
with switches to open or close all of the
windows.
To open a window, push the switch to the
detent and continue to hold down until the
desired window position is reached. To
close a window, pull the switch to the de-
tent and continue to hold up until the de-
sired window position is reached.
Locking passengers’ windows
When the window lock switch is pushed,
only the driver’s side window can be
opened or closed. Push it again to cancel

Front passenger’s power window
switch
The passenger’s window switch operates
only the corresponding passenger’s win-
dow. To open the window partially, push the
switch down lightly until the desired win-
dow position is reached. To close the win-
dow partially, pull the switch up until the
desired window position is reached.
Rear power window switch
The rear power window switches open or
close only the corresponding windows. To
open the window, push the switch and hold
it down

Automatic operation
To fully open a window, push the window
switch down to the second detent and re-
lease it; it need not be held. The window
automatically opens all the way. To stop
the window, lif t the switch up while the win-
dow is opening.

switch down while the window is closing.

Auto-reverse function
The auto-reverse function can be acti-
vated when a window is closed by auto-
matic operation.
Depending on the environment or driv-
ing conditions, the auto-reverse func-
tion may be activated if an impact or
load similar to something being caught
in the window occurs.
WARNING
There are some small distances imme-
diately before the closed position which
cannot be detected. Make sure that all
passengers have their hands, etc., in-
side the vehicle before closing the
window.
If the vehicle’s battery is disconnected, re-
placed, or jump started, the power window
auto-reverse function may not operate
properly. Have the power window auto-
reverse system re-initialized. It is recom-
mended that you visit a NISSAN dealer for
this service.
If the control unit detects something
caught in a window equipped with auto-
matic operation as it is closing, the window
will be immediately lowered. The moonroof will only operate when the
ignition switch is placed in the ON position.
The moonroof is operational for a period of
time, even if the ignition switch is placed in
the ACC (if so equipped) or OFF position. If
the driver’s door or the front passenger’s
door is opened during this period of time,
the power to the moonroof is canceled.
When operating the power moonroof or
panoramic sunshade, the switch need not
be held continuously. To stop the moon-
roof or sunshade at any point while it is
opening or closing, slide the switch mo-
mentarily.
Sliding the moonroof
To open the moonroof, push the switch to
the open
1position and release it; it need
not be held. The roof will automatically
open or close all the way.
Press the switch again to fully open the
moonroof.
To close the moonroof, push the switch to
the
2position and release it. The roof will
automatically close all the way.
To stop the moonroof, push the switch
once more while it is opening or closing.
Tilting the moonroof
To tilt the moonroof up, first close the
moonroof. Push the switch to the
2posi-
tion and release it; it need not be held.
To tilt down the moonroof, push the switch
to the
2position and release it.

When the doors are locked using one of the
following methods, the doors cannot be
opened using the inside or outside door
handles. The doors must be unlocked to
open the doors.
WARNING
∙ Always have the doors locked whiledriving. Along with the use of seat
belts, this provides greater safety in
the event of an accident by helping to
prevent persons from being thrown
from the vehicle. This also helps keep
children and others from unintention-
ally opening the doors, and will help
keep out intruders.

that position, returning the key to neutral

The driver’s door key operation allows you
to open and close windows equipped with
automatic operation at the same time.
∙ To open the windows, turn the driver’s door key toward the rear of the vehicle
for longer than 1 second.
∙ To close the windows, turn the driver’s door key toward the front of the vehicle
for longer than 1 second.
Windows stop when the key cylinder is re-
leased.

Opening windows
The Intelligent Key allows you to simultane-
ously open windows equipped with auto-
matic operation.
∙ To open the windows, press and hold the
button on the Intelligent Key
for longer than 3 seconds.
The door windows will lower while holding
down the
button on the Intelligent
Key.
NOTE:
The windows will stop lowering at the
time the
button is released.
However, the Intelligent Key cannot be
used from inside the vehicle to lower the
windows. The door windows cannot be
closed with the Intelligent Key.
Releasing the rear lif tgate (if so
equipped)
The rear lif tgate can be opened and closed
by performing the following:
∙ Press the
button for longer than
1 second to open the rear lif tgate.
∙ Press the
button again for longer
than 1 second to close the rear lif tgate.
When the
button is pressed during
the open or close process the lif tgate will
pause. When the
is pressed again
and held for longer than 1 second, the lif t-
gate will reverse.
Using the panic alarm
If you are near your vehicle and feel threat-
ened, you may activate the panic alarm to
call attention by pressing and holding
the
button on the Intelligent Key for
longer than 1 second.
The headlights will flash and the panic
alarm will stay on for a period of time.
The panic alarm stops when:
∙ It has run for a period of time.
∙ Any button is pressed on the Intelligent Key.
