dible warning, when the system detects
the possibility of a forward collision.

Cruise ON (if so equipped)
This message appears if the
cruise
control switch on the steering wheel is
pressed and Cruise Control Alerts are en-
abled in the vehicle information display.

of this manual.
Cruise Target Speed SET (if so equipped)
This message will appear if the Cruise Con-
trol system is on when the SET switch is
pushed and the Cruise Control Alerts are
enabled.

of this manual. Intelligent Cruise ON (if so equipped)
This message appears if the
Intelli-
gent Cruise Control (ICC) switch on the
steering wheel is pressed and Cruise Con-
trol Alerts are enabled in the vehicle infor-
mation display.

and driving” section of this manual.
Target Speed SET with Intelligent Dis-
tance Control (if so equipped)
This message will appear if the Intelligent
Cruise Control system is on when the SET
switch is pushed and the Cruise Control
Alerts are enabled.
For additional information, refer to “Cruise
control” in the “Starting and driving” section
of this manual. Some of the information and operations
available on the control panel can also be
viewed and operated on the vehicle infor-
mation display. The vehicle information
display operations can be conducted with
the switches on the steering wheel.
AUDIO
Useorand selecton the
vehicle information display main menu.
The vehicle information display shows the
status for the audio source currently in use.
Some examples of what will be displayed:

Pushing the SOURCE button will display a
list of available sources to select with the
steering switch controls if the ignition is on,
or cycle through the available audio
sources in accessory mode.

High Beam Assist (if so equipped)
The High Beam Assist system will operate
when the vehicle is driven at speeds of ap-
proximately 25 mph (40 km/h) and above. If
an oncoming vehicle or leading vehicle ap-
pears in front of your vehicle when the
headlight high beam is on, the headlight
will be switched to the low beam automati-
cally.
WARNING
∙ The High Beam Assist system is a con-venience but it is not a substitute for
safe driving operation. The driver
should remain alert at all times, en-
sure safe driving practices and switch
the high beams and low beam manu-
ally when necessary.
∙ The high beam or low beam may not switch automatically under the fol-
lowing conditions. Switch the high
beam and low beam manually.
– During bad weather (rain, fog, snow, wind, etc.).
– When a light source similar to a headlight or tail light is in the vicin-
ity of the vehicle. – When the headlights of the on-
coming vehicle or the leading ve-
hicle are turned off, when the color
of the light is affected due to for-
eign materials on the lights, or
when the light beam is out of
position.
– When there is a sudden, continu- ous change in brightness.
– When driving on a road that passes over rolling hills, or a road that has
level differences.
– When driving on a road with many curves.
– When a sign or mirror-like surface is reflecting intense light towards
the front of the vehicle.
– When the container, etc. being towed by a leading vehicle is re-
flecting intense light.
– When a headlight on your vehicle is damaged or dirty.
– When the vehicle is leaning at an angle due to a punctured tire, be-
ing towed, etc. ∙ The timing of switching the low beam
and high beam may change under the
following situations.
– The brightness of the headlights of the oncoming vehicle or leading
vehicle.
– The movement and direction of the oncoming vehicle and the lead-
ing vehicle.
– When only one light on the oncom- ing vehicle or the leading vehicle is
illuminated.
– When the oncoming vehicle or the leading vehicle is a two-wheeled
vehicle.
– Road conditions (incline, curve, the road surface, etc.).
– The number of passengers and the amount of luggage.

The headlights must be on and the low
beams selected for the fog lights to oper-
ate. The fog lights automatically turn off
when the high beam headlights are se-
lected.To sound the horn, push near the center
pad of the steering wheel.
WARNING
Do not disassemble the horn. Doing so
could affect proper operation of the
supplemental front air bag system.
Tampering with the supplemental front
air bag system may result in serious
personal injury.The climate-controlled seat warms up or
cools down the front seat by blowing warm
or cool air from under the surface of the
seat. The climate control switch is located
on the center console.
The climate-controlled seat can be oper-
ated as follows:
1. Start the engine.
2. Turn the control knob

