When adjusting a seat, make surethatno one has any body parts inthe sweepofthe seat.
Observethe safety notes on "Airbags" and "Chil‐dren inthevehicle".
\nWARNINGRisk of accident duetothedriver's seat not being engaged
Ifthe driver's seat is not engaged, it couldmoveunexpectedly whilethevehicle is inmotion.
This could causeyoutolose control ofthevehicle.
Always make surethatthe driver's seatis engaged beforestartingthevehicle.

Beforestartingthe engine: adjustthedriver's seat,the headrestraint,thesteering wheel orthe mirror andfastenyour seat belt.

Ifyou adjustthe seat height carelessly,youorothervehicle occupants could be trappedandthereby injured.

Always ensurethatthe seat backrest isin an almostvertical position andthatthe shoulder section ofyour seat belt isrouted acrossthe center ofyour shoul‐der.

Releasetherear seat backrest andfold itslightlyforwards (page106).
Pullthe headrestraint upwards asfar as itwill go.
Pushrelease knob1inthe direction ofthearrowand pull outthe headrestraint.
Installing
Insertthe headrestraint suchthatthenotches onthe bar are onthe left whenviewed inthe direction of travel.
Pushthe headrestraint down untilyou hearit engagein position.Foldtherear seat backrest back until itengages.

Whenthe memory function adjuststhe seatorsteering wheel,you andothervehicleoccupants – particularlychildren – couldbecome trapped.
Duringthe setting procedure ofthememory function, ensurethat no bodyparts are inthe sweep ofthe seat orthesteering wheel.
If somebody becomes trapped, immedi‐atelyreleasethe memory function posi‐tion button.The adjustment process isstopped.

Children could become trapped iftheyacti‐vatethe memory function, particularly whenunattended.
Never leavechildren unattended inthevehicle.
