When the vehicle is not driven for extended periods ●
To prevent theft of the vehicle, do not leave the electronic key within 6 ft. (2 m) of the
vehicle. ●
The smart access system wi th push-button start can be deactivated in advance.

To operate the system properly ●
Make sure to carry the electr onic key when operating the system. Do not get the elec-
tronic key too close to the vehicle when operating the system from the outside of the
vehicle.
Depending on the position and holding condit ion of the electronic key, the key may not
be detected correctly and the system may no t operate properly. (The alarm may go off
accidentally, or the door lock prev ention function may not operate.)●
Do not leave the electronic key inside the trunk.
The key confinement prevention function ma y not operate, depending on the location
of the key (close to a spare tire [if equipped], the inside edge of the trunk), conditions
(inside a metal bag, close to metallic obje cts) and the radio waves in the surrounding

Caution regarding interference with electronic devices●
People with implantable cardiac pacema kers, cardiac resynchronization therapy-
pacemakers or implantable cardioverter de fibrillators should keep away from the
smart access system with push-button start antennas. (  P. 156)
The radio waves may affect the operation of such devices. If necessary, the entry
function can be disabled. Ask your Lexus dealer for details, such as the frequency of
radio waves and timing of the emitted radio waves. Then, consult your doctor to see if
you should disable the entry function. ●
Users of any electrical medical device ot her than implantable cardiac pacemakers,
cardiac resynchronization th erapy-pacemakers or implantable cardioverter defibril-
lators should consult the manufacturer of the device for information about its opera-
tion under the influence of radio waves.
Radio waves could have unexpected effects on the operation of such medical
devices.
Ask your Lexus dealer for details on disabling the entry function.

Operation of each component
RC F_U Each electronic key (including a card key) can be registered to recall your pre-
ferred driving position. ■
Registering procedure
Record your driving position to button “1”, “2” or “3” before performing the
following:
Carry only the key you want to regist er, and then close the driver’s door.
If 2 or more keys are in the vehicle, the driving position cannot be recorded
properly.
Check that the shift lever is in P.
Turn the engine switch to IGNITION ON mode.
Recall the driving position that you want to record.
While pressing the recalled but-
ton, press and hold the door lock
switch (either lock or unlock) until
the buzzer sounds. If the button could not be registered,
the buzzer sounds continuously for
approximately 3 seconds.

Recall procedure
Make sure that the doors are locked before recalling the driving position.
Carry the electronic key that has been registered to the driving position,
and then unlock and open the driver’s door using the smart access system
with push-button start or wireless remote control. The driving position will move to the recorded position (not including the steering
wheel). However, the seat will move to a position slightly behind the re corded posi-
tion in order to make entering the vehicle easier.
If the driving position is in a position th at has already been recorded, the seat and
outside rear view mirrors will not move.
Turn the engine switch to ACCESS ORY mode or IGNITION ON mode,
or fasten a seat belt. The seat and steering wheel will move to the recorded position.Memory recall function (if equipped) 1

Cancelation procedure
Carry only the key you want to cance l and then close the driver’s door.
If 2 or more keys are in the vehicle, the driving position cannot be canceled
properly.
Turn the engine switch to IGNITION ON mode.
While pressing the “SET” button, pr ess and hold the door lock switch
(either lock or unlock) un til the buzzer sounds twice.If the button could not be canceled, the buzzer sounds contin uously for approxi-
mately 3 seconds.■
Recalling the driving position using the memory recall function●
Different driving positions can be registered for each electronic key. Therefore, the
driving position that is recalled may be di fferent depending on the key being carried.●
If a door other than the driver’s door is unlocked with the smart access system with
push-button start, the driving position cannot be recalled. In this case, press the driving
position button which has been set. ■
Customization
The unlock door settings of the memory recall function can be changed.

When the battery is disconnected
The window lock switch is disabled. If nece ssary, press the window lock switch after
reconnecting the battery. ■
Power windows open warning buzzer
The buzzer sounds and a message is shown on the multi-information display in the instru-
ment cluster when the engine switch is turned off and the driver’s door is opened with the
power windows open. ■
Customization

The moon roof can be operated when
The engine switch is in IGNITION ON mode. ■
Operating the moon roof after turning the engine off
The moon roof can be operated for approximat ely 45 seconds after the engine switch is
turned to ACCESSORY mode or turned off. It cannot, however, be operated once either
door is opened. ■
Jam protection function
If an object is detected between the moon r oof and the frame while the moon roof is clos-
ing or tilting down, travel is stopped and the moon roof opens slightly. ■
Sunshade
The sunshade can be opened and closed manually. Howe ver, the sunshade will open
automatically when the moon roof is opened. ■
Door lock linked moon roof operation ●
The moon roof can be opened and closed using the mechanical key.

