Vehicles With SYNC
Mobile Device Data
If you connect a mobile device to yourvehicle, you can display data from yourdevice on the touchscreen for example,music and album art. You can share yourvehicle data with mobile apps on your devicethrough the system. See Apps (page 442).
The mobile apps function operates by yourconnected device sending data to us in theUnited States. The data is encrypted andincludes the vehicle identification number ofyour vehicle, the SYNC module serialnumber, odometer, enabled apps, usagestatistics and debugging information. Weretain it only as long as necessary to providethe service, to troubleshoot, for continuousimprovement and to offer you products andservices that may be of interest to youaccording to your preferences and whereallowed by law.
If you connect a cell phone to the system,the system creates a profile that links to thatcell phone. The cell phone profile enablesmore mobile features and efficient operation.The profile contains, for example data fromyour phonebook, read and unread textmessages and call history, including historyof calls when your cell phone was notconnected to the system.
If you connect a media device, the systemcreates and retains a media device index ofsupported media content. The system alsorecords a short diagnostic log ofapproximately 10 minutes of all recent systemactivity.
The cell phone profile, media device indexand diagnostic log remain in your vehicleunless you delete them and are generallyaccessible only in your vehicle when youconnect your cell phone or media device. Ifyou no longer plan to use the system or yourvehicle, we recommend you use the masterreset function to erase the storedinformation. See Settings (page 445).
System data cannot be accessed withoutspecial equipment and access to yourvehicle's module.

Enabling SYNC 3 Mobile Apps
In order to enable mobile apps, SYNC 3requires user consent to send and receiveapp authorization information and updatesusing the data plan associated with theconnected device.
The connected device sends data to Lincolnin the United States. The information isencrypted and includes your VIN, SYNC 3module number, odometer, usage statisticsand debugging information. We retain thisdata for only as long as necessary to providethis service, troubleshoot, and improveproducts and services and to offer youproducts and services that may interest youwhere allowed by law.
Note:You must enable mobile apps for eachconnected device the first time you select amobile app using the system.
Note:Lincoln reserves the right to limitfunctionality or deactivate mobile apps atany time.
Note: Standard data rates apply. Lincoln isnot responsible for any additional chargesyou may receive from your service provider,when your vehicle sends or receives datathrough the connected device. This includesany additional charges incurred due todriving in areas when roaming out of a homenetwork.
You can enable and disable apps throughsettings. See Settings (page 445).
App Permissions
The system organizes the app permissionsinto groups. You can individually grant thesegroup permissions.You can change apermission group status any time when notdriving, by using the settings menu. Whilein the settings menu, you can also see thedata included in each group.
When you launch an app using SYNC 3, thesystem may ask you to grant certainpermissions, for example Vehicle information,Driving characteristics, GPS and Speed,and/or Push notifications. You can enable allgroups or none of them during the initial apppermissions prompts. The settings menuoffers individual group permission control.
Note:You are only prompted to grantpermissions the first time you use an appwith SYNC 3.
Note:If you disable group permissions, appswill still be enabled to work with SYNC 3unless you deactivate All Apps in the settingsmenu.

SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE
If you operate your vehicle primarily in anyof the following conditions, you need toperform extra maintenance as indicated. Ifyou operate your vehicle occasionally underany of these conditions, it is not necessaryto perform the extra maintenance. Forspecific recommendations, see yourdealership service advisor or technician.
Perform the services shown in the followingtables when specified or within 3,000 mi(4,800 km) of the message appearing in theinformation display prompting you to changeyour oil.
•Example 1: The message comes on at28,750 mi (46,270 km). Perform the30,000 mi (48,000 km) automatictransmission fluid replacement.
•Example 2: The message has not comeon, but the odometer reads 30,000 mi(48,000 km) (for example, the IntelligentOil-Life Monitor was reset at 25,000 mi(40,000 km). Perform the engine air filterreplacement.
