Interior features ■
Switching between outside air and recirculated air modes
Press on the control panel. The mode switches among (recirculated air mode), “AUTO” and
(outside air mode) each time is pressed.
When the system is switched to auto matic mode, it operates automatically.■
Defogging the windshield
Defoggers are used to defog the wi ndshield and front side windows.
Press on the control panel. Set the outside/recirculated air mode button to outside air mode if the recirculated
air mode is used. (It may switch automatically.)
To defog the windshield and the side wind ows early, turn the air flow and tempera-
ture up.
To return to the previous mode, press
again when the windshield is
defogged.■
Defogging the rear window and outside rear view mirrors
Defoggers are used to defog the rear window and to remove raindrops, dew
and frost from the outside rear view mirrors.
Press on the control panel. Press again to turn the defogger off.

Micro dust and pollen filter
Pollen is removed from the air and the air flows to the upper part of the body.
Select on the option control screen. In order to prevent the windshield from fo gging up when the outside air is cold, the
dehumidification function may operate.
The pollens are filtered out even if the micro dust and pollen filter is turned off.

Windshield wiper de-icer
This feature is used to prevent ice fr om building up on the windshield and
wiper blades.
Select on the option control screen. When the windshield wiper de-ice r is on, the indicator turns on.
The windshield wiper de-icer will automati cally turn off after a period of time.Other functions

When the outside temperature is low
The dehumidification function may not operate even when is selected. ■
Micro dust and pollen filter ●
In order to prevent the windows from fogging up when the outside air is cold, the fol-
lowing may occur.
• Outside air mode does not swit ch to recirculated air mode.
• The air conditioning system operates automatically.
• The operation cancels after 1 minute. ●
In rainy weather, the windows may fog up. Press . ■
The rear window defogger, outside rear vi ew mirror defogger and windshield wiper de-
icer can be operated when
The engine switch is in IGNITION ON mode. ■
When the windshield wiper de-icer is on
The windshield wiper de-icer will automatically turn off after approximately 15 minutes.■
Ventilation and air conditioning odors ●
To let fresh air in, set the air conditioning system to the outside air mode. ●
During use, various odors from inside and outside the vehicle may enter into and accu-
mulate in the air conditioning system. This may then cause odor to be emitted from the
vents. ●
To reduce potential odors from occurring:
• It is recommended that the air conditioning system be set to outside air mode prior
to turning the vehicle off.
• The start timing of the blower may be dela yed for a short period of time immediately
after the air conditioning system is started in automatic mode.■
While the cool box is on (if equipped)
The front air conditioning sy stem cannot be turned off.■

WARNING ■
To prevent the windshield from fogging up ●
Do not use during cool air operation in extremely humid weather. The differ-
ence between the temperature of the outside air and that of the windshield can cause
the outer surface of the windshield to fog up, blocking your vision.■
To prevent burns ●
Do not touch the rear view mirror surfaces when the outside rear view mirror defog-
gers are on. ●
Do not touch the glass at lower part of the windshield or to the side of the front pillars
when the windshield wiper de-icer is on.

Main sun visor
To set the visor in the forward posi-
tion, flip it down.
To set the visor in the side position,
flip down, unhook, and swing it to the
side.
To use the side extender, place the
visor in the side position, then slide it
backward. 
Sub sun visor
Flip down with the main sun visor in

Slide the cover to open. The light turns on when the cover is
opened.
If the vanity lights remain on when the engine switch is turned off, the lights will go off

Cleaning and protect ing the vehicle exterior●
Working from top to bott om, liberally apply water to the vehicle body, wheel
wells and underside of the vehicl e to remove any dirt and dust.●
Wash the vehicle body using a sponge or soft cloth, such as a chamois. ●
For hard-to-remove marks, use car wa sh soap and rins e thoroughly with
water. ●
Wipe away any water. ●
Wax the vehicle when the waterproof coating deteriorates. If water does not bead on a clean surface, apply wax when the vehicle body is cool.■
Automatic car washes ●
Fold the mirrors back before washing the ve hicle. Start washing from the front of the
vehicle. Make sure to extend the mirrors before driving. ●
Brushes used in automatic car washes may scratch the vehicle surface and harm your
vehicle’s paint. ●
Rear spoiler may not be wash able in some automatic car washes. There may also be an
increased risk of damage to vehicle. ■
High pressure car washes ●
Do not allow the nozzles of the car wash to come within close proximity of the windows.●
Before using the car wash, check that the fuel filler door on your vehicle is closed prop-
erly. ■
Wheels (including surrounding parts) ●
Remove any dirt immediately by using a neut ral detergent. Do not use hard brushes or
abrasive cleaners. Do not use strong or harsh chemical cleaners. Use the same mild
detergent and wax as used on the paint. ●
Do not use detergent on the wheels when they are hot, for example after driving for
long distance in the hot weather. ●
Wash detergent from the wheels immediately after use. ■

Do not scrub with abrasive cleaners.Perform the following to protect the ve hicle and maintain it in prime condi-