If the moon roof does not close normally
Perform the following procedure:
Stop the vehicle.
Press and hold the “CLOSE” switch.
*The moon roof will close, reopen and pause for approximately 10 seconds. Then it will
close again and stop at the completely closed position.
Check to make sure that the moon roof is completely closed and then release the
switch.
* : If the switch is released at the incorrect time, the procedure will have to be performed
again from the beginning.
If the moon roof does not fully close even after performing the above procedure cor-
rectly, have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer. 1

If the moon roof does not move normally
If the moon roof does not open or close no rmally or the automatic opening function does
not operate, perform the follo wing initialization procedure.
Turn the engine switch to IGNITION ON mode.
Operate the moon roof.
Depending on the kind of malfunction perform ei ther of the following:
If the moon roof does not open wh en the “OPEN” switch is pressed
Press and hold the “DOWN” switch or “CLO SE” switch until the moon roof is com-
pletely closed.
The moon roof will open and close a fe w times before it closes completely.
Confirm that the moon roof has comple tely stopped and release the switch.
If the moon roof does not open completely automatically even though it tilts up and
opens while the “OPEN” switch is being pressed and held
Press and hold the “OPEN” switch un til the moon roof opens completely.
Press and hold the “CLOSE” switch unti l the moon roof closes completely.
Press and hold the “UP” switch unti l the moon roof tilts up and stops.
Press and hold the “DOWN” switch until th e moon roof tilts down and stops at the
completely closed position.
If you release the switch while the moon roof is moving, perform the procedure again
from the beginning.
If, after performing the above procedures corr ectly, the moon roof still does not open or
close normally or the automatic opening function does not operate, have the vehicle
inspected by your Lexus dealer. ■
Moon roof open warning buzzer
The buzzer sounds and a message is shown on the multi-information display in the instru-
ment cluster when the engine switch is turned off and the driver’s door is opened with the
moon roof open. ■
Customization

With the brake pedal depressed, shift the shift lever to D. (  P. 213)
Release the parking brake. (  P. 222)
Gradually release the brake pedal and gently depress the accelerator pedal
to accelerate the vehicle.
With the shift lever in D, depress the brake pedal.
If necessary, set the parking brake. If the vehicle is to be stopped for an extended period of time, shift the shift lever to P or
N. (  P. 213)
With the shift lever in D, depress the brake pedal.
Set the parking brake (  P. 222), and shift the shift lever to P (  P. 213).
Press the engine switch to stop the engine.
Lock the door, making sure that you ha ve the electronic key on your person.If parking on a hill, bloc k the wheels as needed.
Make sure that the parking brake is set and shift the shift lever to D.
Gently depress the accelerator pedal.

Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may result in death or serious injury. ■
When the vehicle is parked ●
Do not leave glasses, cigarette lighters, sp ray cans, or soft drink cans in the vehicle
when it is in the sun.
Doing so may result in the following:
• Gas may leak from a cigarette lighter or spray can, and may lead to a fire.
• The temperature inside the vehicle may cau se the plastic lenses and plastic mate-
rial of glasses to deform or crack.
• Soft drink cans may fracture, causing the contents to spray over the interior of the
vehicle, and may also cause a short circui t in the vehicle’s electrical components.●
Do not leave cigarette lighters in the vehicle. If a cigarette lighter is in a place such as
the glove box or on the floor, it may be lit accidentally when luggage is loaded or the
seat is adjusted, causing a fire. ●
Do not attach adhesive discs to the windsh ield or windows. Do not place containers
such as air fresheners on th e instrument panel or dashbo ard. Adhesive discs or con-
tainers may act as lenses, ca using a fire in the vehicle.●
Do not leave a door or window open if th e curved glass is coated with a metallized
film such as a silver-colored one. Reflecte d sunlight may cause the glass to act as a
lens, causing a fire. ●
Always apply the parking brake, shift the shift lever to P, stop the engine and lock the
vehicle.
Do not leave the vehicle unattend ed while the engine is running.
If the vehicle is parked with the shift leve r in P but the parking brake is not set, the
vehicle may start to move, possibly leading to an accident. ●
Do not touch the exhaust pipes while the engine is running or immediately after turn-
ing the engine off.
Doing so may cause burns. ■
When taking a nap in the vehicle
Always turn the engine off. Otherwise, if you accidentally move the shift lever or
depress the accelerator pedal, this could cause an accident or fire due to engine over-
heating. Additionally, if the ve hicle is parked in a poorly ventilated area, exhaust gases
may collect and enter the vehicle, leading to death or a serious health hazard.