Push the heated steering wheel switch to
warm the steering wheel af ter the ignition
switch is placed in the ON position. The
indicator light will come on.
If the surface temperature of the steering
wheel is below 68°F (20°C), the system will
heat the steering wheel and cycle off and
on to maintain a temperature above 68°F
(20°C). The indicator light will remain on as
long as the system is on.
Push the switch again to turn the heated
steering wheel system off manually. The
indicator light will go off.NOTE:
∙ Once activated, your heated steering
wheel will automatically turn on and
off to maintain a temperature above
68°F (20°C).
∙ When the temperature of the steering
wheel is above 122°F (50°C) and the
heated steering wheel switch is
turned on, the system will not heat
the steering wheel. This does not in-
dicate a malfunction.
The dynamic driver assistance switch is
used to temporarily activate the Intelligent
Lane Intervention (I-LI) system that is en-
abled using the settings menu of the ve-
hicle information display.
The I-LI system can be turned on with the
dynamic driver assistance switch af ter
starting the engine.
The dynamic driver assistance switch illu-
minates for a few seconds when the igni-
tion switch is placed in the ON position.

When the dynamic driver assistance
switch is turned off, the indicator
1on the
switch is off. The indicator will also be off if
the I-LI system is deactivated using the ve-
hicle information display.
The I-LI system warns the driver with a
warning light and a chime, and helps assist
the driver to return the vehicle to the center
of the traveling lane by applying the brakes
to the lef t or right wheels individually (for a
short period of time). For additional infor-
mation, refer to “Intelligent Lane Interven-
tion (I-LI)” in the “Starting and driving” sec-
tion and “Vehicle information display” in the
“Instruments and controls” section of this
manual. The vehicle should be driven with the VDC
system on for most driving conditions.
If the vehicle is stuck in mud or snow, the
VDC system reduces the engine output to
reduce wheel spin. The engine speed will
be reduced even if the accelerator is de-
pressed to the floor. If maximum engine
power is needed to free a stuck vehicle,
turn the VDC system off.
To turn off the VDC system, push the VDC
OFF switch. The
indicator light will
come on. Push the VDC OFF switch again or restart
the engine to turn on the system. For addi-
tional information, refer to “Vehicle Dy-
namic Control (VDC) system” in the “Start-
ing and driving” section of this manual.
When the VDC OFF switch is used to turn off
the VDC system, the Intelligent Trace Con-
trol and Active Ride Control systems are
also turned off. For additional information,
refer to “Integrated Dynamics-control Mod-
ule” in the “Starting and driving” section of
this manual.

The extended storage switch is used when
the vehicle is in transit from the factory. It is
located in the fuse panel to the lef t of the
steering wheel on the instrument panel. If
any electrical equipment does not operate,
ensure the extended storage switch is
pushed fully in place, as shown.

To remove the fuel-filler cap:1. Turn the fuel-filler cap counterclock- wise to remove.
2. Put the fuel-filler cap on the cap holder
1while refueling.
To install the fuel-filler cap: 1. Insert the fuel-filler cap straight into the fuel-filler tube.
2. Turn the fuel-filler cap clockwise until a single click is heard.
Loose Fuel Cap warning
The Loose Fuel Cap warning appears in the
vehicle information display when the fuel-
filler cap is not tightened correctly af ter the
vehicle has been refueled. It may take a few
driving trips for the message to be dis-
played. To turn off the warning, perform the
following:
1. Remove and install the fuel-filler cap as soon as possible. For additional infor-
mation, refer to “Fuel-filler cap” in this
section.
2. Tighten the fuel-filler cap until it a single click is heard.
WARNING
∙ Do not adjust the steering wheel whiledriving. You could lose control of your
vehicle and cause an accident.
∙ Do not adjust the steering wheel any closer to you than is necessary for
proper steering operation and com-
fort. The driver’s air bag inflates with
great force. If you are unrestrained,
leaning forward, sitting sideways or
out of position in any way, you are at
greater risk of injury or death in a
crash. You may also receive serious or
fatal injuries from the air bag if you
are up against it when it inflates. Al-
ways sit back against the seatback
and as far away as practical from the
steering wheel. Always use the seat
belts.
