RC F_U 4-3. Operating the lights and wipers
Turning the end of the lever turns on the lights as follows:
Headlight switch The headlights can be operated manually or automatically.

The side marker, parking, tail,
license plate, instrument panel
lights, and daytime running
lights (  P. 226) turn on.
The headlights and all lights
listed above (except daytime
running lights) turn on.
The headlights, daytime run-
ning lights (  P. 226) and all
the lights listed above turn on
and off automatically.

Interior features
RC F_U WARNING ■
To prevent the windshield from fogging up ●
Do not use during cool air operation in extremely humid weather. The differ-
ence between the temperature of the outside air and that of the windshield can cause
the outer surface of the windshield to fog up, blocking your vision.
■
To prevent burns ●
Do not touch the rear view mirror surfaces when the outside rear view mirror defog-
gers are on. ●
Do not touch the glass at lower part of the windshield or to the side of the front pillars
when the windshield wiper de-icer is on.
NOTICE ■
To prevent battery discharge
Do not leave the air conditioni ng system on longer than necessary when the engine is
stopped. ●
Do not place anything on the instrument
panel which may cover th e air outlets. Other-
wise, air flow may be obstructed, preventing
the windshield defoggers from defogging.

Brush the surfaces using a soft brush. Do not brush hard as doing so may cause damage.●
Wipe the surfaces clean with a soft clot h that has been dampened in cold or
lukewarm water and squeezed out. ●
Allow the artificial leather (Alcantara ®
* ) to dry in a shaded and ventilated
area.

Caring for leather areas
Lexus recommends cleaning the interior of the vehicle at least twice a year to maintain
the quality of the vehicle’s interior. ■
Shampooing the carpets
There are several commercial foaming-type cl eaners available. Use a sponge or brush to
apply the foam. Rub in overlapp ing circles. Do not use water. Wipe dirty surfaces and let
them dry. Excellent results are obtained by keeping the carpet as dry as possible.■
Seat belts
Clean with mild soap and lukewarm water us ing a cloth or sponge. Also check the belts
periodically for excessive wear, fraying or cuts. ■
When cleaning the carpeted portions of the glove box, console box, etc.
If a strong adhesive tape is used, there is a possibility that the surface of the carpet could
be damaged.Cleaning the artificial leather (Alcantara ®

WARNING ■
Water in the vehicle ●
Do not splash or spill liquid in the vehicle.
Doing so may cause electrical components etc. to malfunction or catch fire. ●
Do not get any of the SRS components or wiring in the vehicle interior wet.

An electrical malfunction ma y cause the airbags to deploy or not function properly,
resulting in death or serious injury. ■
Cleaning the interior (especially instrument panel)
Do not use polish wax or polish cleaner. Th e instrument panel may reflect off the wind-
shield, obstructing the driver’s view and le ading to an accident, resulting in death or
serious injury.

Open the Fuse box cover. 
Engine compartment: type A fuse box
Push the tab in and lift the lid off. 
Engine compartment: type B fuse box
Push the tab in and lift the lid off. 
Driver’s side instrument panel
Remove the lid.Checking and replacing fuses If any of the electrical components do not operate, a fuse may have blown. If
this happens, check and repl ace the fuses as necessary.1
