The recorded data varies accord ing to the vehicle grade level and options with which it is
equipped.
These computers do not record conversations or sounds, and only record images out-
side of the vehicle in certain situations.
• Engine speed/Electric motor speed (traction motor speed)
• Accelerator status
•Brake status
• Vehicle speed
• Operation status of the driv ing assist systems, such as the ABS and pre-collision sys-
tem
• Images from the front camera (available only when certain safety systems are acti-
vated, which varies depending on the vehicle specifications).●
Data Transmission Your vehicle may transmit the data recorded in these computers to Lexus without noti-
fication to you.●
Data usage Lexus may use the data recorded in this co mputer to diagnose malfunctions, conduct
research and development, and improve quality.
Lexus will not disclose the recorded data to a third party except:
• With the consent of the vehicle owner or with the consent of the lessee if the vehicle
is leased
• In response to an official request by the police, a court of law or a government
agency
• For use by Lexus in a lawsuit
• For research purposes where the data is not tied to a specific vehicle or vehicle
owner●
Recorded image information can be erased by your Lexus dealer. The image recording function can be disabled . However, if the function is disabled,
data from when the pre-collision sy stem operates will not be available.●

them in the holder. To reattach the seat belt, reverse the

built-in transponder ch ip) of another vehicleThe vehicle’s keys have built-in tran sponder chips that prevent the engine
from starting if a key has not been previously registered in the vehicle’s on-
board computer.
Never leave the keys inside the vehicle when you leave the vehicle.
This system is designed to help prev ent vehicle theft but does not guarantee
absolute security against all vehicle thefts.

Eco Driving Indicator Light

The vehicle is set to sport mode or customized mode. (  P. 290)●
The vehicle speed is approximately 81 mph (130 km/h) or higher. ●
The Crawl Control is operating. (  P. 313)●
The paddle shift switch (i f equipped) is operating.During Eco-Friendly acceleration operation
(Eco driving), Eco Driving Indicator Light will
turn on. When the acceleration exceeds Zone
of Eco driving (  P. 103), or when the vehicle is
stopped, the light turns off.
Eco Driving Indicator Light will not operate in
the following conditions: ●
The shift lever is in any position other than D.
WARNING ■
If a safety system warnin g light does not come on
Should a safety system light such as the Multi Terrain ABS and the SRS warning light
not come on when you start the engine, th is could mean that these systems are not
available to help protect you in an accide nt, which could result in death or serious
injury. Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer immediately if this occurs.

Operation of each component ■
Before folding the third seats
Stow the seat belts buckles.
Stow the center head restraint in the seatback. (  P. 163)
Pass the outer seat belts through
the seat belt hangers and secure
the seat belt plates. This prevents the shoulder belt from
being damaged.
Make sure that th e seat belts are
removed from the hangers before
using them.
Stow the center seat belt tabs in the cover set in the roof. (  P. 32)■

Driving ●
Always place wheel blocks under both the vehicle’s and the trailer’s wheels
when parking. Apply the parking brake firmly, and put the transmission in P.
Avoid parking on a slope, but if unavoidable, do so only after performing the
following:
Apply the brakes and keep them applied.
Have someone place wheel blocks under both the vehicle’s and trailer’s
wheels.
When the wheel blocks are in place, release the brakes slowly until the
blocks absorb the load.
Shift into P and apply the parking brake.
Turn off the engine.●
When restarting afte r parking on a slope:
With the transmission in P, start the en gine. Be sure to keep the brake pedal
pressed.
Shift into a forward gear. If reversing, shift into R.
If the parking brake is in manual mode, release the parking brake.

Release the brake pedal, and slowly pull or back away from the wheel
blocks. Stop and apply the brakes.

◆ Pre-collision warning
When the system determines that
the possibility of a frontal collision is
high, a buzzer will sound and a warn-
ing message will be displayed on the
multi-information display to urge the
driver to take evasive action.
◆ Pre-collision brake assist
When the system determines that the po ssibility of a frontal collision is high,
the system applies greater braking force in relation to how strongly the brake
pedal is depressed.
◆ Pre-collision braking
When the system determines that the po ssibility of a frontal collision is high,
the system warns the driver. If the syst em determines that the possibility of a
frontal collision is extremely high, the br akes are automatically applied to help
avoid the collision or reduce the collision speed.
◆ Suspension control
When the system determines that the po ssibility of a frontal collision is high,
the Adaptive Variable Suspension System (  P. 383) will control the damp-
ing force of the shock absorbers to help maintain an appropriate vehicle pos-
ture.
