bulbs of the same type and the specified volt-age.
Marks on the glass tube reduce the service lifeof the bulbs. Do not touch the glass tube withyour bare hands. If necessary, clean the glasstube when cold with alcohol or spirit and rub itoff with a lint-free cloth.
Protect bulbs from moisture during operation.Do not allow bulbs to come into contact withliquids.
Only replace the lamps listed (Ypage 102).Have the bulbs that you cannot replace your-self replaced at a qualified specialist work-shop.
If you require assistance replacing lamps, con-sult a qualified specialist workshop.
If the new lamp still does not light up, consulta qualified specialist workshop.
Bulbs and lamps are an important aspect ofvehicle safety. You must therefore make surethat these function correctly at all times. Havethe headlamp setting checked regularly.
Vehicles with LED headlamps
The front and rear light clusters of your vehicleare equipped with LED light bulbs. Do notreplace the bulbs yourself. Contact a qualifiedspecialist workshop which has the necessaryspecialist knowledge and tools to carry out thework required.

XTo remove:switch off the lights.
XTurn the front wheels inwards.
XSlide coverCup and remove it.

Low-beam headlamps (halogen head-
lamps)
XRemove the cover in the front wheel hous-ing (Ypage 102).
XTurn housing coverCcounter-clockwiseand pull it out.
XPush barDupwards.
XRemove connector

XAttach housing coverCand turn it clock-wise until it engages.
XReplace the cover in the front wheel housing(Ypage 102).
High-beam headlamps (halogen head-
lamps)/cornering lamps (Bi-Xenon

XSwitch off the lights.
XOpen the hood.
XTurn housing coverCcounter-clockwiseand pull it out.
XAt the bulb holder, push the bulb upwards,disconnect it and pull it out of bulbholderD.
XInsert the new bulb into bulb holderDatthe top, push it down and secure it in place.
XAttach housing coverCand turn it clock-wise until it engages.

Due to their location, have the bulbs in theside marker lamp changed at a qualified spe-cialist workshop.
Windshield wipers
Switching the windshield wipers
on/off
!Do not operate the windshield wiperswhen the windshield is dry, as this coulddamage the wiper blades. Moreover, dustthat has collected on the windshield canscratch the glass if wiping takes place whenthe windshield is dry.
If it is necessary to switch on the windshieldwipers in dry weather conditions, always usewasher fluid when operating the windshieldwipers.
!If the windshield wipers leave smears onthe windshield after the vehicle has beenwashed in an automatic car wash, wax orother residues may be the reason for this.Clean the windshield using washer fluidafter washing the vehicle in an automaticcar wash.
!Intermittent wiping with rain sensor: dueto optical influences and the windshieldbecoming dirty in dry weather conditions,the windshield wipers may be activatedinadvertently. This could then damage thewindshield wiper blades or scratch the wind-shield.
For this reason, you should always switchoff the windshield wipers in dry weather.
